Experience buys time. Like Batth and Fadz, Ruddy would mean the recruitment team have a year to source a younger player that they see as long term. Experience is always of value.

Pears is wank, the sooner he’s dropped/ sold the better. I’m not against an experienced keeper like Ruddy. They tend to be more solid.

I watched the game. Kaminski was excellent until he had a rush of blood to the head. Im taking about these young keepers who get hyped over older experienced keepers. Young keepers make mistakes.

The GK who went to Stoke (Johanssen) was excitedly spoken about by the GK scouts on here as someone we should have signed. Think @roversfan99 was a big admirer. Just watched the Stone highlights, he gifted Watford 2 goals. Then I watched the Burnley game. Horvath was another spoken about as the 2nd coming of Gordon Banks. He’s hilariously wank. Think @chaddyrovers was huge admirer. This recruitment game isn’t easy!

Nixon will have been tipped off that JE wants to sign Stansfield. It may be JE’s way of putting pressure on the board to spend money. He said after yesterday game that the SS money has to reinvested, and the Board were mentioned in his response. I’d imagine Waggott choked on his cornflakes when he saw the headline!

JE speaks very highly of some players he inherited (Hedges and Carter recently) but reading between the lines I don’t think he’s convinced by many of them. I think Dolan would fit that category. Dolan knows he has to contribute goals and assists if he wants to be a No10, he’s referenced it a couple of times in interviews. I’d imagine that is the message being hammered home to him by JE. If he wants a bumper new contract he’ll have to earn it.

I’m really enjoying the imagination shown by recruitment in this window. Gueye and Ohashi are quality signings and straight out of left-field. Germaine would be the same.

We can also sign a winger. Just because Nixon, who you regularly criticise, hasn’t linked us with one doesn’t mean we don’t want to sign one. You can’t have too many good players. If Germaine is as good as he looks on clips then that would be 3 good attackers (Gueye, Yuki, Germaine) signed for a total of about £2m. If Ruddy comes in and plays it’d be sure JE thinks he can do a job. You have no idea if he’d cost us points. Travis may be replaced by someone better.

JE has said a few times that a lot of the players are on catch-up as they haven’t had a proper pre-season. He repeated after the game yesterday. JE is doing a great job picking up points under those circumstances.

That might we what’s he worth. if he scores 20 goals in the Championship next season he’ll be worth a hell of a lot more.
