Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachStaffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Just keep trying fly out of that window then pal… 2 wide players and Dack just off Gallagher or BBD is another option. All I’m saying is you have to try these things not just say they won’t work. Chucking Chris Samba up front for the last 10-15 mins of game changes things, shouldn’t really do it but it will change a game and put pressure on a team.

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachStaffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard The problem is he never makes any significant changes in a game, his subs are like for like. Last night they had 2 defenders injured and we continued to approach the game the same, we never attempted to make changes which could have impacted the game. We are short on quality up front but have never tried playing Gallagher and BBD as a front 2 with wide players. It’s like watching a fly trying to escape through an open window, never learns and keeps hitting the glass instead of going through the open window

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachStaffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I disagree, are you saying that the way we played last night is the only way we can play because it’s underfunded. I’m talking about the style of football, he can change things and go more expansive with what we currently have. Dolan and Thomas on either wing a central striker or even 2 would be a significant positive change. But hay you can do that basic change without massive funding

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachStaffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I’d prefer see a coach who isn't scared to change things, having a proper go (attacking with intent) at home especially against a team who is bottom of the league, his calibre means nothing when we are churning out performances like this.

v Wigan Athletic (h) - 6/2/23Staffordshire Rover replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard If the ref had given that pen at the end I certainly wouldn’t have been confident Diaz would of finished it

v Wigan Athletic (h) - 6/2/23Staffordshire Rover replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Thomas looks an exciting player, Diaz doesn’t look interested to me, I’d prefer see Dolan in his place. Very tough to watch that was, the two opportunities we had towards the end of the game from free kicks summed this team/set up!

January Transfer Window.Staffordshire Rover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard It would be great for O’Brien to come out and tell the press what actually happened or didn’t happen, hope the lad can move abroad for the rest of the season

January Transfer Window.Staffordshire Rover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard This is a major mistake and is unforgivable, the statement from the club is similar to what this government do to deflect everything from themselves. I really feel for the two players sat in limbo here, best thing us fans can do is give the current players our full support but show the board and owners how we feel through sarcastic chants at games. Shambles

v Bristol City (a) - 21/1/23Staffordshire Rover replied to joey_big_nose's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Bristol goal- Morton dangling a leg in for that goal can not happen, pathetic attempt to win the ball. Vale could have prevented it by commuting a foul further up the pitch. Kaminski has to do better, that’s 2 bad mistakes in the last 2 games. On a positive note it’s a point and a good team goal finished by Dack.

v Bristol City (a) - 21/1/23Staffordshire Rover replied to joey_big_nose's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I don’t like the look of this fixture at all, we need to start with real energy especially from the front so I’d play both Markanday and Dolan. This won’t happen and they will both come on with 20 mins to go when we are losing 2-0 and the game is already finished. Please prove me wrong Rovers

That today is tough to take and watch, my concerns are JDT has no Plan B, he constantly sticks with the same style and even when putting on 2 quick smaller wider players. Shocking is an understatement. There is no fight in that team and it’s shown with all of the heavy defeats. Seeing JDT laughing on the bench when it was 2-0 is a massive kick in the balls to the fans.

v Cardiff City (h) - 1/1/23Staffordshire Rover replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Buzzing with that win, not the greatest performance but it’s a win. Garrett, Dack and Hyam were the standouts for me. How poor were the officials again! Also glad we never signed Kipre, he is a liability

v Cardiff City (h) - 1/1/23Staffordshire Rover replied to Sweaty Gussets's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I hope I am wrong but I see this being a very frustrating game for us

v Middlesbrough (h) - 29/12/22Staffordshire Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard I watched this one from home tonight, my 5 yr old in the 1st half said “this ref is actually doing ok tonight Dad” 2nd half after the sending off he said “I take back what I said before Dad this guy is like the rest of them, he doesn’t know what he is doing” He is 5! As I’ve mentioned I watched it on TV but were there boos when Dack was taken off? Frustrating night again!

Jon Dahl Tomasson - no longer Sweden coachStaffordshire Rover replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard JDT needs to stop banging on about these young players, it’s an excuse! Sign a couple of experienced players to improve the starting lineup and have a push at the playoffs, we are sat in 3rd place and have a great opportunity this season given the standard of this league. His interview is not inspiring for the players or fans

v Sunderland (a) - 26/12/22Staffordshire Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard On Hirst he did well at Pompey and their fans liked him, personally I’m not sure he is cut out for this standard but it’s harsh because he is feeding from scraps and very little scraps at that. To play as a CF and not have a single chance or half chance in both the Forest and Sunderland game is worrying but that’s not down to the player it’s the system/set up
-
v Sunderland (a) - 26/12/22Staffordshire Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard We offered very little going foward all game, however Dack and Gallagher clearly offered way more than Travis and Hirst did. The changes just invited pressure on even more
-
v Sunderland (a) - 26/12/22Staffordshire Rover replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Substitutions lost us that game, we lost all threat going forward and clearly didn’t shut up shop. Why is JDT not bringing Markanday on after how he played against Forest! Piss poor again!

v Norwich City (a) - 17/12/22Staffordshire Rover replied to simongarnerisgod's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Dolan Gallagher BBD Dack or Hedges Morton Wharton Pickering Warton Hyam carter Kaminski

v Preston North End (h) - 10/12/2022Staffordshire Rover replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard Wilder is in the box with Sky go and have a serious word with him Waggot. All over the pitch that was pathetic, look at the bench and JDT is just sat there arms folded. Motivate your players FFS

v The Dingles (a) - 13/11/2022Staffordshire Rover replied to sympatheticclaret's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard JDT got it all wrong today, he used to be a striker, so how can we go to Burnley (not the only away games like this I know) and have just 1 real shot at goal is beyond me. You can lose a game 3-0 and still have a go, lose 3-0 like that today is so hard to take. Diaz and Gallagher were playing way too far apart, we should have played them closer and hit longer balls into them and worked off them. Not the JDT style but we would have got more success than that shower
