  1. If you haven't got tickets for the Baggies on saturday you need to get them fast. Will they understand when we chant RIO RIO RIO just like we used to chant BEAMO! Will we have recovered by then? It is definitely in my top 5 matches of all time and I haven't positioned it in the top 5 with the others. - Newcastle Utd 1995 the Bottle game - Plymouth 5-2 in 1975 - Derby County play-offs home and away - Full members Cup Final:the Rovers resurrection and not forgetting League cup Final win,Play Off final win and 2 matches from the 60s: Blackpool in FA Cup and the 7-2 win v Spurs: and for the rare person there the 8-3 win at West ham (1963? -not there but listened to it on the radio): and Charlton away(1959?-when we got promotion-again on radio up Shad) And only one Shearer game there...3-3 Palace Away? Duff at brum The Bolton annihilation when we got promo back to Premier..and Wigan away this season. Best chants...Jingle Bells anywhere and "Are you Burnley in disguise" used for the first time last night v the Scum. MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC
  2. The next Tugay sits under our noses and is as Blackburn as most of us...and will cost nothing to bring back from Stoke City. Its Paul Gallagher...the next Teddy Sheringham.
  3. After going to nearly a thousand Away Matches since the 50s the Away at Wigan is now in the TOP 10 for goals ,atmosphere and sheer joy at our team. The shot by Reid is the hardest I have ever seen...beating Shearer v QPR and the sonic boom of Tugay at Soton. All in all well pleased and for over 5000 of us to see it FANTASTIC. Me and my mate had tears in our eyes when 5k sang Jingle Bells at the end. The best chant in football cos you've won and its helped make a good Xmas. So rejoice and don't let the boot boys spoil the memory. See you all at Man U away.
  4. Our consortia is up to 8 tickets for Wigan match so could be 16 to 20 by end of next week. 5000 may not be enough and we will surely be buying tickets for Wigan areas as well. Pie or no pies.
  5. Last night there were 3 from our Youth Team finalists(Dunn, taylor and Johnson) With Duff and Beattie they have all made the Premiership. Bring Dunn and Beattie back in 2006/7. Also another rabid Rovers supporter plays for QPR....Gareth Ainsworth. Don't forget to give him a good welcome.
  6. And what do we do as a group of fans as soon as we find out Halsey is refereeing us again? Cos if he really is from Bolton and not Crawshawbooth then he will get another one of the Derby matches. Don't forget Mike Riley(supposedly from leeds) worked at Nelson & Colne College for 10 years!! And look what he did to us. Anyone writing to Keith Hackett at the Premier League Referees...we need his e-mail address.
  7. Offer Everton £2m for Beattie at Xmas and the team will be balanced and within our means. Rovers for the Cup! ANY.
  8. Agree with DanLad completely and the way the match went has completely ruined my weekend. The whole day started with the crap Cup draw and ended at 3.30pm. I want to see halsey relegated...where was young mark Clattenberg? He was in the prog as ref and he's good. The handball and last man professional foul was not brought in for tame technical fouls like yesterday and we were goners from the moment the daft lino intervened. Are we appealing?
  9. Surely as fans we are not trying to spur the opposition. The Cisse chants were bound to be counter-productive whilst the Crouch activity was just funny. And why are we chanting about Burnley at Anfield? Brought back Lyons away in EUFA Cup and look where they are now. I was close to the cerfuffle when Cisse scored and I just hope the Rovers Dad plus two very upset kids forgive the fans in Rows 9 to 12.If the Stewards hadn't been so thick you would have been sorted out. And now we definitely know we were right and might have won with all 11 on pitch.Too bleeding late.
  10. Scared now to support thenodrug on the Lancs United strategy because you are not allowing the MB to be a collection of ideas. I have always said that the Lancs Utd suggestion is about the urban joining together of Preston/Blackburn over the next 20 years. Just watch what happens to Samlesbury and BAe from 2006-10. Leaving that aside we should be looking constantly at Charlton,Ipswich and Norwich - the way they attract and keep supporters, the way they sell tickets, the way Charlton involves its non-white community. We have to innovate....create Bleachers areas like US baseball and use the top of the Darwen End as a neutrals area with incentives to join the fans in the rest of the ground. And we want the optimism of when we had the three gems .. Duff,Dunn and Jansen. Now I am off to Bulgaria tomorrow...booking the flight before Sky moved the bloody match. So I missed the Wimbledon match in 96 and now the great man's last match. Pigsick.
