John Eustace - our head coach

We were right next to it, the whole situation was a nothing. The red card was ridiculous. Pickering did more than anyone and didn't even get booked. -

I'm not saying he is, or should be our number one forward. It just seems mental in our position that we'd be happy to lose an experienced centre forward for free. Ipswich supposedly bid £2 million for him. We've no money and he's already paid for. Obviously it would be dependent on wage demands, but from a squad situation, to me it's the most obvious thing to do. Unless we've actually got that Wharton money to spend. -

It's all about opinions, Keiran Mckenna's is good enough for me. -

He's a forward, an experienced one and there'd be no shortage of takers if he came available on a free. I think we'd be mad to let him go when he's already paid for. The knack would be getting someone better to play in his place, challenging him for his place. -

He shouldn't be leading the line, but I'd definitely keep him. If we do keep him, and then sign what looks like an improvement, I'd say that is more of a good sign going forward. We need another forward, not just a replacement. -
Because I know where this goes. We've already had it this season with "Stokegate",who cares who got the 3 points? Then we had where's the next win coming from? He won 2,then it's what about home wins? I've never cared how we stay up as long as we do. I'll give him a clean slate from next season.

I just don't see the point in carrying negativity over into next season, given the difficult circumstances in which he took over this season. If the same failings resurface and results don't improve , then obviously keeping him on would be the wrong choice.

There are always doubts ,the lack of goals scored and chances created is obviously a major one. It isn't blind faith, if he went tomorrow it wouldn't bother me one bit, but I'd be prepared to see how he goes on from a level start next season. He's had a good look at the squad and should be in a good position to assess what he feels is needed. If it makes you feel better, you can keep quoting this season's record up to Christmas,I'm sure you would, but I'd be happy to park this season. If he does stay, what do you feel would be a good finish?

That is exactly where I am, the job has always been staying up. If we do, this period should be of benefit to Eustace as to what is and isn't needed going forward. I don't really see the point in getting rid of him, only to take another off the conveyor when he has already assessed the situation.

It was going out if Hyam left it -
I can see your point. Do you not think though, that we're reaching a stage where there's a hardcore of season ticket holders who will renew no matter what? I'm in that category, I've certainly never been against the club reducing ticket prices to try to maximise sales.

Reading the lad's comment who is working 2 jobs. He struggles to get to games which have been moved for tv, because of shift work. Don't know if it's been suggested, it should be easy to introduce a flexi half season ticket. Maybe a 12 game ticket which can be used for any 12 games,so a half season ticket which can be spread over the full season.

It's just a lack of awareness from Hyam. Should have been safety first knowing his keeper was out. Having said that, the finish was outstanding. -

I watched the first goal back and paused it just as Pears headed it, have a look. If he doesn’t come out, their player is clear down the left channel with all the defence gone missing. He made exactly the right choice, it's Hyam who cocks up by not clearing his lines. -

They probably would have done , but thankfully we didn't play like Boro did we? -

Why does the Eustace thread always turn into the defend Tomasson thread? -

I did, I also watched him have a man of the match performance against Leeds. Brilliant he isn't, but Wahlstedt is worse, so much worse that you're the first to mention him in about 3 months. -

I can hear the Cov fans now, how can we play like that against United and get bloody beat by Blackburn.
