  1. Well, some were blaming Mowbray last night, so I suppose it isn't much of a stretch to throw Appleton's record in, no matter how completely irrelevant it is.
  2. I agree to a degree, but that wasn't the point.
  3. Mowbray left a squad which finished 8th then 7th,a platform on which to build. it's the subsequent disastrous transfer dealings, or lack of, which has done the damage, you only have to look at the quality of loan players under Broughton and Tomasson. There's double the number of "recruitment" staff, yet they're not a patch on the previous lot
  4. We'd better hope so, let's hope Eustace can do what Tomasson couldn't.
  5. We were in freefall under Tomasson and going down. Some of the football under him, especially earlier this season, was as good as we've seen for a good while, but he obviously lacked the nous to turn around the form when a different approach was required. We were/are in a tailspin, hopefully Eustace can pull that nose up before we crash land into League 1.
  6. A Gallagher contract extension would be the most sensible thing Broughton has done up to now.
  7. I agree with the principle, trouble is it's complaining about fans being overcharged, then subsequently overcharging other fans. It isn't the Bristol fans' fault. I know that there isn't much of option, but it is a bit hypocritical. More needs to be done on reciprocal pricing.
  8. The common sense thing to do would be to extend Gallagher's contract, get another 2 year's use out of him,he's already paid for. Fact of the matter is, if he was at another club, Rovers couldn't afford him. Any similarly experienced forward would want similar wages.
  9. Does that mean Stoke were charging £344 for the last 17 seasons?
  10. I have it on good authority that the Gallagher /Hyam rumour is completely false.
  11. To be fair though, he took over a team which was in certain relegation form, which has to be a factor.
  12. I've been thinking of it as pre and post Tomasson, no argument there.
  13. It happens every time, it seems that it isn't possible to praise one player without in turn slagging off another to somehow prove the point. Dolan was in cracking form until his injury against Birmingham, from that point we nosedived.
  14. Good point which looks even better thanks to some favourable results elsewhere. Here's hoping that a full week's coaching, and a decent all round performance at a difficult venue isn't a coincidence.
  15. I'm not clutching at anything, I don't need to,I'm beyond getting emotionally attached to anyone, I'm just saying it as I see it. We were in a death spiral, Tomasson left and we've lost 2 in 8 as I see it, not brilliant obviously but the way we were playing previously, not too bad. If you want to quote the lack of wins crack on, I don't really care if we draw our way to safety, we can't afford to go down. I think keeping us up would be a good achievement, you play it down if you want.
  16. The table shows form over the season, it has no relevance whatsoever to the form the team was in prior to Tomasson leaving.
  17. I think some have underestimated the damage done previously, if he saves Rovers from the drop, it will have been some turnaround.
  18. It would be a good draw tomorrow for sure. I'm reading lots about no wins, but another draw and just 2 defeats in 9 since Tomasson left would be a good foundation on which to take on the back end of the season.
  19. They've brought in 5 times more staff and done 5 times worse.
  20. Thing is not one person on here wouldn't agree that we're" light" in every department, never mind midfield. Are we all making excuses or are they factors rather than excuses. Maybe cut him a bit of slack rather than jumping on every comment he makes. Tomasson made the same comment numerous times, maybe look back at the responses?
  21. It was on the boxing on Friday, and Back In black.
  22. I'm rather hoping he doesn't get the chance.
