  1. I think he was quite candid in his comments that about making mistakes last season and trying to learn from them for next season. I think his biggest mistake so far (apart from Grabbi) has been Yorke, who doesn't appear to have any hunger for the game. I'm so glad he's been sidelined, and hopefully we can shove this parasite off somewhere. His comments about some foreign players "coming over for a jolly", and his signings of Dickov as a role model for Gallagher and Stead give me cause for guarded optimism. However, all things come to an end at some point, and unless GS wants his Rovers career to end sometime next season, we must have improved performances. I'm certainly not banking on this season being great, I just hope it all comes together, because I don't want to go through another season like last year again. That was awful. All these critical remarks about JW and BC seem like guesswork to me, unless people have had direct dealings with them, because they are very much background figures.
  2. How much is John Williams paid then Waggy? And what else should he be doing to justify his "massive" salary? Why does he not come across as a "football man", should he do some ball-juggling at Brockhall? His job doesn't really allow him the scope to demonstrate his football knowledge, chief execs are involved with teh business aspects, not the football aspects. Bob Coar comes from Burnley, but how do you know that he is a Burnley fan? You're hinting that this interferes with his job, can you prove it? You present everything as if it's black and white. "Souness lovers" on one side "Souness haters" on the other. It's not as simple as that, if it were Championship Manager would be a training ground for the managers of tomorrow.
  3. just spent 20 quid on amazon for what it's worth!
  4. Hmmm ... not the first time a host has had us over a barrel! Might it not happen again if we move to another host? ie get bumped up beyond 120/month? Could it be cheaper to buy our own server on HP and have that paid off on DD? I suppose if the account goes bust you could always sell the server off to recoup cash. Will probably get shot down for that one, but it's just an idea.
  5. Mr C: Agreed, Mr Jim is peerless, however thenodrog isn't bad himself. Can you really take his comments on here seriously? Shurely he's taking the pish? Cheers. Mr B.
  6. Thenodrog's just on a wind-up, he's always doing it.
  7. Julie Ward is the person you're thinking of Paul.
  8. I haven't trivialised it at all. You don't appear to have understood my post, but never mind.
  9. Perhaps they'll let it go once they receive justice? I wouldn't like to be the one who tells them face-to-face: "Come on chaps, it's been fifteen years. I know you've been messed about by the courts, and perhaps no-one's actually said 'sorry', but don't you think it's getting a bit boring now?" As for these daft "there were greater miscarriages during the war" arguments, the mind boggles. Is that the new yardstick for deciding whether to prosecute now? "Drink driver killed a whole family, no carpet bombing involved, OK sarge, I'll let him go". Banonkers!
  10. Ha ha ha...read it all now. What year is blackburn the capital of culture, and what else are you famous for? Just bitter lad...oooohhh, taste that lemon. Spot the Murdoch Employee. I wouldn't even wipe my bum with the Sun. If things had moved on and Murdoch still didn't have his fingers in numerous media pies internationally then perhaps it would be time for closure. But that ain't the case. Would never have Sky in the house, don't buy the Sun or the Times, and hats off to Dennis Potter for calling his tumour "Rupert"!
  11. Matteo! Matteo! Dominic Matteo! Oh he's shagged his knees and came on a free! Dominic Matteo!
  12. First he fiddled with his gas, the next thing you know it's gussets. He's all curls and perversion int' he?
  13. I think as a result of the latest crisis meeting Bahb they've put the tea ladies on the game. Times are hard at Elland Road (quite liderally). Maybe a cheeky bid of Bukta tracksuits for Killgallon and a bag of skag for a couple of tea ladies?
  14. Bloody hell, I agree with Revidge about something! I need a sit-down. Please Yorke, have some pride and hop it. (Forlorn hope.)
  15. Any two from Amoruso, Matteo and Shorto would do me fine.
  16. So that's Dickov for £150,000, de Pedro for nothing and Matteo for nothing (but maybe some transfer budget will be used to pay his wages). That's pretty good horse trading. Now will someone PLEASE take Yorke off our hands. He's about as useful as an aertex johnny.
  17. I can't see them having any problem getting rid of Matteo permanently. Someone will take a chance on him ...
  18. Ha ha! Yeah, that'd go down a storm with Leeds. "We know you're skint, but do you mind if we have him on loan for a season? Whaddya mean 'get knotted'?"
  19. I can't remember the last time I rose to the bait on here Tom! The point about multi-quoting and inline pictures is valid though as it affects available memory on the server. More pointless photos, more pointless quoting = more memory used = more money to run the site. * The sheer amount of cobblers talked on here has increased as well. It's a bit of a pain in the ringer to have to scroll through countless posts of dribble (not talking about funny posts here, talking about dribble!) Some will doubtless find it fun, but not me! * Ooops, been ages since I sent any dough
  20. I don't think that's the point though Tom. To continue the pub analogy, there's some serious debate, some good laughs, then there are some people either trying to get the rise out of others (spoling for a fight?), or have had too many and are either just talking rubbish or are repeating things that were said 5 minutes before.
  21. First of all, not sure where Kamy comes in Den? Unless Paul deleted his post! First of all, I've turned my images off via Ikonboard settings because it's such a pain in the harris reading posts that are broken up by pointless bleeding images (looking at you, AESF!) I know what Tony Blair/ David Beckham/ David Blunkett look like FFS! I've just given up reading some people's posts because they're so long-winded or because I know what they're going to say. Perhaps other people have too, hence the problem. If there is a limit to the number of characters that can be displayed in one post, I think it could do with lowering! Another bugbear, as stated above is multi-quoting, quite possibly the laziest sin ever. I can't see the point in it. If your replying to the imeediately previous post, hello!, you don't need to quote it! How thick/ boneidle are some people? Is there no way to parse someone's thread so that if tehy have more than two opening quote tags, they get stripped out (along with accompanying text) to just give one quote within a quote? Also, if someone just has one quote to compare the text contained within to the immediately previous quote and if it's the same/ similar, DELETE it. It's either that or full-frontal labotomies all round. Looking at some multi-quotes is like looking down the Time Tunnel. As for declining standards, I think people will always look for ways to abuse the board. I don't think standards have gone down, it's just that people have found new ways to be stupid. It's certainly better than the Ranulf Westwood days, although we still have our share of wind-up merchants. Not enough to keep Adopted Scouser happy though, he likes a good barney, just so long as he's a spectator!
  22. Why would it be stabbing Liverpool fans in the back? That team has underperformed for a good few years, last year they finished 30 points behind the champion. Why shouldn't he consider moving on? He can't win much silverwear once he's retired. As it is, it may well have been some of those nice death threats to his family that persuaded him to stay (although that could be tabloid BS). Granted though, it should have been far from his mind during the tournament.
  23. You mean do what Tottenham do? Almost sign a top player to excite the fans?
  24. That was after the Leeds game. Seeing as you seem to be so conversant with my posts you'll probably be aware that not long after that I held my hands up and said "what do I know about football?!" I'm certainly not denying I made those comments, but I'm sure that I wasn't the only one who was frustrated by the result against Leeds and lashed out accordingly. I haven't completely changed my mind and say "Souness must definitely stay", I'm prepared to wait and see how the new season goes. Mind you, I don't know whether I bother arguing sensibly with you, you're clearly on a wind-up!
  25. Nooooo, stop coming out with that daft talk, I don't believe it! He's obviously rated by the board, so unless last season was an ominous sign of things to come (and I'm you believe it was), then Souness will remain in the job. And you'll continue to whinge and whine. To no effect. And maybe throw in a few insults about "glory-hunting supporters who don't even live in Blackburn going back to support Man Utd and Liverpoo".
