  1. I'm seriously considering going. I have been looking at the Fifa website and have been looking at the different venues. I've thought about getting an inter-rail card, which would make it easier to travel between games. The chance to see Ireland in the World Cup is too big an oppurtunity to pass up.
  2. This is going to be another tough game for Rovers, against a team who are playing well at the moment and are very good at home. For this game I'd like to McEveley or Gray restored to the first team, because seeing Matteo playing right infront of me on Saturday showed me how bad I always thought he was. Mokoena may well start this game and he looks like a good player. Nelsen may also make his debut. I'm not sure whether or not Hughes will keep Pedersen in the side. If we were to get a draw, it wouldn't be a bad result.
  3. I was at the game on Saturday. It was a good match, with a draw being a fair result. Pedersen took his goal very well and had quite a good game. Mokoena looks like a good bit of business. It was also good to see Johnson get a run out. I knew he was small, but not that small! He had a couple of good touches and I hope that he plays in the replay, which we should win.
  4. It's been so long since we had a good run in the Cup, so I hope Hughes takes it seriously. For most of the top teams in the Premiership, the F.A Cup comes behind the league and qualification for the Champions League. But players want to have medals at the end of their careers, so if it came between qualifing for the Champions League, or winning the F.A Cup, I'd say they'd go for the Cup. I think that I'm going to this one, so Rovers better win. I hope that Hughes puts out a pretty much full strength team, although I'd like to see Mokoena's debut and Pedersen getting a game. But then again, the team have played alot of matches lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were afew omissions. Does anyone know if Nelsen is able to play on Saturday? It would be nice to Jemal Johnson get a game and show what he can do. Cardiff are really struggling at the minute and we are playing well, so I have to go for an away win. 3-1 to Rovers.
  5. A great result for Rovers. We need to win our home games and we did that today. Todd sounds like he had another good game. A win, with a clean sheet is very pleasing. Now, we are building a gap between ourselves and the relegation zone. I hope that the good results from the Christmas period and new players coming into the club, will mean a better half to the season.
  6. There's a convincing argument.
  7. I heard alot of noise by one of them, that was enough. I like the way you put the word opinion in '', as if it didn't matter. Very clever.
  8. Indeed they do and in your opinion and in my opinion they are crap. I think that Linkin Park are good and even though I'm not a huge Jay-Z fan, I think that this is great collaboration. On a different point, have you heard Ian Brown's album 'The Music Of The Spheres'? Top class. As for Radagast's comments, Manowar and Dream Evil are as big a joke to me as Linkin Park and Jay-Z are to you.
  9. The millions of albums sold would suggest otherwise.
  10. I'm listening to a band called Dead Poetic at the moment. I heard one of their songs, New Medicines, on the Scuzz music channel and thought that it was brilliant. I downloaded some of their stuff off the first album and it wasn't great. But I then downloaded stuff off their second album, 'New Medicines' and some of it is really good. They are heavy rock, but without going overboard with screaming and being too heavy. Also, for Christmas my brother got the Jay-Z Linkin Park collaberation. It is awesome.
  11. We have to keep our unbeaten run going against a team that has lost 4 games in a row. However, they did play well against Middlesborough and Man Utd, so we will be in for a hard game. Defence is the key again, if we don't let any in, then we don't lose. We are playing well, we are on a good run and we have played well away from home this, so I'm oing for a 2-1 win.
  12. I just watched the highlights on Football First and it was another great performance by the team, which finally got us the much needed 3 points. Great goal by Dickov, Stead was unlucky with his header and Reid should have scored at the end. Defensively we looked solid again and 4 clean sheets in 6 games, speaks for itself. We go into the Villa game with more confidence, against a team who have lost 4 in a row.
  13. A great win today and one that we have certainly been threatening for some time. We have moved up a position to 15th I think. Hughes has certainly done a good job so far and a win will only make the team better. Also, great to see another clean sheet, the defence is doing so much better.
  14. What are the odds on another draw? Another big game for Rovers, in their only local derby, seeing as Burnley are rotting elsewhere. Bolton haven't been playing well, but we have failed to beat them since our return to the Premiership and tomorrow would be a great time to set the record straight.
  15. The fight and commitment that our players are showing at the moment, in the midfield inparticular, makes me wonder if Savage is indeed needed and would the money not be best spent on a top striker? Just a thought.
  16. I watched the highlights of our game on Football First, and that was definately a game that we should have won. We need to start winning, because draws don't keep you in the Premiership. But we are playing alot better, and apart from Dyer's goal, we are defending alot better as well. I thought that Stead had a good game, linked up well, but is just not getting the chances that he was last season. Thompson had a fine game and with Reid being doubtful for the next game, he will easily come into the team. As for the summation of Dickov's overall play, I'd have to agree. He did score yesterday, but I do feel that you have to bring more to a game than passion and commitment, in the shape of skill and good link up play, which Dickov doesn't have. I'd like to see him getting sub for once as well.
  17. We are a due a win and the way that Newcastle are playing at the moment and the improvement that we have shown over recent games, then I wouldn't bank against us. Newcastle look like they will be without Shearer, Bellamy, Dyer, Butt and the suspended Bowyer. On top of this their defence is even worse than ours. However we haven't been scoring goals lately, so their is no guarantee that we will take advantage of their shody defending. Plus, shoving one up Graeme Souness should definately be a motivating factor for the players. 2-1 Rovers.
  18. Watch the highlights on Premiership First and there is no doubt that we should have had a penalty, when Dickov was brought down. We were far the better side, created some good chances and could have won it at the end, when Emerton hit the post. I know that we haven't won today and it is getting very frustrating, but at least we didn't lose against the team 2nd in the league. We have to take heart from our performances and realise that if we keep playing like we are, then the draws will turn into wins. We are 16th going into Christmas, with the second half of the season and some new players in January to look forward to. For so long we have been saying how a new centre back was a priority. I still think this, but since Hughes has come in, we have been looking alot tighter in defence. With Nelson and Moekena looking lightly to sign in January, Hughes should also be looking to bring in a striker who can score goals. This is obviously a problem for us and we aren't going to win matches if can't score. The strikers that we have aren't prolific scorers and if we could bring someone in who finds the back of the net consistently, then we would definately move up the table.
  19. Rovers are unchanged from the game last week: Friedal Neill Todd Short Matteo Reid Flitcroft Ferguson Emerton Dickov Bothroyd Bench: Enckleman, Johansson, Stead, Gallagher, Pedersen Hughes obviously thought that the team did well enough last week. For once, maybe Matteo's inclusion could be justified, when you consider how big and strong Everton are. Good to see Pedersen getting on the bench, even though there isn't much else that Hughes could have looked to in the rest of the squad.
  20. Could someone tell me how much the tickets are? I think that I'm going to go to this, because I have cousins in Cardiff, who are Cardiff fans.
  21. Shay Given. According to planetfootball, he is wanting out of Newcastle, with Arsenal being interested. It would put an end to any speculation about Brad leaving, if Given were to go to Arsenal.
  22. This is going to be a very hard game for Rovers, who usually should be confident playing at home against, but not at the moment. I've been quite confident about our chances in previous games, but not this one. At the same time, I do think that Everton are a team that can be beaten and you never know, we might surprise ourselves.
  23. Another disappointing result. Had some good chances in the first half, Dickov in particular, but we failed to convert them. Thompson getting sent off hardly helps the team, reducing our midfield numbers again. But at east we didn't lose, which would have been a disaster. We now just have to look to the next game, to get a win.
