  1. Assuming we are in a play off race, results today have gone and are going in our favour. 3 points would be rather terrific.
  2. Crazy to think we can afford to rest probably our best player for a game that represents our best chance of 3 points in the next 3 games.
  3. It was said on here (can’t remember by whom) that Siggy refused to play for the U21s and so Eustace is getting rid in Jan.
  4. He’s a better player than he’s given credit for on here ….. but you’re right, he’s a waste of space because of his injury problems.
  5. I think HL is the most naturally gifted striker at the club. I don’t see his size being an issue, just as it isn’t for lots of other successful Championship strikers of a similar size. Hopefully the goal the other day gives him the confidence he needs to push for a regular starting spot. I think he has a lot of potential.
  6. ‘Lovely cushioned header’. You’re definitely his agent😉
  7. The Golden Boot is his to lose.
  8. Probably a fair comment from SG at the time. Looks a bit silly now.
  9. I think he just divides opinion because his performances are quite erratic.
  10. What’s your opinion on Walters?
  11. I think he probably had a big input into where he is now. We have him a chance and he took it. He owes us nowt. We are offering a pay rise, just clearly not as big as he wants.
  12. I was talking more from an ability standpoint. I’m sure he will get a Champ contract, just as Hedges has and will. I think they’re both top end L1/bottom end Championship attackers. Dolan’s next contract may be his last in the Championship. He may pick a club that doesn’t utilise him properly and he disappears into L1. Patrick Robert’s, to give a topical example, is a level above both.
  13. He doesn’t owe the club anything. if he leaves on a free there’s no fee for the buying club so he can ask for more. If he signs a contract the buying club in the summer then has to pay a fee, money that could otherwise have been spent giving him a bigger wage.
  14. I think it’s a bit more nuanced than that. There are levels within levels. He isn’t at the level of some other Championship attackers. Then again we can’t afford those players. Personally I think he could easily disappear into League 1 …..when he’s bad he can be really bad (like most away games)
  15. Louis Barry is more of a wide forward than a striker. Think he plays off the left for Stockport.
  16. Question: Name the current Rovers players who should be earning more than Dolan?
  17. Good post. What we don’t know is what the hold up is regarding Dolan’s contract. Is he asking to be one of the top earners on a long term contract, or are Rovers taking the piss with their offer? Personally, I think he’s a decent Championship player who is capable of having some really good games. He has a fairly unique style of play and can make things happen when he’s on it, but he also makes poor decisions. Sunderland summed him up, missed a sitter but also set up a goal by running at their defence in a way no one else in our squad can. My main gripe with him is that away from Ewood Park he’s fairly useless. He’s a classic ‘homer’ in that respect, all his good games come at home. If he’s been tapped up and can get more money than we’re offering him then fair play to him. If he’s being offered less than some of the wasters in our squad (Siggy for one) then you can’t blame him for being a bit peeved. He should also be on more than the likes of Gueye and Hedges.
  18. He looks no smaller than Ohashi. I think he has a lot of potential, it’s just how best to develop him. Perhaps a loan to a L1 club in Jan if we sign a striker.
  19. Peeps predicting a 3-0 win. The football gods aren’t keen on hubris. We’re getting beat.
  20. S’land had a young, athletic team. This is the area we lack, especially with Trav out. They overran us 2nd half because the likes of Baker, Cantwell and Hedges were knackered after putting so much into the first half.
  21. 7 figures according to the LT when we signed him, remember seeing £1.5m at the time. edit: just looked it up and Jackson said £1m, not the £1.5m I thought.
  22. I don’t blame Gueye for not being able to kick it straight, I blame whoever decided to pay £1.5m for him. He’s a decent impact sub when we’re behind, but £1.5m is a huge amount for us to splash out at the moment.
  23. Why would the defender intentionally pass it to the opposition attacker?
