  1. How things change. I remember when the dingles got to the cup final in 1962 all 5 forwards ( yes 5 ) had scored over 15 goals each ! That was when teams usually had more or less the same 11 playing for all the 90 minutes of every game. Defenders didn’t normally get more than a goal or two between them then. No wonder they got fed up with Dycheball.
  2. I had a row with somebody on here about his lack of heading ability when we signed him the second time. For a big guy he’s pretty poor at making contested headers. Unopposed, he’s not too bad. Same goes for Brererton.
  3. The Chokers will be thrilled to hear that !
  4. Just make sure it goes in the right bank account matey.
  5. If Dolan left and he was replaced with Harry Kane permanently I wouldn’t complain at all and it’s just as likely to happen. Just my opinion of course.
  6. Of course it’s too early to say who’s going to do well or otherwise. We’ll know more after half a dozen games.
  7. Forest were one of the clubs reputedly interested in Dolan. Now if you think the manager there doesn’t know a good player from a bad ‘un I beg to differ.
  8. If you’re looking at it like that Bryan Douglas “ couldn’t run “ either. There’s the players who are quick over ten yards like Dougie, and that’s all he needed. The ball would be gone or he’d just beat the next man. Then there are those who are fast over forty to fifty yards like Donis. There aren’t many who could do both , Craig Bellamy is probably one of a few that springs to mind.
  9. He’s another one who thought he had made at 20. Fancy sports cars etc. For every one who eventually gets it and pulls their career around there’s half a dozen who blow their careers. He had a chance to reset with the move to Bournemouth, what did he do there ? I wouldn’t go near him to be honest, especially if it means throwing our “ war chest “ at him.
  10. If Dolan is that poor why are teams higher up the food chain the Rovers interested in him ?
  11. How is it he couldn’t do that ? He’s been involved in pro football for long enough.
  12. Yes, I wouldn’t want to put all our financial eggs in one basket. Especially one like Cantwell.
  13. We’ve more chance of signing Noel Cantwell and he’s dead.
  14. It’s from a free kick. I presume that’s the wall.
  15. I was going to write a list of championship/lower prem clubs that have been quoted as being interested in him. Then it occurred to me that it would be quicker to write a list of clubs that aren’t interested.
  16. Yes I agree. We don’t want any show ponies. He’s done nothing at Bournemouth.
  17. Yeah, I’ve no axe to grind with him. Whatever other failings he had, giving 100% wasn’t one of them.
  18. Just asking but where do you think his best position was ? I think he proved it wasn’t right wing.
  19. Chaddy won’t be wanting him. Ex Dingle and all that !
  20. Well after 61 years Rovers are stuck with me. If you want success and entertainment guaranteed for your £30 they are the clubs to follow, at the moment of course. When I first started Spurs were in that all conquering class. Liverpool were in Div 2 and City were on the way there. I’ve seen success at Rovers and I’ve been entertained. But not necessarily at the same time. The best Rovers team I’ve ever seen play never won anything.
  21. There must have been lots of teams who’ve had a look at him over the last few years. Yet nobody has made a move.
  22. The arse has fallen out of the season ticket sales because the club has been run on automatic pilot for the last dozen years. The Indian ownership’s neglectful attitude has alienated lots of the hard core fans. People no longer identify with the club. If the Blackburn Rovers was a child we’d have been taken into care years ago.
  23. If he’s not backed he probably won’t be. The players we have at the moment won’t be enough.
