v Sheffield Wednesday (a) - 2/12/23
ABRAM ROVER replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Hope the snow holds off. £17 open return from Piccadilly to Sheffield I thought wasn't too bad. Few beverages and 3 points hopefully to make it 5 away wins in a row. When is the last time that happened? I think we only won 6 away games all seasons last season. Rovers 2 - 0 - Leonard, Szmodics -
Safe Standing at Ewood - Consultation
ABRAM ROVER replied to Miller11's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I noticed the crowd funding question thrown in. Only a matter of time before something happens in NO1. At the Preston game in NO1 the steps were impassable and must have been two to a seat in some parts. -

Safe standing mentioned again. Another questionnaire on the road to nowhere. It was chaos in NO1 at the Preston game. -

Looking forward to this one. Biggest game of the league calender for me. 6000 Nob End. I class these as a big rival obviously not in the same bracket as Burnley but Notlob and Nob End are the next on my list for sure. Dolan 1 nil. -

The new safe standing areas are essentially terracing aren't they. I'd say 50% of the premier league teams have it now and lots of championship teams, league 1. I say new but it's been around for a while. As with everything Rovers late to the party.

Looking forward to Stockport tonight. Although I think the 'strongest' team will be reserved for Girona tomorrow I think we might see Pickering, Ennis and Adam Wharton tonight. Maybe even Carter and JRC who are both from Stockport. 3 tickets purchased for Girona as well. Looks empty on the ticket map which is surprising as the ticket prices are very reasonable. Girona look a very good team on paper played champions league and Europa league last season. Pablo Torre from Barca one to watch.

Is this actually happening then yes? Might be worth a specific piece on joining in with this on socials -
I'm going Stockport on Friday night but got to say I didn't realise it was Girona the day after so surely will be a mixed bag squad wise. Oh well a new ground to ❌ off

Rovers TV
ABRAM ROVER replied to Tim Southampton Rover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yeah. The social media content is lacking compared to the others. They put some training content out now and again but that's about it. All you have to do is look at some other teams YouTube channels to see the gulf in class. -
Got to be this for me. Mentioned above. It's the only bespoke Rovers song I can find and I don't think many people are aware of it. Everton have had huge success with the Shone so Brightly FA cup song from the 80's. Other than this it would have to be the 4000 holes Beatle song but I think it would need editing to suit. Anyone pals with Paul?

Wigan (a), FA Cup 3rd Round, 8/1/21

I would be happy with that to be honest, maybe swap Travis for Davenport as they are similar win the ball back type midfielders. -

See my post above. I wouldn't bank on it if Wigan want it to be under 10k without the need for any covid measures. Better to buy them in advance. -
Wigan (a), FA Cup 3rd Round, 8/1/21
ABRAM ROVER replied to Admiral Nelsen's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Maybe people are planning to buy on the day with it being local but I wouldn't bank on this. Depending on how Wigan are selling this will most likely be under the 10k covid measure threshold hence why no mention so far of any covid measures so I would buy now in advance and spread the word to any others hoping to buy on the day. Interesting game, my wife is a season ticket holder at Wigan and having lived here now for 10 years I have been to a fair few games myself recently. They always seem to score late goals so something to watch out for. They haven't had a game for about three weeks now and last night demolished Oldham in the Autoglass Pappa Johns tinpot trophy (not that impressive I know) and had a near full strength team out. Maybe they will use the FA cup to get the first team up to match speed again? I cant say I have been massively impressed with Wigan when watching but they are doing well under Liam Richardson and Lang is the key man for them along with James Mclean (BOOOO) and Max Power. If Rovers make 11 changes I wouldn't be too confident. Is a Rovers 2nd strength 11 better than top of the table League 1? You would like to think Gallagher/Dolan/Butterworth/Ayala have a point to prove as do the rest. We will find out on Saturday. Regardless of the result it will be a good day out on the booze. Some decent pubs in the town centre including Wigan Central for you real ale lovers. Come out of the north western, turn left and left under the bridge in the arches. -
Sounds like initial allocation of 2k is sold out and we have asked for a further 1k. With the covid measure cap at 10k this might mean that there are no sales on the day if Wigan think this will be a sub 10k gate so if you are planning on paying on the day I wouldn't chance it.
