  1. Because no-one else deludes themselves into thinking that suggesting players for the club to sign on a forum is of any use whatsoever.
  2. Forgive me for not thinking you playing football manager is the same as real life. We won't spend £5m and if by some miracle we do it won't catapult us 10 places up the league.
  3. Fella you need to start using your brain. We were the 4th worst team in the league last year, arguably worse. Our squad is far pooper than "most teams", and will get worse before the end of the window without investment way beyond £5m. It's not happening but this squad needs at least £15m investment to be competitive.
  4. A very quick point - if you think the quality of the loans under Broughton were even a small part of him leaving them you haven't been paying attention.
  5. None of this remotely proves that Ruddy is the number one target. Not even close.
  6. Do we really need experience? Our squad isn't that young anymore. The only reason the club are looking at Ruddy etc. is because he's free/cheap, not because he brings experience We need quality and numbers, whatever their age.
  7. Would be hoping for some news on Finneran today. Fingers crossed.
  8. Ok, like I said, he's also been wrong. A lot. We won't hire a DoF.
  9. He's also been wrong many, many times. Yeah, he's obviously decently connected but taking what a journo says as gospel is going to leave you disappointed.
  10. Quite. Plenty of fans experience the "what the fuck am I doing here?" while standing freezing their arse off in some Midlands away end, watching their team get tonked by a perennial championship also ran, but the question takes on a deeper meaning when it comes to Rovers. Surely by now the only reasonable explanation is a thought experiment: how long can a long standing football club survive with close to zero funding.
  11. I appreciate that the void left by the lack of communication by the club means people are scrabbling for information, but "Alan nixon said so" is laughable.
  12. Seems the majority have realised we won't be spending any real money this summer. Someone up the page also mentioned a fire sale of current players which wouldn't surprise me in the least. With the known financial challenges and JE's comments I fully expect close to £0 spent on fees this summer. Gally will be our first striker come the start of the season.
  13. Alright well let's just leave it there. No hard feelings.
  14. Let me get this straight; I hate the club if I think it's reasonable that McGuire has a pop at Rovers? If that's your stance I think I'll bow out of the conversation cos that's beyond me.
  15. I wasn't being condescending, I was highlighting that I understand where the issues with the club lie. And no, I'm not including myself. I didn't fly a promising striker over on a promise, take pictures, announce it to the world, damn near get him to sign a contract before sending him packing. Not sure I follow your maccies analogy. If they fuck up your order yeah, don't go back if you don't want to?
  16. Yeah you're right, he should have said the tea lady and the receptionist were exempt from blame and that Rovers have some great fans. When (a lot of) people on here - myself included - say the club stinks from top to bottom I think it's a given we don't mean the fella that mops the floor.
  17. I guess we just disagree as I feel he has every right to criticise the club as a whole. More so than most. Good luck to him finding a club interested in an out of contract international striker? I reckon he'll be fine.
  18. Fella we fucked the player over. He has every right to badmouth the club.
  19. With all due respect, piss off. Don't tell me how to support my club and don't try to police how I feel about it.
  20. Why can't I be angry at the club? I love this club but I can't stand anything about it right now.
  21. The lad thought his dream move was happening. Twice. He was in the building holding up a shirt. I'm sure he has other options and in his shoes I'd be asking for another £5k a week from Rovers to even pick up the phone.
