  1. Women of Rotherham - Galligol returns. You're welcome. 💗
  2. We've certainly upgraded the prices! Pie and a pint last season £6 Pie and a pint this season £9.50
  3. It was noticeable Saturday how much more we are getting balls in down the side of the oppositions defence this season - playing quick short passes in the between the full back and CB's down the width of the 18yrd box -and then cutting the ball across the 6 yard box. Quite a few examples in those clips. We look far more incisive. It's a far cry from most of last season.
  4. Is he a No.10? Only seen him in clips but does look quite tall and skilful
  5. As some of us have been saying all along. JDT and GB want Batth for a reason. If Hyam gets injured without a proper replacement we're fucked.
  6. Is Hyam playing? LT saying he was involved in a bit of play but team sheet has him one the bench?
  7. Did anyone else witness this bellend in action?! He got thrown out soon after. Some real vermin among the West Brom support on Saturday.
  8. The PNE plastics hosted a Liverpool friendly tonight. The fucking shame of it🙂
  9. Classic Mowbray interview - I'm not blaming other stuff (injuries, refs etc) but I'm going to go on about the other stuff for at least 10 minutes.
  10. Markanday left the pitch at HT shaking his head and looking frustrated with himself. He scored a great goal but apart from a few nice touches he looked off the pace and lightweight. He lost the ball easily a couple of times in the first half when he tried to beat his man. He also got robbed of the ball for their goal. He will improve and he won't play as big/physical a team as yesterday that often.
  11. Results didn't necessarily improve, but no-one can argue that from about February onwards last season we looked a much better team. I thought yesterday there was another noticeable improvement. Nobody really likes us passing the ball about in dangerous areas between defenders/keepers but I thought yesterday you could see exactly why we do it. They were a big physical team with good players and you could see from the off they fancied their chances of overpowering us on the press and winning the ball high up the pitch. JDT's obvious plan is to suck the opposition (matron!) midfield and attack deep into our half and leave a huge gap in the middle of the park for us to exploit if we manage to pass through the press. It worked more times yesterday (in the 2nd half especially) than I remember from any match last season. We kept getting through the press, picking the ball up in midfield and quickly feeding it out wide, mainly to Dolan. One minute we were passing about in our own box, the next were running at their backline 3-on-4 or 4-on-4. It's impressive how quick we do it. What we don't do well is exploit those situations, especially from the wide areas. Dolan worked really hard yesterday and his defensive work has improved massively, so has ability to keep the ball. Where he lacks is when he gets the ball in dangerous areas cos there is little end product. I'm guessing Siggy has been brought in because he can create and score goals. I think we need someone on the right who can do the same. I think we're a couple of attackers short of having a really good team that will be hard to beat.
  12. Reading WBA forums and a few of them were picking upon just how much fitter we were than them. I've seen very few Rovers teams play with the intensity, and be as hard-working, as this one. WBA were a big physical side and we were physically (and technically) too much for them 2nd half.
  13. I think his improvement went under the radar a bit last season too. JDT has improved him quite a bit IMO, not only his defending but also his distribution. He did the JRC thing yesterday too and came infield to join in the build up play, especially 2nd half.
  14. Tronstad was good after a slow start. Does a lot of the unheralded stuff in the middle of the park. The connoisseurs of the game can see it though! Wharton had a bit of shocker, gave the ball away needlessly in really dangerous positions 2 or 3 times. JDT was going mad at him on the touchline. But he also played the pass of the match.
  15. So he should. Our team cost 10 bob. WBA's team cost 10's of millions!
  16. Proper celebration, no fannying around, just passion!
  17. I saw a bit of commotion at the BBE and heard the announcement at H/T...I presume some bellend chucked something at one of their players when they were taking corner?
  18. I thought the back four were immense today, so much so that Pears had very little to do against a WBA team with some very good Championship players in their team. I also thought Travis and Tronstad were very competitive in the middle of the park. Tronstad looks an intelligent player, he grew into the game and was making some very timely challenges, closing players down and generally stopping WBA from playing. Travis was excellent too. Szmodics was his usual self, working hard, cajoling his team mates and looking dangerous on the break. Dolan and Markanday worked tirelessly and both showed quality in patches, but you can see why we bought Siggy and why we need a RW. Dolan especially gets so much good ball in dangerous areas but invariably does nothing with it. I felt Markanday was the same, albeit he scored a very good goal. Markanday looked very lightweight out there (with the caveat that WBA were a huge team) Special mention to Leonard who I thought was phenomenal up against two monster CB's. Never shirked a challenge, put himself about, scored a great goal and held the ball up really well. He looks a proper forward. Wharton came on lost the ball loads, played the 'pass of the season winner' in game 1, and then strolled around giving it away again! I fucking love JDT. An absolute genius! Thought we controlled the game really well for the most part, apart from the first 20 minutes. Fantastic win.
  19. Leonard held the ball up well and surprised me just how strong he was.
  20. I'd be tempted to go 4-3-3 today: Kaminski JRC, Carter, Hyam, Pickering Travis, Tronstad, Buckley Markanday, Szmodics, Dolan . I think Szmodics can do a job up front until hopefully we sign one in the next few weeks and/or Ennis gets up to speed. I think they need to bring Leonard on slowly. Leonard will now start and get a hattrick.
