  1. That’s the issue. If the Armstrong sale is anything to go by it’ll mean nothing for the new manager to spend
  2. I always liked Barton as a player. He’s a winner that drives the rest of the team on. Something of a Robbie Savage but Barton could actually play. Would I want him as a son-in-law ? Not really, but it would be interesting. Same thing applies to him as a manager.
  3. He can’t possibly be any worse than the previous lot.
  4. Having Dunny as your “ right hand man .” Is the “ added degree of difficulty “ factor in any appointment.
  5. Indeed. One of the few conceivable appointments that would be a backward step. So it’s Grayson then.
  6. Sorry mate but my post should have said “ Leeds wouldn’t beat Rovers “ ! You can still like it as it was though ! As you say - you can’t keep having players sent off. You don’t win many games playing with ten for most of the game. I read somewhere that the dingles have only had 2 players sent off in the last 5 years in spite of being a team well known for “putting it about a bit”. Leeds have had two red cards in the last two games !
  7. Leeds have got to get a win from somewhere but the way they’re playing the wouldn’t beat Rovers at the moment !
  8. Looks like it, they’ve imploded recently. It doesn’t make things easy for us next season. All three teams have recent experience of promotions.
  9. Whoever wrote the article I referred to must have meant he’d never coached in red ball cricket before then ?
  10. I read somewhere that McCullom, good player as he was, has never coached before. Can that be right ?
  11. He’d put £1000 behind the bar in “ The Flying Horse “ in the centre of Rochdale. I missed out ! I’m surprised it wasn’t “ The Baum “ in Rochdale, , he used to drink in there a year or two ago. Along with Lisa Stansfield. He also put £1000 behind the bar of one of my favourite Manchester pubs, “ The Briton’s Protection “.
  12. I’ve heard another name mentioned in respect of the Hartlepool job. I can’t say who. Let’s just see If I’m right.
  13. Me too. I thought they were invaluable. Better than Alf Thornton.
  14. Davenport never really got a chance. It’ll be interesting to see what happens next in his career.
  15. Anybody in a two, against four or five, will be very very bad.
  16. I think Johnno’s ship has sailed since he got his drone pilots licence.
  17. Not forgetting Darren Peacock, Anders Andersen, Tore Pedersen, Callum Davidson, Alan Fettis,Kevin Davies, Dario Marcolin.
  18. Exactly, anyone with half a brain and in business would run a mile from the bad publicity the Chicken Chokers bring.
  19. Mm, would Mowbray’s name have been in either of those polls last time ?
  20. He’s not in the Ayala league regarding injuries but he is prone to muscle strain. That’s another problem with playing Dack at the moment, you know he hasn’t got 90 minutes either.
  21. He needs another bang on the knee that he can walk away from. That’ll help him get his confidence back. Speaking from personal experience I needed a kick on the leg that I could walk away from. I got a kick on the leg that I couldn’t walk away from.
  22. No. Is he any better than what we’ve already got ? That’s got to be the criterion for our signings.
  23. Thanks for that Tony. It’s been a long season. See you next time hopefully.
