  1. Whoever sorted out the players names along the bottom must have been on drugs.
  2. Living over here if it’s a toss up between beating Burnley or United I’d always go for beating the Red Rats.
  3. I remember him playing left back for Villa on an icy Ewood pitch, it was really difficult to turn around and Fergie gave him a chasing.
  4. I never saw Dougie do a “ step over “ , he didn’t need to.
  5. After watching last nights game my expectations regarding the play offs aren’t too optimistic. I liked Hudds corner routine were all their players gathered in a bunch well beyond the far post and then ran in to meet the ball. Forest were caught zonal marking and the Hudds lad had a simple header. Obviously their coach has given it some thought.
  6. I wouldn’t mind if we came across as a really well drilled super organised team that is sweeping all before it like a football machine. To be honest there are times when we look like a gang of lads who’ve just met up for a Sunday afternoon kick about after a Saturday night on the piss.
  7. You pick your games ! Probably in my top 20 games. Gordon did a great job for us. I was gutted when he left for Newcastle.
  8. Did you watch last nights game between Forest and Hudds ? Both teams are light years ahead of the way we’re playing. They’re not all stars by any means but they both have a real shape and a way of playing. High energy football, they were making things happen. We just stand around waiting for the ball to come. I could see how Hudds beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. That’s down to coaching for me.
  9. He wasn’t exactly on his own in that respect Jim. Most of the team fitted that description.
  10. I was born in Blackburn but we left to live 10 or so miles away when I was 4. Because of that I alway considered myself a Lancastrian. Where I live now is part of Greater Manchester and has been for quite a while. I’m starting to feel I’m a Mancunian now. Does place of birth trump everything in this respect ?
  11. Quality on it’s own won’t be enough. It’s what’s beating under the badge that matters when games like that come around. They don’t seem to have much of that.
  12. I watched Notts Forest v Huddersfield tonight. I was really impressed with both teams. Moving the ball at pace, energetic, full of running and playing aggressively. Obviously both teams are well coached and highly motivated. Just what we aren’t at the moment.
  13. The fact that it’s always game over when we go behind tells me how hard most of the players are. That’s what happens with a soft set up.
  14. I do’nt think so. We’re’nt they not relegated at some point pre war ?
  15. Too easy. Or Hedges crossing, that’s probably too easy as well.
  16. They’ve always been a top division side since I started watching in 1960-61.
  17. I see Rhodes came on and didn’t do anything. He’s slower now than he was before. I wouldn’t fancy playing either of those two in the play offs, Forest especially.
  18. I’m not talking about strikers. I’m talking about guys like Giles who are hugging the touch line yet insist on coming back inside every time. Spence is trying to get around the back of the defence all the time. It’d help if we had full backs with the pace Spence has though. How many goals has Brererton scored like that this season ?
  19. They’re playing another game to us, it’s not fair. Are you allowed to run around like that ?
  20. I think you know what I mean. Fulham beat us in a stroll on Saturday. They wouldn’t beat either of these teams in a stroll.
  21. I’d say it doesn’t matter, they’re both a goal better than us at the moment. They’d both give Fulham a game.
  22. Forest have that Spence going outside on the right and banging the ball in every time. None of this left footer cutting back inside nonsense.
