  1. No, I definitely replied to something you wrote.
  2. Winning after a poor half is surely a good sign. Hopefully the performance improves 2nd half
  3. From the LT: Today is the 700th consecutive match with an Academy graduate in the match day squad
  4. He’s 83 and hasn’t played competitive football in 8 months.
  5. GK - Pears is average and he’s the best we’ve got. At most Championship clubs he’d be backup. CB - With Carter injured we’re another injury away from real trouble. We play with 2 DMs so there’s no like for like swap in there. We have no cover at RB. JRC is an accident waiting to happen and Duru is unproven. LB is an area where we don’t need reinforcements. LW is poor - Hedges and Siggy are just not good enough. AM - Cantwell and Dolan are good options. RW - Dolan is inconsistent and ACD unproven. Striker options are average at best. The first XI is competitive, the replacements either unproven or proven inadequate. I think the quality of the manager is papering over a lot of cracks in the squad.
  6. Like I said, you misunderstood the meaning. Not everything is literal, even if it does allow for pedantry. If a squad lacks ‘depth’ it means that beyond the first XI the squad is a bit shit. Always has done, always will do. I cannot help that you don’t know that.
  7. A squad having depth is a reference to quality i.e. strength in depth. It’s not a reference to quantity. It’s a common reference in football discussion. I’m surprised you misunderstood.
  8. To clarify, I meant depth in quality. Drafting an U18 in cos Hyam and Baath are injured is not depth. If one or both of those two get injured we’re a bit fooked at present.
  9. I think we lack depth in virtually every position on the pitch.
  10. At current rate of PPG we’re on course for 75pts, which most years would just about get you in the play offs IIRC. 10 points from the next 6 games would be a continuation of that play off form.
  11. It’s unacceptable. ‘It’s not perfect’ is a cop out.
  12. A box lol. Does it have a lid on it to keep the rain out? It’s not really helpful for people in the JW or Riverside either. It’s also not inclusive, which was the original point. Other clubs have designated covered areas in the stands where wheelchair users can watch the match like any other fan and enjoy the same atmosphere.
  13. Interesting self-congratulatory stuff about inclusion. It’s a shame they can’t be inclusive enough to provide wheelchair users with an area under a covered stand during a game. Im looking forward to Waggott coming and joining the drenched wheelchair users the next time it’s pissing it down. The horrible twat.
  14. Alan Shearer also confirmed that those in the corridors of power at Ewood had admitted to him that AW was sold on the cheap. And we know why, and Shearer knew why.
  15. Think we had close to 22k against Leeds. If we do well in the next few games a gate of 25k for Sunderland is not unthinkable. Lots of families go on the football Boxing Day who rarely bother for rest of the year.
  16. Is Stritch any good? Does Higgins look a special talent?
  17. For those of a certain vintage.
  18. JRC looked a really good CM under JDT. He made some really good runs into the box, which would have resulted in him getting simple tap-ins if we’d have been able to cross the ball properly. He’s got a good range of passing too. No idea what’s going on with him fitness-wise but every time he’s played this seasons he’s looked off the pace.
  19. Yeah, I thought Baker was more of an attacking mid….I think Buckley will get the nod. I’m looking forward to him trotting round and playing flamboyant 5 yards sideways passes😉
  20. Good stat. Unless of course Buckley or JRC replaces Travis
