I was watching Hudds the other night, they worked a great move off their first corner and scored from it. -

Because the voices in Mowbray’s head keep telling him that’s how Mo Salah plays. -

Do you remember Maurice Fussey ? Tall, lanky guy. His party trick was to sprint backwards from the edge of the penalty area to the half way line after giving a goal kick so he was always facing the ball. I remember him bringing the players off 15 minutes early at Bolton. Everybody was stood about looking at their watches or that big clock over the main stand before starting to leave the ground. Then after about 7 or 8 minutes the players came back out drying their hair and their kit back on to play out the rest of the game. -

I think players played carrying knocks in the old days. They don’t do that as much today. -

You’d have to live over here to know what it’s like with United fans. Even when they’re having a bad run their arrogance knows no bounds. Thankfully City becoming top dog has put them back in their box to a certain extent. Being honest, for most of the last fifty years Utd have been higher up the food chain than Burnley or Rovers so it’s extra good to beat a top side. As they were under Fergie. That was my rationale. No doubt if I lived in Great Harwood I’d feel differently. Incidentally I was there on that Boxing Day when Burnley beat the red rats 6-1. Fortunately I missed the return fixture at Old Trafford as I was at Ewood watching Rovers lose 3-1 to West Ham. -

Whoever sorted out the players names along the bottom must have been on drugs. -

Living over here if it’s a toss up between beating Burnley or United I’d always go for beating the Red Rats. -

I remember him playing left back for Villa on an icy Ewood pitch, it was really difficult to turn around and Fergie gave him a chasing. -
I never saw Dougie do a “ step over “ , he didn’t need to.

I didn’t know they were playing. -
After watching last nights game my expectations regarding the play offs aren’t too optimistic. I liked Hudds corner routine were all their players gathered in a bunch well beyond the far post and then ran in to meet the ball. Forest were caught zonal marking and the Hudds lad had a simple header. Obviously their coach has given it some thought.

I wouldn’t mind if we came across as a really well drilled super organised team that is sweeping all before it like a football machine. To be honest there are times when we look like a gang of lads who’ve just met up for a Sunday afternoon kick about after a Saturday night on the piss. -

You pick your games ! Probably in my top 20 games. Gordon did a great job for us. I was gutted when he left for Newcastle. -
Did you watch last nights game between Forest and Hudds ? Both teams are light years ahead of the way we’re playing. They’re not all stars by any means but they both have a real shape and a way of playing. High energy football, they were making things happen. We just stand around waiting for the ball to come. I could see how Hudds beat Fulham 2-0 at Craven Cottage. That’s down to coaching for me.

He wasn’t exactly on his own in that respect Jim. Most of the team fitted that description.

I was born in Blackburn but we left to live 10 or so miles away when I was 4. Because of that I alway considered myself a Lancastrian. Where I live now is part of Greater Manchester and has been for quite a while. I’m starting to feel I’m a Mancunian now. Does place of birth trump everything in this respect ? -

Quality on it’s own won’t be enough. It’s what’s beating under the badge that matters when games like that come around. They don’t seem to have much of that. -
PLAYER WATCH v Fulham (A)

I watched Notts Forest v Huddersfield tonight. I was really impressed with both teams. Moving the ball at pace, energetic, full of running and playing aggressively. Obviously both teams are well coached and highly motivated. Just what we aren’t at the moment.
