Summer Transfer Window 2019
Tyrone Shoelaces replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I'm not a fan Tom. He hasn't done much that I'm aware of since he left us. I might take him on loan again failing someone better but not as a permanent signing. -

I saw him recently at Rochdale. Tall guy, very commanding. Pulled off a terrific save when he had to back pedal like mad and then leap backwards to keep out a miscued defensive header that was dropping just under the bar. He hadn't had a lot to do up to that point but he was wide awake. I'd say he's an improvement on Raya and I like Raya. -

If you come bustling out and you collide with an attacking player you'll always get the free kick so why stay rooted to your line. These days you see keepers trying to make a save from behind the goal line. Crazy. -

I thought the Derby keeper at fault for the first also. Another modern goalkeeper rooted to the goal line as an opponent heads in from the edge of the six yard line. -

I went to Rochdale v Sunderland a few weeks back. McGeogh was the best player on the pitch by a fair way. Always available for the ball, kept it moving and covered a lot of ground. He was what I thought we were getting when we bought Danny Murphy. A sort of poor mans Tugay. I don't think he's played much since then. My Sunderland pal says he blows hot and cold though. -

That's always the problem. I think it usually depends on what side of the bed they got up on. -

Bugger, maybe we could get him on loan next season ? -

Yeah Bielek look quicker than Bauer and he sensed danger. Not bad on the ball either. I was surprised to hear how young he was, he didn't play like an U-21. Just goes to show what's out there in Europe. -

He looked like another Downing to me. -

From what I saw Bauer doesn't seem to be much of an improvement on Downing. Maybe we can dodge a bullet there now they've been promoted. The lad Bielsic ? playing on his right looked a better bet to me. -
According to my paper Rashid has a shoulder problem that might not clear up.

I remember reading some stats regarding Robbo when we were struggling in the Prem. His saves to shots ratio was the worst of any keeper in the division. It seemed to me that any shot from distance was a goal. -
Thanks for putting that up matey.

It reminds me of the time in Rugby League when Wigan were the only full time professional team. It became a question not of would Wigan win but how many points would Wigan win by. Even Wigan fans were getting fed up with it in the end.

Thanks for that but yes I did type it all out. The article was really excellent but it'd take me all morning to type it in it's entirety. Me and computers are only just on speaking terms.

I can't do links but Jonathan Wilson in todays " Guardian " has an excellent article on the subject of City's dominance. Just two quotes from a really good article - " But Saturday was miserable ,the traditional showpiece of the game was reduced to a grim parade, devoid of any drama, there to satisfy the propaganda wing of a faraway regime ". " The gulf between the elites and the rest has never been as defined as this. It is not just City, it is not just England. Bayern Munich wrapped up the Bundesliga on Saturday to mean that for the first time in history, the league title in each of Europe's five big leagues has been retained. There comes a time when you have to step back and say this is pointless. Teams like Watford should not be just patsies. They and their fans deserve better than to be mice tossed into the tank for the python to feed upon."

Wasn't it Alan Wright that had knee trouble caused by him driving a Ferrari ?

I used to work away from home a lot. Our limit was 2 hours drive, after that it was overnight stays until the job was finished. I also had back trouble and after a 2 hour drive it took me a while to straighten myself out.

I'm not sure 4 hours in a car every day is ideal for his hamstring, or Graham's back issues.

What I don't get is he dropped some of the under performers and then offers Conway a new contract. Alice in Wonderland stuff.
