  1. Koyle or Ke-oyle is the right name for him. Its like the return of Satan.
  2. Couldn't watch it. If it looks like @#/?,smells like @#/? then it probably is... Until Venkys leave we just have to keep the faith. Uncle Jack would be crying his eyes out. Desperate days.
  3. Yes it has to be VEXIT rather than REXIT. Its how we keep the 'core' fans whilst VEXIT is taking so long. I am desperate and 3000kms away til August.
  4. Aaahhh 'when you are without Love' Well it was the Walker Brothers, related to Walker Trust ? I will get my coat(and Season Ticket)
  5. If they appoint Coyle 'the Sun aint gonna shine anymore' believe me.
  6. Oh I have seen Gareth in action and he is just what we need.....apart from the fact that he is on a 'loser' with these Owners. So what's the point. But please stop slagging off one of our own(again)
  7. As only a Blackburn Rovers Supporter I am happy that an East Lancs version of the "Blackpool - Fleetwood" scenario has been avoided.
  8. Prediction: Bristol Rovers to pip Stamley for 3rd promotion spot and Gareth Ainsworth's Wycombe Wanderers to beat Stamley in the Play-Offs(before taking over from Paul Lambert, when he inevitably resigns.)
  9. What are the Odds on Accy Stanley getting above us in the League Structure? And will their average gates be above 2,000 soon?
  10. If they get promoted they will be the poorest supported team in Div 1 EVER. They make the old Wimbledon FC seem well supported.
  11. Beat MK Dons and we still have 2 games in hand. Big Sam would have planned to reach 40 points and how to do it; then try to get to 50 points by beating the teams around us. And that in the Premiership!
  12. Lend 3 of them to Stanley in return for the loan of Dean Windass' son?
  13. Until Venkys go we will not improve. They cannot find a good replacement for Gazza -which one of the fools is going to look? It was only going to be a Relegation fight this season. We needed to sell Rhodes, get out of FFP and re-balance the team. The Fulham midfield of Cairney,Ohara and Tunnicliffe might have been ours. Must win vs Charlton.
  14. And that is why we have to brace ourselves for more trauma as we struggle this season again. Same thing happened in the late 60s until we were in Division 3 and needed Ken Furphy and then Gordon Lee. The power game was different then - and we had some 'hope' and always a team of triers. The difference this time is we have owners with'loadsamoney' -unfortunately they have absolutely no idea and the slowest decision making/communication system of any Business owners known to man. The rest of the 'Management' is 'not fit for purpose' and needs cleansing -but that comes after the Owners deciding(if they can) what to do with the Club. They cannot decide what to do on Rhodesy so do not hold your breath.
  15. Charts the decline and fall with considerable love and poignancy.
  16. Thanks Dean Jones. negative comments are the posters' problem. BRAG actions,Trust progress, the Documentary coming out,Dean's article are a front of action from committed supporters. The word you are looking for is BRILLIANT. Bring it on!
  17. After a few days away from Internet access I have just caught up with all the features on Ronnie Clayton's funeral and all the tributes. The one thing that struck me was the celebration of our heroes is part of what makes us a great Football club and Institution. The Rovers really matter in an age of quick obsolescence and rapid change. I am sure the new family of Venky's soon to be involved in the club have caught the mood and the general vibes. The Club of Southworth,Crompton,Healless,Clayton,Douglas,Fazackerley,Garner and Hendry is the sum of all the memories and it survives everyone and everything.
  18. Two quick replies to recent comments: -my Grandma and Grandad were in the crowd of 62000 in 1929 versus Bolton - 'we could not get our hands down to eat our sandwiches' was my Grandma's comment -no mention of Bryan Douglas and his England chances can miss out the words 'Johnny' and 'Haynes'. The London press always thought that Haynes was better than 'Dougie' but on his day(and there were many) the guy was like Messi and absolutely unstoppable. He also scored with his hand once in the Darwen End and he and Fergie(Mike Ferguson) played a trick on Fred Else in a League Cup match at a pen for rovers when Fred was in the Barrow goal(I think) Not enough has been said about the effect of this untimely death on dear old Dougie....the two guys have been inseperable for 60 years, and probably have met up together 3 times a week sinsce they retired(now 40 years ago).We now have to preserve Dougie as well. I think the idea of the new gates is a brilliant idea....but a big facsimile of Ronnies diving header versus Liverpool on one big Ewood wall is more fitting than naming a stand after him.I also think that Big Colin Hendry should be brought into things more at Ewood, as another legend of the good and not so good times. Not enough is made of the Full Members Cup win on the long-suffering supporters of the 70s and 80s.Maybe a picture of a Dougie weaving run and the Big Yin's block at Everton away in 95 should also be enlarged on a big banner ...like at Man City.
  19. When we debate Rovers legends on this Board the late Ronnie Clayton will never be disputed as one of the Club's all time greats in its 135 years history. Ronnie and the other 'twin pillar' Dougie were a fixture for over 20 years from 1950 to the late 60s. Their retirement was part of the start of the 'dark' period from 1967 to 1989...and only ended by 'Uncle jack' and the Full Members Cup Final. Only watching on TV today from far away I will be thinking of his wife Val,his best mate Dougie and the thing he would have wanted above all other things today...a Rovers Win. Gone too soon.
  20. Over-used word'legend' my arse. Journeyman full back - just about average. Bill Eckersley,Keith Newton, graeme le Saux legends. Bob Crompton -titan/pivotal legend. Proportionality.
  21. For me Benni and Roberts should both be out of the door. When Benni plays everyone moans anyway....clearly we have had his best few years and he costs too much. Cannot believe we missed James Beattie last Christmas....how many has he scored this year? Much more a BFS player. The team needs incremental improvement...only 20% this year unfortunately, followed by 10% in January 2010 then another 20% in the summer. We have to be patient - it would just be useful to know what kind of beast this BFS Bolton Mk 2 is going to turn into. Our hopes rest on Dunny staying fit, keeping Samba, Kalinic coming thru, and NZonzi and Robbo continuing to improve(plus Givet finding a slot). That's the half of the team in place...then the 50% improvement over 2 windows.
  22. Great idea...could I add something to the idea. How about the half-season ticket goes to a specific primary school to be used by a nominated pupil for each match. This could suck in up to 20 pupils for the season. Rovers and a number of schools should be up for it. "The Overseas Exiles season-ticket sponsorship Scheme"
  23. Sorry, just posting after 17 of us (YES 17) at wedding today. All Rovers season ticket holders who thought the match might be transferred to a Sunday. So gutted when this was the week only BRFC did not play. BUT we won and we will all be at Newcastle and Nancy.
  24. Come back from Bulgaria for this match and a possible UEFA home game(!!) Who is the referee and can we score first? 2-1 Liverpool.
