  1. When we start to move away from the bottom group of teams, we may see Pedersen given more of a chance in the team. Remember last season, when Souness played a very solid midfield, that was hard to break down, for the last couple of games of the season, to ensure that we stayed up. Maybe Hughes is doing the same thing and once the team has more confidence and is playing better, we could afford to play Pedersen. At the moment it is about results and getting clear of the bottom three. Personnally, I'd like to see a midfield of Pedersen, Reid, Ferguson, Emerton. I'm sure Pedersen realised that there was a massive step up from the Norwegian League to the Premiership and like any other player, he will just have to keeping working hard in training and earn his place in the team.
  2. I agree with all that. Brad should definatley come out to stop Baros for his goal. Apart from McEveley's mistake I thought that he had a good game as did Johannson and Dominic Matteo shouldn't even get on the bench next week, now that Todd has returned. Hughes should stick with the same back 4. Although, Neill is a liability. When he first came to Rovers, he was excellent, but over the last two seasons, he has gone down hill and hopefully Hughes will address this in January. Possible replacements, Dario Simic of Milan, Danny Gabbidon, who can play there and at centre back or even Wes Brown.
  3. A very good result tonight and a battling, spirited performance to go with it. I had problems ordering the game on Premiership Plus and by the time that I got it, we were 1 down and I was fearing the worst. But after that we were excellent and I think that Hughes ideas and work on the training pitch was starting to come through. Emerton was brilliant the whole match, great cross for Bothroyd and a super finish for his goal. Bothroyd played well also, held the ball up well, had good vision and was good in the air. I thought that Reid had a solid game in midfield and a good run in the side will only make him better. Defensively , we still look shakey, but better than we have in recent games. It was good to see McEveley getting a game in the first team, he played well all night apart from that terrible mistake which lead to their goal. With abit more luck, Short's header would have found the back of the net. Hughes should keep the team the same for the next match and make sure that the players how the same desire and commitment. We have a run of games now, against teams in a similar position to ourselves and it is vital that we pick up points from them, so as to avoid another season of worry and frustration.
  4. I would like to see Pedersen get a go in the first team, but over who? He should definately be getting more chances from the bench.
  5. One of the few things going for us, going into this game is that Chelsea haven't scored that many in the Premiership this season, so we may just get away without being stuffed. Kezman will probably score, because we are the team where player score their first goal or teams get their first win.
  6. What an absolute joke. I haven't slagged Souness for leaving us with a bad team, but now I'm slagging him for leaving us with Amoruso and Matteo as our defenders. They are terrible, terrible players and ones who should never have been brought in. I'm sure that they weren't the only ones at fault, but when a team leaks 4 goals at home, the defence has to be looked at again.
  7. I'm happy that we haven't lost, but again we throw away a lead in the dying minutes. I'm glad to hear that Djorkaeff had a good debut, with surely more to come from him. Emerton sounds like he had a good game and I must say that under Hughes he has looked a different player. Our defence is shocking and any strike force who sees Amoruso and Matteo in the team, will fancy their chances. This has to be sorted out, now or in January.
  8. I'm very confident that we can win tomorrow, but I said the same thing on Monday. I don't think that we should start with Djorkaeff, but Hughes has said that he will feature, which will be good. 3-1 to Rovers.
  9. At least we have a proven penalty taker now. Oh wait....
  10. I was extremely disappointed after last night's result, because I thought that we could have gotten at least a point from the game. In the first half we were dreadful, we couldn't string any passes together and just resorted to hoofing long balls aimlessly up the pitch. Defensively we are still dreadful and Amoruso and Matteo were shown how dreadful they really are, by the 'potent' pair of Lisbie and Johannson. Apart from Flitcroft hitting the post and and Dickov's effort we weren't dangerous at all. We were much better in the second half, showed alot more effort and had some good possesion, some decent chances and a clear cut penalty. Other pluses were Jansen, who looked like he belonged in the team and Bothroyd, who I think should start our next game.
  11. He would be a good signing to have for the season. He would indeed bring some creativity to the side, which is something which has been missing in the last couple of days. He would bring with him alot of experience and also the fact that he has proven himself in the Premiership.
  12. My faith in Blackburn hasn't totally diminished, so I'm going for a Rovers win. Charlton have been awful in their last couple of games, so we have a decent chance. I'm just concerned about who is going to be in defence.
  13. With comments like, "they only come if they get free tickets" is it a wonder that Asians don't turn up in large numbers. Even if they did, I'm sure that there would be some, who would find it awfully annoying.
  14. The likes of Enckleman, McEvely, Gresko and De Pedro should get a run to show what they can do. I'd like to see Jansen and Bothroyd starting and Stead to come on and to try and get a goal and boost his confidence. Maybe even some of the youngsters like Fitzgerald, Donnelly and Johnson will get a game.
  15. Thank God that we won yesterday and it is obvious how the mood of the fans has changed. I saw the highlights on Football First and we played some good stuff. Portsmouth had some good chances and we were lucky not to give away a penalty. I thought Emerton looked very good and he showed what he could do when he runs at defenders. Pedersen looks like he needs a confidence boost. He keeps it simple, as if he doesn't want to make any mistakes. I do think that he could be a very good player, but I'd like to see De Pedro given a chance to show what he can do. Our central defence still looks weak and is too slow. Matteo and Amoruso have been poor signings and Hughes should replace them at the first chance. Bothroyd looks pretty good. The fact that he has pace and can take defenders on adds a different dimension to our front line. Even though Stead is still to score, I don't think that he looks out of his depth, he just isn't finding the net and isn't in the right place at the right time. Fair play to Jansen, he took his goal brilliantly and it reminded me of what he was like 2 years ago. His link up play also look good. Hopefully under Hughes he will be given more of a chance and that goal could give him the confidence to go on from here and discover his old form. Do we play Bournemouth next? If so, I'd definately start with Jansen and Stead. It would give Jansen the chance to carry on from where he left off and Stead the chance to score and find his scoring touch. I'd also like to see De Pedro given a chance. What a difference 3 points makes.
  16. I'm very happy with the decision as he was one of my first choices for the job. He has done very well with Wales and being an ex-player he knows the club well and what the supporters expect. A manager with Premiership experience is hard to come by, but one who was also a good manager and not like Glenn Hoddle or George Graham is even more rare, so I think Hughes has alot of potential and could do a good job.
  17. I'm a big Muse fan and I think that some of their stuff is awesome, but I doubt that they are bigger than Linkin Park. Linkin Park are one of the biggest bands in America, which means you are sorted. The fact that Nu-Metal has swept the world and with Linkin Park being one of the bands at the heart of it, it means that they have benefited from it. However, I wouldn't say Muse are the equivalent to Burnley. I've been listening to a bit of George Michael, what an absolute legend.
  18. Surely the money has to be there for him to blow it? I would be glad of Houllier's coaching abilities more than an anything else.
  19. Which album, Hybrid Theory, Reanimation or Meteora? I have all of them and think that Linkin Park are excellent and are one of my favourite bands. Just don't get Radaghast going about them.
  20. planetfootball.com, which runs stories from skysports.
  21. I haven't a problem with Peter Reid and I thought that he did a good job for Sunderland, but I'd rather he didn't take over. Skysports are reporting on the Advocat story that Hughes is Blackburn's prefered choice of manager.
  22. Wouldn't be a bad thing though. As I've said, Advocat would be a disaster in my opinion, he wasn't able to make the Dutch play well, when they have arguably the best squad of players about.
