  1. This season with all your support WE can get to a Cup Semi-Final for the first time since I was a nipper. And Johnny Stead can take us there.Plus Aaron(a man a match) Mokoena can cement our mobile midfield to our solid defence. Who you gonna nobble next week,Aaron.? DON'T MISS IT!
  2. MGP .... all the doubters should be kicked off the board! Famous for ever more and I mean EVER. Just as famous as the legend that is Boxing Day and 3 -2. Whatever happens now he will always be remembered. A goal to win ANY match at ANY time. And he chose the Dingles at home in the Cup - a few minutes from the final whistle. A new Duffer - now play him at centrer-forward like we did with Duffer.
  3. There's 2 full days left...but the BRFC promotion machine is silent. This is a great chance to boost the gate for the rest of the Season and then S/T sales for 2005/6. Also why are we worried about infiltration. We will be well up to push the team to victory and any Dingles will be outnumbered 50 to 1. They will just want to run on the pitch and have their day in the sun(despite it being an evening match) The Rovers fans will be roaring from 7.15 so get there early and don't stay at the bars. 2-0 with Johannsen and MGP scoring.I think we should play Short.
  4. This is the best thread EVER. Passion, Venom,Rational argument,Customer care theory and Practice. And still I'm up for it ....but just a second where's my 7s 6d Postal Order from April 1960?
  5. Latest Sales figures Mr.Grooby. I know you're in there somewhere.
  6. Lets stop worrying, the time to sell tickets is only 55% thru. Too many people are looking at this statistically!
  7. Maybe 5000 left...we're doing fine. That's 18,000 sold -don't be so gloomy. All we need is more P.R. from Club to encourage anyone put off by Tuesday/Wednesday. Let's hope there's a repeat next week with Leicester tickets!
  8. PLEASE on Friday can somebody tell us how many have been sold. 5,000 per day = 15,000 plus lesser nos on Friday,Sat,Sun and monday. Even at 2,000 per day it should be 23,000 plus 7,000 knuckle-draggers by last thing Monday. Put us out of our exstacy that the stay-aways might have found their way back.
  9. Now that's sorted can we not have a: TICKETS LEFT: 4959 ticker Surely Mr. Grooby could help, its public information.
  10. Well done Den! It was worth it. Thanks for Forrest,Southworth and Latheron- showing that we have to pass the history of the Rovers down thru the generations.Next year is the 130 th year and I still have my Centenary beer mug. It was ironic that we speak of Parkes,Garner,Duggie/Ronnie and Sir Bob Crompton in hallowed tones just as we had the incident of "Soft Bazza" slinking off -the least revered Captain in Rovers history. More people will remember Jimmy Kerr from the early 70s who played about 8 scintillating games and then was badly injured than ever will remember Barry Ferguson. Thanks for the journey.
  11. Got 5 tickets for Riverside at 5.10 pm today after a 40 minute wait.Full Marks there were 10 windows open!! the queue was 2/3 rds down blackburn end when I joined it and still there when I got to window. Excellent service...was told by Security Chief that there was no queue at 9.15 am...this is where your granny helps.DON'T BE PUT OFF.
  12. Tugay,Gally, johansson underwhelmed the effort. We don't need a stronger defence but a re-shaped attack. The difference from 4 years ago was the 3 gems..Dunn,Duff and jansen. FFS put Stead in before Gally or the little 16 yr old pretending to be 20.An absolutely worthless substitution. Rovers fans brilliant...now 16,000 more buy tickets or me and thenodrug will get fed up again.
  13. Game plan for Sunday..go for corners and let MGP take about 6 of those wicked inswingers!! It makes Notlobs tactics look soooo feeble. No..get MGP one corner and he will soften em up with the first 2 winning the game with the 3rd. A legend is born.
