  1. I actually thought Gueye was a bit of a liability when he came on. Ohashi was superb all game. I think he’ll make a great No10.
  2. Really chuffed with that win, we weren’t particularly good but we dug it out. Reminded me of the first 6 months under JDT when we used to eke out narrow home wins. Thought Tronstad, JRC and Yuki were the standout performers. The back 4 were collectively good and it’s noticeable how well drilled they are. We don’t give up many chances from open play. Trav worked like a Trojan and I thought gave a really good Captain’s performance in a tough match. Great goal by Siggy, such a technically good footballer, probably the best in the team. It’s just his work rate and lack of pace works against in. It was interesting how much JE cajoled him to close down. You can see where the issue is! Great noise from the BBE in the 2nd half! Credit to Oxford, I thought they looked a good team. I think they will surprise a few this season. Really good subs from the manager again. Really impressed with Eustace, he’s doing a really good job overall.
  3. We’ve been poor, but 1-1 at half time is a fair score. We desperately lack pace.
  4. I’m just a bit chuffed we appear to have 2 good strikers to choose from.
  5. They don’t lose many at Ewood. I’ll stick with my 1-1 prediction from earlier in the week.
  6. The only good option for a loan is if the player you loan is better than what you’ve already got.
  7. It’s not really a success rate if you say to every link ‘that’s not happening’. Another way of looking at it is that you’re 100% wrong on the ones we have signed. But, yeah, Stansfield isn’t happening at £6m.
  8. We know all that. We also know that money is not being reinvested. So the likes of Rushworth, if he’s an improvement on Pears, are good short term signings. This is a club operating on a hand-to- mouth basis. That’s just the reality.
  9. We don’t, that’s the problem. That money is disappearing.
  10. Why is it an issue from a footballing perspective? Surely the idea is to improve on Pears, who is a liability.
  11. When asked why WATR weren’t calling for the owners to leave you responded with the above. Re your last sentence: now that August 20th has come and gone with no resolution, is the discussion on WATR’s ‘future direction’ underway? Or is it still ‘Venky’s In’?
  12. Agreed. No history of big followings from Oxford, like you say they just don’t have the fanbase. 1300 is good for them.
  13. That was a crazy day. About 28k home fans, most of them bladdered. Rovers fans getting battered by other Rovers fans trying to get back on the BBE after the pitch invasions during the match.
  14. As Jeff Stelling would have said, we’ve more chance of getting Lisa Stansfield.
  15. Which means there’s no tangible benefit to the club of their ownership.
  16. It’s encouraging just how many negative posts there on the Rovers twitter page in response to the statement from the owners.
  17. Not a great result but Palace scored 3 of their goals in injury time. Palace will also have vastly superior resources even at that level. The ambition for our U21s is to produce players for the Championship.
  18. I’d imagine that’s a load of shite.
  19. Just wondering if Rovers had been on to them. Or Travis. Reputational damage is a thing.
  20. Think you might be quids in there. Luton might need to get 3 though!
  21. Are there an ITKs in the world of media? Why would this be deleted? On the back of a threat of legal challenge etc?
  22. Interesting stat: we’re one of only 7 teams across the 92 who haven’t suffered back-to-back league defeats in 2024. The others are Citeh, Liverpool, Villa, Arsenal, Ipswich and Lincoln.
  23. The weird attention seeker called Nathan has said on twitter a keeper deal has been agreed and will be announced early next week. So, in the last week of the window, we’re going to sign a keeper, which the club has said we need. Nathan is a prophet.
