He needs to discover a coherent way of getting the ball from our penalty area to our opponents and a coherent way of stopping our opponents doing the same to us. Football is a simple game.

If Tony goes...

What line of work are you in Paul ? I used to work in engineering. Not a massive place, about 100 employees. The Managing Director was a dick but he was there every day and knew everything about everybody in the place. He'd know what you had for your tea last night when you'd forgotten ! If he'd have been an absentee owner the place would have kept going no problem but the productivity would have took a hit. By how much would depend on how motivated the foremen were. A good foreman would have a better effect than a bad one. It'd still be a up hill struggle no matter who was supposed to be trying to run the show. The fitters would still be performing but the welders would be taking the piss. The self motivated guys would be doing their best but the skivers would be picking their horses in the toilets for an hour a day. After a while the grafters would say to themselves - " What's the point, when nobody else cares ? ". Then they get brought down to the lazy guys level. That's what you've got at Rovers, no hands on direction from the top. Managers have come and gone, players have come and gone. The malaise at the club has been there ever since they fired Big Sam, appointed The Snake, and decided to leave things in his hands. " A fish rots from the head ". -

1-0 down at half time, how many times have we seen that scoreline ? -

To be honest with you if Hughes and Moyes are waiting for another Premier League job I think they'll have a long wait. -
How hard were they being worked during the international break ? Maybe some of them are still suffering from jet lag ? I don't expect scintillating football, long winning runs, promotion, banging the opposition etc, I just want a set of lads I can be proud of. A set of lads who give their all every week. Lads who respect the shirt, the club and the fans. Lads who's shirts you can wring the sweat out of at the end of the game. Some of the current lot could wear the same shirt every week because it doesn't get dirty ! I've seen teams in the past that weren't full of star players and they got beat sometimes. Now and again you had the odd player who didn't appear to be busting a gut but I never thought to question the desire of the whole team to play for the club like I do now.

That's just shocking. It tells you all you need to know about what's beating under the badge. A caraway seed in most cases. -
I'm not against keeping the ball but the passing has got to be quick and snappy. Most importantly the movement off the ball has got to be top class. All the team have to buy into wanting the ball at all times and making it easy for the bloke in possession to have several options. Basically we've got to be prepared to run a lot more and I doubt ether we've got that degree of desire or athleticism.

This " possession " football is killing us Parson. We don't appear to be good enough to pass and run accurately so we pass and walk. We're taking the ball stood still most of the time when our opponents are on the move, even then we need a couple of touches before we pass the ball. It's so easy to play against.

January transfer window 2020

We need a couple of players who like a tackle and who like getting their head on the ball. If they can play a bit on the ball that's a bonus. -
I live in Rochdale m1st and what happened with Keith Hill is the same as what's happening with Mowbray at Rovers. Dull football, weird formations, some dodgy signings, players being played out of position all the time, Henderson, who's their Rhodes being played in midfield, talking bollocks to the local press etc. I don't think Hill is a bad manager but he'd got complacent at Rochdale and thought he was unsackable. Basically he'd been there too long. He will probably do ok at Bolton. They'll go down almost certainly but he'll get them back up next time. The difference is they had a board that could see the writing on the wall and binned him before it was too late. Appointing Barry Murphy was a brave move but it's paid off for them.

If we were a normal club he would have been fired last season during that terrible run. We haven't really improved since that time. The football on show is dull, turgid, uninspiring and ultimately unsuccessful. The entertainment value is pretty low. He's been backed by the owners to a decent extent but we've been completely hamstrung by his inability to sign a Graham replacement in terms of being a goal threat. I wouldn't have signed Brererton and I wouldn't have signed Gallagher, certainly not permanently for large fees. This isn't being wise after the event , one or two of us said so at the time but got shouted down. Having two big signings completely fail should be reason enough for him to go in any other walk of life. This latest style of possession orientated walking football is the final straw for me. It's not exciting, it's not good to watch, it's not leading to many goals and at the end of the day it's easy to play against.

Get a tenner on it. -
I used to think Pedersen was a MOTD player. He'd do a couple of brilliant things, after that he was anonymous.

But you wouldn't want to bet on him keeping us up this time. I wouldn't anyway. -
When I watched England play the other Friday night I said that Dack looked a better player than Mount.
