  1. I agree with you Stuart but we have a massively bloated first team squad. What must that be costing in wages ? Lets say 30 players are on a average of £10k a week ( maybe that could be on the low side. ) - £300k a week - £1.2 million per month - £14.5 million a year. Plus that is just first team standard players although in my book they're very much all of a muchness with not many outstanding players. We need to slim down that squad dramatically. There's a good half dozen that we could release now and never miss.
  2. Is Mowbray in the betting ?
  3. You can bet they wouldn' be swanning on their holidays this week if he was running the show. I think he's done now, the death of the young lad he'd just signed last season knocked the stuffing out of him.
  4. Are you sure ? There are a few on here who reckon there's nothing wrong with his heading ability.
  5. Yeah, I really look forward to international weekends. Football can't spoil my weekend then.
  6. I've been watching us too long to predict anything with Rovers. I was there for the return fixture two days after we beat West Ham 8-2 away. I learnt my lesson regarding predictions that day. Apart from the 11 playing for West Ham nobody in the country would have predicted a 3-1 win for them. I'd be delighted if your predictions come true.
  7. Ok, Let's see how those predictions go.
  8. I didn't ask who we've beaten earlier in the season. The question was " Who Do You Think We'll Beat In The Future ? ". Say between now and the New Year ?
  9. Which teams would you back us to beat at the moment Joe ?
  10. Nobody in the media is asking him questions like that are they ? He get's a free ride every week. Today's reporters are spineless. I remember the Rugby League correspondent of my local paper being banned from the ground after he'd criticised the coach once too often. He ended up paying to go in and standing with the fans in a disguise !
  11. The more I hear the more it becomes obvious he's lost the plot. What must the players be thinking ?
  12. Mm, step slowly away from your keyboard and ring your GP's surgery now. Don't worry, they'll be able to help you.
  13. It's like being kept on a life support in hospital. You're in a vegatitive state. One day they'll turn it off. A good mate of mine likened our situation to being a passenger on that plane were the pilot locked himself into the cockpit and flew along for a while until he decided to crash the plane.
  14. I've only seen the highlights but I think most of them have given up playing for him to honest. If I can see it surely Mowbray can.
  15. Well I hope they're really pleased with their two latest big money " investments ",
  16. Just to carry on my point earlier, How would this game pan out ? Blues. Leutwiler Rankin Costello, Lenihan, Wharton, Willams. Johnson, Travis. Buckley, Dack, Downing. Gallager Versus Reds Walton Bennett, Nyambe, Tosin, Bell. Smallwood, Evans. Holtby, Davenport, Rothwell Graham. Which team is better ? As I see it you can mix and match all that lot and still not have a great team. I couldn't find a place for - Chapman, Butterworth, Brereton, Hart, Mulgrew. That I suggest is a ridiculous amount of players for us to have and still be mediocre.
  17. You're right, I'm obviously blanking out a lot of bad memories !
  18. When Coyle was obviously relegating the team I decided to stay away from to much Rovers related stuff before my head exploded. When Coyle was sacked and Lambert and Co appointed I was back like a shot. Only for that to go tits up rapidly !
  19. I know it's a bit early but this is a " Must Win " game already.
  20. Ok. To be honest I was staying off the board at the time because the whole Coyle situation was seriously doing my head in !
  21. Maybe one of the mods has found a horses head in his bed ?
  22. Yes Rob Kelly was the guy I was thinking off. Three very experienced men. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Lambert and co appointment come out of the blue ?
  23. A mate of mine used to be on Utd's books and later on he was a scout for Man City.. He would only scout players in away games. He said " Anybody can play at home, you find more out about their character in away games ".
  24. It is possible we may pick the same 7 or 8 players but in an ideal world we should be picking the same 11. When we won the Prem and won promotion back to the Prem the team was the same 11 every week barring injuries. Other teams also knew how we were going to play but we stuck to our basic game plan and most weeks it paid off. You and I could name both those teams now. I follow teams quite closely, even the Dingles, but it's coming to something when I can tell you what 11 they'll play next game but I haven't a clue what our team will be. Regarding prospective managerial appointments I despair. Whoever you or I come up with I can almost guarantee that they won't be appointed. How many of Kean, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Lampard, Coyle, Mowbray were on your radar ? None of them were on mine. I was delighted when Lampard, Irvine and the other guy who's name I forget were appointed. I thought for once they'd made a sensible decision, what a good experienced team they appeared to be. However for whatever reason they managed to balls that up. I do wonder what that managerial team would have done with the £12 million plus that Mowbray has squandered ?
  25. Billy Barr reckons we could be " On the crest of a crisis ". Billy, we are in a crisis.
