  1. He was up against it yesterday but I think Brittain has improved massively this season under Eustace. And some of his passing is top drawer. He fair pings the ball forward now at pace into feet.
  2. We did it against Millwall and shoved Cantwell out wide left….we were poor and lost the midfield as a result. Cantwell is hit and miss, but we played well the first half yesterday because Cantwell has the quality to look after the ball and keep play progressing.
  3. Not always true. The position on the pitch where most goals are created from is the channel that runs down the width of the box. Players cutting inside tend to move away from that position. The reason managers play wingers on their wrong side is to open up that channel by dragging the full back inside. It’s then the CMs job or the attacking full backs job to move into that channel to cross the ball into the middle. Very few wingers are capable of cutting in on their stronger foot and scoring with any regularity.
  4. That Oxford game was mental! The majority of the crowd were leathered! Fantastic atmosphere
  5. Harry Leonard has excellent movement , that was obvious under JDT. Unfortunately he just kept missing the target with the chances he created with his movement. In the post match interview today Eustace referenced the difficult time HL has had over the last 7 months, but said he’d seen a difference in training over the last 10 days. Hopefully HL can now put the difficult period behind him and start fulfilling his obvious potential.
  6. He deserves to be backed, he’s squeezing every last drop out of that squad. Waggott and Gestede will probably tell him the cupboard is bare but that Eustace should still be grateful!
  7. I didn’t think you were trying to catch me out👍 I agree it’s nowt to crow about, just posted it as a point of interest (or not!)
  8. It was somewhere around that number. maybe a few hundred more. My walk-on number was a rough estimate
  9. You’ve tied yourself in knots. Only Houdini can escape from that! Not sure what buzz fizz is but I think I probably need some now.
  10. 24900 on today. That must be about 9k walk-ons.
  11. But your initial point was that modern wingers play as inverted wingers i.e. on their wrong side so they come inside. Now you’re saying Dolan isn’t a winger cos he ‘plays inside’ Lay off the eggnog!😉
  12. ManUre are such a poor team considering how much they’ve spent. 4 of their next 5 games are Newcastle, Liverpool, Brighton and Fulham. It would be a shame if they got embroiled in a relegation battle!
  13. So wingers play on their natural sides like Ripley and Wilcox, but ACD is our only natural winger? Make it make sense!
  14. Pickering is very underrated as a defender.
  15. I thought Cantwell was good first half, but disappeared 2nd half. He’s certainly a luxury player, but he has quality on the ball nobody else has in our forward areas. He doesn’t seem the fittest lad though. I think he’ll frustrate but I’m glad he’s here. The difference today was in the wide areas. Both their wingers were excellent. Hopefully Eustace gets the left winger he wants in January.
  16. It did, there’s a player in there if he could liven up a bit!
  17. Cantwell not good enough but you’re not sure on Gueye? That’s some take!
  18. Eustace wants a striker and a left winger in Jan so let’s hope his prayers are answered.
  19. They aren’t great defensively, but they have some really good attackers.
  20. Great game. Fully deserved a point. Sunderland are a good team. Well done Harry Leonard.
  21. Get the fuck in! We deserved that!
  22. Nothing strange about this. We were excellent first half but didn’t kill the game when we had clear cut chances. 2nd half was always going to be different. They have some really good players.
  23. Gueye really is a waste of space. Prove me wrong!
