  1. Looking at the way the virus affects BAME people disproportionately I would imagine the BAME players in the Prem won't be too keen to give it a go. Given the numbers in the Prem they will be very influential in any decisions regarding a restart.
  2. Our back four will be OK with the social distancing.
  3. Looks like Damien Duff was there in the middle.
  4. I remember watching him play for Australia v England before he signed for Rovers. He played in the old inside right position and he was the best player on the pitch. We never played him there when he came to Ewood.
  5. It's only like any other walk of life - if your attitude's all wrong you'll never get anywhere.
  6. I don't think it was accidental.
  7. I heard him on the radio. He's become an embarrassment to football and to himself. He should have packed it in years ago.
  8. I agree, some got short changed at birth, some get short changed through their life experiences. I try not to be judgmental but I'm not always successful.
  9. Rick Wakeman gave him a glowing tribute on the radio today.
  10. It doesn't look like Fleetwood are planning on re-starting the season any day now. Their pitch was just on the TV news. It's been stripped completely in preparation for re-turfing.
  11. Just one minor point - Ken Furphy joined the Rovers in July 1971. Very enjoyable quiz.
  12. What you need to bear in mind is not everybody posting on here got dealt the same hand when it came to grey matter. Some got short changed. Once you look at things in that light you become more understanding.
  13. It's just making it more apparent that it's all about the dosh.
  14. It wasn't as easy then though Mike. The amount of coaching roles in pro football must have gone up ten fold in the last Forty years.
  15. A Norman Bell goal, somewhat of a rarity.
  16. Or both. He had what you can't teach, that spacial awareness that allows you to always turn away into space and not into opponents.
  17. I was shocked when I saw she was 83. My paper has this thing everyday were it picks about 20 people who were born on the day in question and then gives their ages. That can be really surprising also.
  18. Warhurst could have played anywhere on the pitch and been a star. He would have been an all time great but for the injury.
  19. Err, he was a centre forward and he didn't miss that sitter in the 83 Cup Final, Gordon Smith did after Robinson played him in on goal. Typical jammy Man Utd, there was only minutes left to play when Smith missed that chance. It would have game over. After that there was only one team that was going to win the replay.
  20. Mrs Shoelaces thought " Twins " was really good. I haven't seen it yet.
  21. It was a goal all night long to me. A great bit of skill also.
  22. I agree regarding Nzonzi and Kalinic.
  23. It was always knock out for us with about 5 or 6 players.
  24. There's a section in " The Guardian " TV guide called " Jump the Shark - When good shows go bad ". " Killing Eve " has just made it. Anybody know what country it's supposed to be set in ? They don't appear to have a police force at all. You can just go around killing people at random and nothing happens.
  25. Yeah Sutton was top class. I remember seeing him chest control a long, wind assisted goal kick from Tim Flowers and drop it instantly straight down onto his foot. A really difficult skill and he performed it to perfection.