  11. The joys of being a Season Ticket holder.I close my eyes and can see the Pederson goal move from start to finish. And then for added joy the Tugay goal in technicolor. And all for £390 and it lasts til mid-May. Exstacy!
  12. Having read the thread from the start and then realising it started in early 2004! Leaving aside MY support for Lancashire United and my 10 point plan of 2004, we score 2 absolute World-class goals, there's a match against sexy Spurs this week and there is a queue after the match so ONLY 2 bleeding windows open. If we have to have a ground out of town we need to sell tickets how and when people are ready to pay...have we looked at the methods employed by Ipswich and Charlton yet?? If we are a small-town Club we have to be smart....as a minimum.
  13. Anybody got any new Season ticket holders? My tally so far is 1 renewal,1 working on and 2 prospective new Season Ticket holders. Can we not work on the 10 who haven't renewed.
  14. When you are feeling low is the time to be a real supporter. Don't moan stick in there(especially RB). Can you just imagine what it was like at the bottom of the 3rd in the early 70s? Were we mugs or fans? That's why in Summer 95 we had a Rovers party all the way thru the Summer(not the same house) Signing Bellamy gives the OOOMMMPPPHHH.
  15. Where is everyone....why only 213 voted. Can we bring this topic to the top over the next 6 weeks to get some feel for current support. This poll and the "Have you renewed poll?" are market research for BRISA.
  16. To add to other comments made look again at JW's statement where he mentions a possible look-out for other benefactors. If this had been the policy 10 years ago Dave Whelan might have been at least co-opted to the Board.Instead Wigan are now rivals for part of our natural territory.
  17. In favour of this move and keen to influence its agenda by attending and contributing. The mission statement seemed a bit wishy-washy and really we should try to model the ISA on best practice of other Clubs, maybe other sports. - to work to get 30,000 regularly to Ewood - to encourage more use of Ewood and its surrounds - to engage more of the people of Lancashire - to increase support around the World - to safeguard the long-term future of OUR football club If people feel alienated from BRFCS.com then beware of them in the ISA. Someone told me recently that people in Lancashire fall out with each other too easily and that would be just another impediment to progress. And having harassed for the NEXT GAME AT EWOOD SIGN i thought i could die in peace!
  18. About 1956 but can only line up Ronnie Clayton playing with his brother Ken. It was like the 1990s but in the second division...big crowds and loads of people walking from town or from the early Shadsworth in my case. Then from 1966 is was the thin years when we lost all but a few of the next generation to the Big Clubs(so anyone ticking 67 to 74 are diehards) and then I agree with every one of Trawden Blues highlights. Can't stress enough the Field goal against Watford in front of 9500 and the 87 Full Members was a dream come true. Little did we dream of what Uncle Jack would bring. So 50 years this year! Doesn't it pass quick...here's to the next 30!
  19. Of the 19 of us there on Saturday, 16 are going on Wednesday. The 17th is 9 years old, the 18th lives south of brum and the 19th was got a ticket cos her company is a sponsor. We're taking the flags and really supporting all the lads. FOREVER AND EVER.
  20. The Guardian was especially evil.Who do we write to and has anyone sent a barbed response yet?
  21. Its been a very long and exciting week and we must not forget that we might be getting slagged off but everyone is talking about us. Last time we lost 3-0 in the FA Cup was 1960 and we lost 15,000 supporters. This time we'll stick together and be even stronger next season. Enjoyed every minute. The flag was brilliant and we do need it again on Wednesday night. FOREVER AND EVER..
  22. How much is DAVID BRENT(and Jal) right. All my life i have avoided what my parents(from Blackburn and Nelson) used to say: "If only we'd gone we might have enjoyed ourselves." I think its called curmudgeonly...which means short-sighted and miserable. The hand-loom weavers have a lot to answer for. But on 2005,Friday 15th the town centre pubs will still be full with punters pouring their hard-earned money down their throats rather than seeing the famous Rovers in the FA Cup Semi-Final for the first time in living memory.
  23. BREAKING POINT! Chance of 3rd major trophy in 10 years. I am one of the few Board members who went in 1960 and would not miss this for the world. Presume all the people with the lame and lazy excuses wil be spending £50 on Friday night on booze.Hope you can make it this saturday(3pm) or is there a grumpy argument for not attending this match. I was not happy with the old 3rd Division.PERIOD.
  24. Just seen MOD and sobered up after post-match celebrations. Anyone in the Rovers end will know this now.... JUST LIKE THE TEAM THAT'S GONNA WIN THE F.A.CUP ......WE SHALL NOT BE MOVED!
