Whilst we have enjoyed a relatively prosperous start to the new campaign, there are still big question marks over the quality and backbone of this team, and the ability of JE to get a consistent tune out of the players at his disposal. If we can get Beck back in the side and settled, we are a different prospect and much more difficult to beat. Plymouth will adopt similar tactics to Coventry, without a doubt, as I'm sure Yoda's love child will have noticed we don't cope well with being roughed up a bit. The only hope I have is that Colleen's fat bloke will be too focused on trying to get his warriors playing in the style of the class of 92 to worry too much about what the opposition (us) are capable of doing. Rovers have generally done well when pitched against the Scouse sledgehammer's sides in recent years. I hope, for the sake of the faithful 1000 who are trogging down the M5 this afternoon, that the journey home is one of joyful reflection, bawdy songs and celebration, rather than a sad procession of football induced misery. I think the mood has changed somewhat, now we aren't unbeaten anymore, which was something of a false indicator of our form and too heavy a burden to carry indefinitely. After last night's toothless display, where we capitulated to a team of sunday league cloggers, I'm not sure what to expect at the weekend. Eustace won't have been happy with the team, or the lack of cohesion that bedogged our play, but then again, he chose the players and the tactics... Having said that, our players appeared to have the expectation that Coventry were good enough to beat us, typified by Hayden Carthorse' petulant shoving of their player to the ground which earned him a well-deserved yellow card - Carter's facial expression as he made the shove was very telling 😉 Home Park is a long way to go, but even further to drive home from after a disappointing no-show by the team. We shall see if there really is something behind the claims of good man management bandied about by ITK, and given our recent struggles to compose ourselves on the long road, I'm fully expecting a reverse. These are thugs, roughing our defenders up at set pieces, including for their goal - very unsettling, and something we need to factor in to our play.

Hoping for a positive outcome from this game, at a ground where we have had some good results, but where it is always difficult to go with confidence. For me, tactics have to change a bit for this one - I'd like to see Cantwell take on a bit more responsibility for the engine room and creative forward play, would prefer big Mak up top for the first hour or so, after which Yuki might come on to change things up in terms of the attacking threat. I'd like to give Cozier-Duberry a run out in the side too, with a remit to pop balls into the danger area for the Mak, perhaps paired with Hedges going back to his origins as a winger capable of delivering killer crosses from the by-line. Overall I don't think we can complain too much about keeping the core of a settled and effective side. Each different opponent brings its own challenges, and I'm sure JE will have done his homework on the Sky Blues. Another clean sheet would be a good return, whatever else happens.. Head - Sky Blues 1 Rovers 1 Heart - Sky Blues 0 Rovers 2 Hell in a Hand Cart - Coventry 2 Rovers 6 (Yuki hat-trick, Cantwell penalty, Mak Gueye tap in and Hedges screamer). COYB!!

If we keep winning, there's plenty on here that won't be able to cope... But it will be very interesting, if they mount yet another campaign against promotion, to undermine JE and to frustrate the faithful who want nothing but success and prosperity to return to the fortunes of our once proud but now (relatively) humbled and hamstrung club. Feck em, I say. Just keep going and grinding out the good stuff, and give the Venksters and the haters the fookin problem. COYB!!

Another win will increase the levels of sniffage going on from clubs higher up the food chain with managerial question marks, but we have to hope the positive home form continues. Every interview that JE gives reinforces the quality of his approach, and his ability to view the turbulent context of a football club in organisational crisis through an objective and reassuring lens. These are good times from a fan's perspective, with confidence building on and off the field (despite the crass statements and stink emanating from the owners' direction). I don't know much about the QPR lot this season, and to be honest I couldn't give a toss either - we simply have to beat whatever team is in front of us on the day. I hope we get the rub of the green, that our players give as coherent a performance as they have done so far this season and that our spirit and togetherness (heretofore absent perhaps?) lead us to a comfortable win. However, any team can beat any team in this league (we know this too well) so we need to be on our game. Apparently Southampton are sniffing around Eustace. It would be better for him to get some success on his cv, preferably with Rovers, than for some cash-wallowing competitor to try to steal him based on a short run of positive form. Pathetic how little actual talent there appears to be swimming around in the management pool. Hands OFF, Southampton scum! COYB!

No, but these days everything is run as a business, and the only kinds of business that turn guaranteed customers away are those heading for abject failure. A hard game at the weekend, without a doubt. But no more difficult than a derby day trip to t'Turd. Oddly enough, I think the nobbers will pick our pockets, Blackpool stylee on Sunday. However, it is about time Rovers put on a show for the loyal travelling fans. COYB!

Wash your mouth out! Yuki San is a good finisher, but he isn't anywhere in Shearer's league.. However, it is brilliant to have a player on the pitch with such an obvious eye for goal.
