  1. Not if he's told from above that we owe future instalments and don't want to or can't pay them.
  2. The initial fee quoted for Gueye when this BS first came out was c800k. Nobody is paying millions for him so there is no point whatsoever selling but this is skint Rovers where the budget gets cut summer on summer and what happened last year has little bearing on this. So anything could happen.
  3. Weimann scored/assisted a handful Dolan scored assisted a handful Gueye..... That's now a lot of goals and assists.
  4. Exactly, we need a big front lad like that in the squad it's what we've been missing for years. Whether he wants to stay at do that though is another matter.
  5. I'd say so. 'No fee has been agreed but personal terms are being discussed' 'A 3 tear contract is on the table' etc Er... to talk personal terms to a player under contract a fee must first be agreed and permission granted, nobody goes public with stuff like that unless Rovers have agreed to release him already. So it whiffs of someone trying to drum up interest or it's tapping up.
  6. A bit suspicious this Gueye stuff i wonder who is really putting it out there,
  7. Not fit to hold Adam Wharton's jockstrap yet only 3 million cheaper. Stick a plodder in a world famous shirt and badge for a few mins and potential buyers go giddy.
  8. They seem to have gone around the young British coach type route too often, guys who either guarantee nothing but stability or flop. If they'd gone for a JDT and backed him it could be a different story.
  9. We've also seen Luton and Ipswich bounce through the Championship. If you can spend on quality to add to momentum surely you can do something although too many new faces could maybe disrupt that. Sadly like us Hull and Stoke are the ultimate going nowhere anytime soon clubs due to the idiots who run them, in some ways the Bet365 mob are the British version of early Venky's although you'd 'bet' on them getting it right sooner or later but they'll end up in the crap with FFP as well probably.
  10. Actually i was about to say how good it would be if Eustace bailed on Derby for Wrexham mid season πŸ˜‰
  11. It's not about spending what you wish it's just being able to invest up front in the first year of a new cycle but no one seems to be a hundred percent sure how it all works so it's no wonder clubs fall foul of it. I'm not up to speed on any of it but i did read somewhere it's different rules in league 1 so presumed they might get a reset on promotion to the Championship although that wouldn't make much sense either. They are going to have to go some in the next few years to cover the fees and wages they are chucking around but with an average gate probably less than us.
  12. Netflix, USA merchandise income etc, plus doesn't their new cycle start now they've been promoted ? Meaning they can spend big for now at least.
  13. You aren't paying attention to the new club policy here. Best he'll be offered in another year on the same terms or maybe two years at a push but on less and he'll already be aware of this given whats happened.
  14. He probably already knows he won't be offered anything beyond 12 months at a time so he's thinking ahead, i think that is closer to the truth.
  15. Brum are on a roll cue the usual derogatory chants from clowns who've never been out of New Street before. Never mind the bods upstairs at Ewood will be delighted and have a line already to spin back to India 'look a 20k crowd' !!! For the record not long ago Brum were averaging about 16k and regularly used to bring sub 2k to Ewood - In the Prem.
  16. Exactly. Re-investing the loose change from his already budgeted for wage on a lower paid cheap player is more akin to how they operate here.
  17. I think any run of the mill or young manager or head coach will take the first serious job offered to them if they've been out of work a while and aren't multi millionaires. As said it's a no lose situation as you get big rewards if successful and rewarded anyway for failure, many of them are only in it for a wage and because they know nothing else. Whenever has anyone heard of a club never being able to attract a first team boss ?
  18. A commission generator for the 3rd party in the shadows is one train of thought.
  19. Yes they absolutely know the risk they are running with this model but it's either they aren't that concerned where it will eventually lead or they have no choice because the finance backers of Venkys are finally saying enough is enough.
  20. A 'package' of 3.5 mill πŸ€” So it's about 2 million in instalments and a bunch of may or may not trigger add ons then. Still it'll easily cover this summers real outlay. Onto the loan market we go.....
  21. Their costs have rocketed post covid/Ukriane like most other businesses and it has impacted their profit margins significantly although i think they still corner the market over their across the whole chicken spectrum. Investing in it though is probably a lot less attractive than it was 5 years ago.
  22. Says just as much about this stupid set up as it does about him.
  23. Pretty sure it's just an AI run account the crap on it is relentless.
  24. How much is liquidity ? Also they don't put it into Rovers so do they put it back into the core businesses or just borrow more ? To be fair their company credit rating as off last year was still strong but carries the warnings about the volatility of their market, the rise in costs AND it mentioned them still having fund a massive loss making foreign entity ! Oh and the seizure of assets. So owning and funding the football club is now potentially having an impact on their main business if not their overall personal wealth. They've stopped funding it but won't stop owning it.
