When I first started watching we’d 4 out of the 5 starting forwards that were born in Blackburn. Ratcliffe, Pickering, Byrom and Dougie. Now the way we are going we’ll be struggling to have 4 English players in the team !

I lot depends on the player and the circumstances of their leaving. Most people on here were wishing Sammi well because of how he played and they could see he deserved a shot at the big time.

I think anybody who isn’t going to be 100% committed out on the pitch needs to go. However I think Travis is the sort of player that once he steps over the white line all other issues go out of his head and he just wants to win. It’s a personal thing that’s born in you. Not everybody has it, but I think he has.

We could be stronger if we sign a right winger who can make things happen. My reservations are - I haven’t seen many good 6’2” fullbacks and not many centre halves make good full backs. Of course I’ll reserve judgement until I’ve seen him play in the flesh.
