I've said it before here and I'll say it again. Szmodics is not that keen on moving to Ipswich and is nowhere near pushing for a move there. If another premier team comes in for him he leaves but he is very very happy at Rovers and has been all summer long. Now he's cuptied too.

Rovers clearly aren't desperate to sell him if they're not accepting Ipswich's offer which falls below the asking price. If no pays the asking price or a suitable compromise then they don't get him, it's really that simple.

Never heard such nonsense. You don’t lower your asking price because the only team currently interested are refusing to meet it. You want the player, you pay the asking price or make a compromise. Ipswich are doing neither. when Rovers “lowball” other teams you scream bloody murder, when other teams “lowball” Rovers, we should bend over and accept their offers.

I was coming at it more from his perspective, not Ipswich's.

Ipswich have a rivalry with Colchester. Szmodics playing for them is a bit like Adam Wharton signing for Bolton. Not unforgivable but a little weird.

They had their asking price and didn't accept any offers until Palace met it. We can all argue on what that asking price should have been however.

The only club to offer anything for Szmodics is Ipswich and their offers have fell below the asking amount. There are a million things to criticise Waggott and the venkys over, refusing to sell for a cut down price isn't one of them. it's one of the areas we actually operate correctly in.
