  1. Why would the Leeds result impact Season ticket prices/announcement?
  2. The new Sky deal is worth twice as much as the last 1. That will offset any losses that reducing prices would bring. season ticket sales could fall off a cliff next season once people realise just how many games will be televised. we’ll never know how many season tickets we’d sell if we slash prices to Bolton/PNE levels until we actually do it.
  3. Cheers, I get a lot wrong! So not as bad as I thought but still not much value in season tickets if over half a clubs games are televised (if we take it there’ll be an even split between home and away games)
  4. Might be wrong but my understanding is that under the new Sky deal all Championship clubs will be on tv at least 24 times next season. That’s at least 24 games for each club that will be moved from 3pm on a Saturday. That’s a lot of games moved to Friday, Sat lunch, Sunday etc. if you can only commit to Saturdays at 3pm there is very little value in buying a season ticket. the one positive in all this is that Sky have committed to releasing in advance of the season details of which games will be on tv all the way up to Christmas (again might be wrong but that what I read)
  5. Hogan was Eustace’s striker when brum came to Ewood a couple of seasons ago. He played really well. I’ve always thought he was decent. No idea on his age or injury record but might be one we’re interested in.
  6. The meeting did take place in March and was promptly adjourned until August. Rovers then released a statement that as a result of that meeting that there remained only ‘technical and procedural’ matters remaining that ‘should’ have no impact on the funding of Rovers going forward. people can choose what to believe
  7. Something fishy going on. It says Haddow now.
  8. Surprised Cirino and Fyles have also been released. I thought they were highly rated too.
  9. The Indian courts who presumably previously specified that Venkys could only send money to Rovers for a specified time frame before having to return to court. That stipulation, if the WATR statement is true, has now been removed.
  10. Yes, that’s what I meant, that there has been agreement since you met him in Nov that they can now fund the club if an equivalent bond is paid to Indian authorities, regardless of any further court decisions in August.
  11. Who knows? We could do with someone from WATR to confirm what they know.
  12. My guess is that when the court case was adjourned in March there was an agreement that BRFC was not longer impacted beyond providing an equivalent bond for any money they put into Rovers. Hence the statement about the remaining issues only being ‘technical’ on nature. When you met him in November or whenever that may not have been the case.
  13. I don’t know enough about WATR to comment on their effectiveness as a fan advocacy group. I’m loathe to criticise people who give up their own time to be part of those groups. I’ve been on similar non-Rovers related groups and always found most people are in them for the right reasons
  14. I would hope WATR asked probing questions before agreeing to the joint statement. I don’t rate Waggott in the slightest, I think he’s a dreadful CEO, but it really would be a sad day if he has chosen to lie about something so fundamental.
  15. ‘Gregg’s gone’ would have been less insulting!
  16. So further funding not dependant on the court case in August. It offers a glimmer of hope that there could be a semblance of a transfer budget this summer.
  17. I can’t post links for some reason but just found an LT article from April 4th (titled ‘Blackburn Rovers CEO sheds more light on Venkys funding’) it quotes 'We Are THe Rovers’ website as saying there is no further impediment to Venkys providing funding going forward as long as it’s met with an equivalent bond (paraphrasing). There is nothing about that arrangement being dependant on the court case in August.
  18. The only way the club can progress is to reinvest a portion of player sales into new players who will make the team stronger. Using player sales to keep the lights on will only end one way - a well lit club in L2.
  19. So the £5m Raya money is going to be swallowed up by running costs, just like the first installment of the Wharton money?
  20. Sam Barnes being released according to Jackson
  21. We spent money last summer when we had no budget so it’s not much of a punt to say we’ll spend after selling Wharton and profiting from Raya.
