  1. Yes, the challenge was right in front of me. It was lazy from BBD. I thought Kam saved the first one with his legs that you mention and then their lad stuck the rebound in the top corner...then the whistle blew so I thought it was to disallow the goal.
  2. I find JDT to be tactically naïve. The performances are bad because of the way he sets the team up and the way he asks them to play. That's the third time in the last 5 league games we've conceded 3, and we also look fairly toothless going forward. The desperation subs he makes at H/T are a worry too. It suggests he gets it wrong from the start quite often.
  3. Dack was brought off as he's had a lot of minutes and was tired according to JDT. (he also wasn't playing well). Hedges was awful and no wonder he was hooked. He's also not a striker. Vale came on because he was the back-up striker. He just isn't ready.
  4. Do we? There was never any confirmation we were in for Colak, and very little speculation.
  5. Hirst was blowing out of his arse when he came off. He's probs not played much this season.
  6. There are huge gaps where our midfield should be when we don't have the ball. We are so easily overrun. Again, that's down to the tactics employed.
  7. I heard it, and I was in the JW lower. The players all thought it had been disallowed and so did the City players...and then suddenly it was given. Very odd.
  8. The concerns about JDT remain. We looked a very sterile side. The only tactic seemed to be - pass it along the back until it gets to the full back > full back chips it forward and infield to central player with big defender up his arse > lose ball. There was no invention and no excitement. Essentially a really dull brand of football. Very Italian, very clinical, very sterile. Unlike the Italians though we are easy to play and score against. Like others have said, it seems very ill-suited to the Championship. We looked a lot better when Buckley and Dolan came on simply because they travelled with the ball a bit more. Buckley needs to be playing every week, he just oozes class. Bristol City were big, strong and well-organised. They had some quality and experience along their front line. But they were beatable. We were just garbage. Positives: Carter looks a beast and has a lot of potential, and Hyam played well. Hirst can at least run the channels and is mobile, he needs service though and I'm not sure he'll get if with the system we play. Quite worried all-in-all - worried that JDT isn't up to it.
  9. When the red red robin goes bob, bob bobin' along.... Rovers 1 v 0 Bristol City Hirst with a debut goal to send the massed throngs into delirium.
  10. 'Light applause' Could you grade all the managers so I know what to do when they return? 😉
  11. You should have signed some more players. 😉
  12. Buckley signs new long-term deal! | rovers.co.uk Great news. Shows how much he's rated at the club. Broughton's wise words about Buckley' potential to become a Premier League footballer are spot on. Buckley has certainly got the ability. Obviously no everyone agrees, but there are none so blind as those who will not see. 😉
  13. The club turned down the bids. The end. And it wasn't an argument, it was a discussion.
  14. Agree with all that. The bit in bold resonates. I think with Mowbray the feeling was the journey would always finish somewhere in mid-table. With JDT it's more of an unknown. I've predicted 9th but that's a bit 'safety first' wishful thinking. It could just as easily be 22th or 2nd.
  15. But we agree it was the club's decision not to sell him?
  16. Been in Scotland for a long time. ICT was the last club I saw him play for.
  17. The return of the prodigal son....
  18. You don't have to be ITK to know they turned offers down and would only sell if their price was met. It's literally been all over the press. The facts he's happy here is irrelevant if nobody met the valuation. He didn't have a choice but to stay. We'll never know that bit but the fact he won't sign a new contract suggests he'll be off within the next 12 months.
  19. I'm not sure what your point is especially, but you've clearly contradicted yourself. Regardless, AW is mobile and fairly quick, and not afraid to put his foot in. He's already proved he can have a 'physical impact'. He's clearly not the same build as BJ but neither was David Batty. BJ only advantage was his height when he was at Rovers.
  20. I think with the 73 signings Burnley just made in this window they can't afford not to go up. They are favourites really based on their outlay. It would be a shame if they just missed out.
  21. On the absence of Ayala, head coach Tomasson said: “Dan for sure has been one of the best players in the seasonWhen I got to know that he couldn’t be play I was disappointed but we all know his history of playing games and injury. It shouldn’t be a serious injury but he wasn’t fit.” That was in the LT yesterday. Probably said after the game. So hopefully he'd already had the scan when it was said and it's not serious.