  14. With 60 hours to go, Friarsnig great post. Andy82 ...I played for the Zebras in the 70s after transferring from Appleby-Frodingham.But don't get too carried away they were well down the pyramid then. Also my lowest Rovers moment came then...One Season I struggled to get to Hull City in the fog and it was called off.And a few weeks later Rovers played bloody Lincoln City in the League Cup and we lost 3-0 away from home and were shambolic. There seemed like no hope and yet 23 years later we won The Premiership. Thanks Uncle Jack and in 59 hours we will shout your name.Keep the Faith.
  15. The 80 Coaches will create the perfect snow-plough phalanx as they move in perfect formation out of the Burnley district and back to "Success City". Now have you ever spent a night in Burnley? And will you even see the word phalanx ever attempted on Claretmad never mind spelt correctly! And its not about losing your voice...60 hours to go and counting.
  16. Andy82 brother. my 5 teams: 1.Rovers 2.Rovers Reserves 3.Rovers Youth team 4.Scunthorpe United 5.Brigg Town(played for them when I worked in Scunny) This is a diversionary thread to syphon off the PMT.Only 63 hours to go...and 60 from leaving house for Coach.
  17. Coach 66. My dream last night ended with us all singing " 3 - 0 and we can't go home" The good news was we were winning and there was still 20 mins left + 30 minutes in the cowshed before the 80 Coaches circle the dingledome. And can we just call em the Dingles rather than the B######s like in Saturdays warm up session. Its more pointed. How many minutes to Sunday morning setting off for Ewood?
  18. After logically thinking Chris Sutton...wanting to vote for Tony Field, knowing it was probably Southworth, wishing it had been Fred Pickering I voted blind SIMON GARNER!! And then found out that 50%...old and young...had voted with their hearts. A week before the trip to Yorkshire I am not surprised. Get the plane ready with the message!
  19. " John - i want you to play the next 5 games and make the place your own and forget about the season so far...as far as I'm concerned for you it starts today" Overheard Hughesy to Stead 2pm today. Come on lets warm up for next week and thanks to everyone making a special effort to be there today( and NO Thanks to anyone making a lame excuse and missing todays vital match) With 28 points and April's fixtures we can concentrate on the Cup.
  20. Got my 3 tickets by 10.45 this morning and think the system was fair.Earlier on Monday got 2 tickets for me and mate with 2 Away stubs. So The first 2 were rewarded and if I had been too late for remaining 3 then it would have been unfortunate but tough. As a Sofia Away queuer who got to the outside door but no further when queueing for Celtic away then this was much fairer. 14,000 does go into 3,800 but the result is 0.271 or 1 chance in 5 of a ticket. Ask Jim what it were like in 1960 wi'th postal ballot!
  21. Briggs and Garner only in lower leagues. Sutton and Southworth at top level. Southworth scored most goals and most England caps. It is much easier to emotionally vote for Jansen or Garner. This last choice is going to be a farce and I can see the vote being split 4 or 5 ways. HELP!
  22. Got 2 of mine at 1.30pm ...steady trickle by then. Back Wednesday for the 3 others we need. Numbers so far about right - need to show Dingles and Brum how to run a ticket operation(after years of trying and failing)
  23. How would "soft bazza" have coped with the Cup Draw?.As he came out the tunnel at the Dingledome and tasted the venom he probably would have turned round and run back for his mamma. They may have been only average for us but at least no one will forget Jason MaCateer and Benty. FA Cup matches like that are where you prove your fitness to wear the badge and the legendary colours and "Soft Bazza" has swapped it for Partick Thistle.
  24. Queueing at Ewood is like being with your extended family. Queueing at The Turf Bog is being with your family(if you could think) And while we're at it : "Hitler made the autobahn to get his tanks into other countries... The Department of Transport made the M65 to get the 80 Rovers Coaches safely to Turf Moor" ANON
  25. And importance to the Club e.g. Southworth,Garner,Briggs,Ted Harper and the great Tony Field. I shall probably vote for Sutton ...when have Rovers players ever been known by their initials worldwide? S.A.S.
