It’s obvious. At the moment he’s good for a 20 minute spell. That tells you all you need to know about his current level of match fitness. -
Mowbray, the summer and beyond

I’m not that impressed with Khadra. I wouldn’t be busting a gut to get him back. Not enough end product for me. The Dutch centre half I’d definitely have back, he’s worthy of the shirt. -

I don’t know what the score will be but I’ll guarantee they’ll work harder, run further, win more 50/50 balls, win more contested headers than we do. In other words they’ll “ out enthuse “ us. And their players are as good as relegated. I’m sick of saying it, it’s been like a broken record for the last 10 years. if we want to win we’ve got to do more than they do. -

“ if fit “ says it all. There’s fit and then there’s match fit. Dack isn’t match fit and he won’t be for a while yet. Anybody not match fit shouldn’t be taking a pen. -
Premier League season 21/22

If India invaded Pakistan suddenly and the Venkies were sanctioned as Indian oligarch’s would you want Rovers to be “ kicked out of the league “ ? -

Yeah, for a centre half built like a heavyweight boxer it was laughable. I read somewhere he’d a good record taking pens for Huddersfield Town previously. -
Attendances: A cause for concern

What after the run we’ve been on ? People go to be entertained, it’s not like Catholics going to church. -

It reminded me of the famous John Coddington penalty miss back in the 1960’s. Only he ran from back near the half way line to side foot the ball. I think he’d run out of breath when he got to the ball. What made it worse the ref told him to take it again for some infringement only he saw, maybe he couldn’t see properly for laughing. So Coddington does exactly the same thing with exactly the same result. A gentle side foot into the keepers arms. If I hadn’t have seen it with my own eyes …… -

It’s not just about technique, it’s about mentality as well. Any of those players would be well capable of taking a good pen in training. It’s when the pressure is on it’s not so easy. If you went in goals I’d have been confident of scoring maybe 7 or 8 out of 10. If all of a sudden I had to pay you £1000 if I missed the next pen it’s a different story altogether. I’m a lot less confident all of a sudden. Nothing has changed - you, the ball, the size of the goals, the weather ? They’re all the same. What has changed is what’s going on in my head. -
Tony Mowbray Discussion

What exactly does practicing finishing mean ? Shooting in at an empty goal or a goal with a keeper in ? It’s not a real match experience. They need to be practicing in short scale games. -

That’s a great read, sorry about the result. I agree with you about Rothwell. I said ages ago “ he doesn’t do enough often enough “ and got slated for it on here. He’s another one who “ dribbles when he comes to a pair of feet “, too much head down. -

I can forgive the taker if he smashes it and it hit’s the woodwork or the keeper but yesterdays kick was really poor. What was worse was expecting Dack to take it in the first place. -

We can’t really complain, that was up there with one of the worst penalties I’ve ever seen at any level of football. It was like a back pass. -

Are Rovers a 'soft' team?

Another last minute goal conceded. Why is it always Rovers conceding and never scoring ? When did we last score a meaningful goal in added time ? -

I doesn’t really hurt any more for me. I never bought into the going up automatically for a minute and I had real doubts about the play offs once the wheels started to fall off in January. After the window it was pretty obvious that the only people who really wanted promotion were the fans. As I said earlier have a clear out of the managerial staff asap and get the new man in with a few games to go so he can decide who he wants to stay and go. -

The guy hasn’t played for a year. He’s only been on the pitch for minutes. Have we really nobody else who’s got the balls to take a free shot from 12 yards ? What are we paying them for ? -

Well I’ve said it before but this club isn’t big enough for me and him. One of us has to go.
