  1. Elliot, Tosin and Reed would see us up there (equivalents, obviously)
  2. For me we need to be after A keeper who can command their box and make Pears an understudy. We continue to be chaos at set pieces defensively despite the attacking improvement. I had heard the Massamba Ndiaye who sounded like a punt but ticked the bill but looking back, I think this may be misidentifying Gueye. A loanee left back and central midfielder to put pressure on Pickering and pad the central numbers given Tronstad and Trav's yellow card generating abilities and JRC's injury record. An out and out wide man ideally for the right hand side. This one I feel is complicated as I'd suggest having a pacey left footer would suit more given Pickering cant overlap and Brittain can. But I think budget wise Hedges is the left footed left winger. I liked the look of the Ecuadorian linked as he seemed ok on the left and better cutting in the right. Beyond that, I don't forsee much business. If there is, a tall striker on loan and a tall central midfielder I think would benefit.
  3. Thought despite being lobbed Pears was ok. Still want a replacement. Brittain looked a tad better if not faster. Otherwise defence was fairly quiet. Two steady Eddie's in midfield but our lack of depth and their penchant for yellows worries me. I thought tronstad had a good block from Phillips early on. I prefer Ohashi as an impact sub (so far). First touch is wanting but he's a great terrier. Dolan was nearly there today too, some times the final ball was there but mainly not. JRC looked slightly improved but still clearly injured. Subs wise Weimann and his experience is a very astute signing. Gueye is chaos and a proper passion merchant. Crying out for a keeper, a yard of pace and a central midfield option
  4. Why don't we play Brittain as the winger and JRC as the full back. They're much of a muchness defensively and I'd say Brittain has the yard of pace between the two and puts a better cross into Gueye.
  5. Wasn't it nice when the extent of Blackburn Rovers analysis was watching match of the day
  6. 3 and a half hours of messing about, talking and all culminating in trying again another day. ED seems the perfect acronym
  7. It's amazing that given the centre backs above and the 20 goals a year we've found out of any one we can that we've never come close to playoffs
  8. Does Gilsenan get a look in this season?
  9. I don't know if we're still doing songs for players but to the tune of don't you think I'm sexy by rod Stewart He's from Hiroshima Japanese Alan Shearer Best mates with Papa Gueye
  10. At our level, any club doing 30m+ in sales is reinvesting that
  11. Was kick off 20.30? How've they lined up?
  12. Being bored and trying to practice some basic web scraping, and having never seen a J League game before in my life but finding myself increasingly infatuated with Ohashi - see below some statistical stand outs... Matheus Savio looks to be lethal on the wing and putting a ball in, doesnt qualify for a work permit but 27 (Soccer AM good age here) Another to note is Yan Matheus available just in time for the end of the January window. Looks rapid on youtube - could be the next Carlos Villanueva. Best Dribble Success Dribble Attempts Shots On Target Key Passes Crosses Matheus Savio 53 86 49 23 88 202 Yan Matheus 43 92 41 21 47 72 A striker option is 22 year old Marcelo Ryan. 6ft2, 22 years old and in and around the same goals scored record as Germain but 5 years younger and with 3 less pens. Best Dribble Success Dribble Attempts Shots On Target Marcelo Ryan 21 44 62 34 As an option to compete with Pickering, Hatsuse is a 6ft left back who seemingly throws a cross in at every opportunity and can take a free kick. Like a Japanese Brittain with the headband too. Free by the end of Jan.. Best Key Passes Crosses Ryo Hatsuse 56 227
  13. Paris Maghoma still at Brentford, bar a poor play offs he was a standout for Bolton and a good ball carrier I believe?
  14. It does raise the point, if Stansfield does sign then would he and Mak be ok rotating? Mak has looked good to my eyes so far and so would feel unfair to immediately lose his spot. Also don't think either would happily rotate. Competition is good. I do think we are light up front but would rather spend money on keeper, winger, someone off the striker, central midfield and full back (in that order). It might be a gamble but a decently aged big man (23/24) might be worth a gamble to understudy Mak
  15. Great call, assault weapon might be under selling him though he was a hydrogen bomb
  16. Poku in with Leonard on loan the sweeten the deal. I can't think of the last rovers player who'd be described as a humanoid rapid assault weapon so for that alone sign him up Can't lose sight of a keeper Still very light in the middle of the park (big lump signed and a technical loanee would be nice) Competition for Pickering Pace needed
  17. Gone from we need 4 or 5 in, to whoever we can get as fast as possible Bizarrely after having 10m put into the bank Bonkers Blackburn
  18. Got a feeling Sigurdson nicks a goal here. No logic behind it so don't question me
  19. Can't play so lackadaisical, tired and sluggish and not expect that to happen. Slightly worried it's so early in the season and were having extended periods of that
  20. Pears gift or Travis second yellow, what's the bet
  21. Literally 1.5 games through the season
  22. I think he will. You'd expect Davies and Szmodics to contribute. He's certainly scored a few for us coming off the outside. What he may struggle with is Delap retaining position as the most forwards player. He's been lethal for us running onto central space and that didn't look there (granted, Vs Liverpool)
