Summer Transfer Window 2019

Where does our actual, real, new midfielder ( Downing ) fit into that line up ? Play Dack out wide and you're playing to his weaknesses not his strengths. -

Shush Phil, Tony might hear you ! -
The thing is you can bet your boots that Allardyce wouldn't have signed him.

I'll tell you what - I'm just glad it wasn't my 7 million pounds or Mowbray would be sleeping with the fishes by now. What do we do with Brererton ? Put him in the bank vault like a Rolex watch and hope his value accumulates ? -
Really, you surprise me - is that an under 15's team ? I played for my town at that age and I wouldn't have fancied our chances against the USA team.

I think coaching generally at Rovers once you're out of Johnno's hands is a cause for concern. We don't play like a well coached team even at this level. As we were discussing early the movement off the ball is pedestrian most of the time. It's more like " Pass and stand still " than " Pass and move ". -
I'll tell you what Jim, I wouldn't have fancied my chances playing right wing against the USA left back. She's really rapid and really good in the tackle. You think you've got past and shes sliding in there again. Good player. The three posers we have playing there could do worse that watch how she plays.

I know that, name me a keeper playing today that is. -

The way I look at is - Can we do better ? Yes, I think we can even under the Chicken Chokers. Will we do better ? That's a hard one to call, maybe 50-50 at the present time. -

Opponents don't take liberties around guys like him and Andy Todd. We're a soft touch to play against at the moment. -

He made a lot more mistakes after that bang on the head he got. Came back too soon in my opinion. Name me a modern goalkeeper who commands the box ? Even Big Brad watched a few goals headed in from inside his six yard box. -

I'd like to think we have a replacement lined up before we blow out our first choice keeper. -

Looks like Raya is carrying the can for the dismal defensive performances whilst the other jokers get a severe telling off. I think we may regret this one. -

That's why it was vital for future investment that Brererton showed much more promise than he has done. -
I thought the US rode their luck last night. going 5-4-1 with 30 minutes to play is a risky option at the best of times. You end up defending your own penalty area for long spells of the game. The thing about the US though, like all good sports teams, they never beat themselves. They never blow up, you have to play better than them to beat them. Regarding the semi final, England will have to raise their game some more but if we can do we've got a good chance.

I like the way the ball is moved forward more quickly. Like men's football used to be before we decided " Keep ball and death by a thousand passes " was the way forward

It's easy to pass the ball quickly when you have plenty of options all showing for the ball. We don't work hard enough off the ball, we don't run far enough when we have the ball, we don't make the pitch big enough when we have the ball and lots of times we're playing standing still football. -

Everybody was scared of MacNamee, opponents and Rovers players alike. No way would Rodriguez have booted Raya in the head if Mac had have been playing. He'd have been eating his tea through a straw if he did ! -

I always said having Keane in your team when he was in his prime was like playing with 12 when everybody else had 11. He was as good a central midfield player as I have seen. -

It's a bit worrying when the previous manager also fell foul of " Player Power ". I wonder how this crop of players would have gone on under Brian Clough ? -
I hope so, it was making me feel really inadequate.

If he can really do that he's missing his way playing football, he should be in a circus. I thought I could cross a ball but that is amazing. It'd take me a while to land the ball in just one bin.

Appointing Coyle was the last straw for me. I cashed in my Rovers chips that day. I had nothing more to do with the club, this site etc until they fired him. For the first time in 60 years I'd had enough. I must admit I felt a lot better for it, between them they were doing my head in. -
What you want from your goalkeeper is predictability. You need to know what he's going to do in any given situation. I don't really care about the shots that fly into the top corner just as long as your keeper isn't dropping corners on the opposing centre forward's foot.
