  1. Absolutely. It was inevitable that once teams got filled with centre mids playing centre half the big man would return and then the direct stuff to exploit it. If I hear a manager has a philosophy other than win games of football I'm immediately suspicious. Data geeks and middle class gentrification of football does my head in, half space, pivot, double pivot, 2 6's and an 8. Load of nonsense to make people seem smart. "Play the right way"- says who? I loved being the bully boys.
  2. I hope all your fans got back OK. I feel for people who spent their hard earned money and time to see an unfinished game after travelling all that way. Interesting comments on McKenna, presumed he would still have his Halo .
  3. No doubt its a full replay, they have 11 players and they hit form. We get a few injuries and we know what happens. Ridiculous. But they will follow their precedent. In Spain they pick up from where it left off, which seems the fairest conclusion.
  4. Can't think of another Championship club with two washouts in under 12 months.
  5. Being a Rovers fan. When it rains, it pours.
  6. I agree with everything you've put. I just hope he might end up capable of performing well, but I agree that wasn't the plan. Our back 4 is going to end up patched up and different most weeks because of reasons you've put.
  7. Yes he was by time he left and at end of 05/06 season started there in the world cup. Agree squad depth poor, but that's not relevant to if he can play centre half. That's Rudys fault for letting hyam go.
  8. Agree Chaddy. Lucas Neill was a hit headed Aussie signed as a right back, became a very solid centre back. It'll be luck rather than judgement if Miller can be a long term option, but might be capable
  9. Glad Michael Taylor took Orr out.
  10. From the centenary celebrations. A Rovers postmark and label for envelopes , centenary programme (remember them) with better items for sale than we have now and excellent century of soccer by a youthful Harry Berry.
  11. It's too soon to tell. We've taken a gamble in a league where know how counts for a lot. None of us know how half this team will get on. Not to dismiss the question, but just as I can't write a player off after 5 games, I can't suddenly think we've signed some improvements. Let's assess after a dozen games. Fir what its worth I'll plump for after 46 games we will finish lower than last year which is all that matters really. We had the chances the last 4 January's.
  12. I don't know what kind of team we are yet but our 1st XI is competitive, its when those dark nights Sat, Tues cime that worries me, nothing in the Championship should scare us at home. Set up to hit them on the break and a bit of after Lord Mayor's show for Ipswich 1-1.
