  1. A pal of mine who does a bit of scouting reckons that a striker at Charlton called Taylor is worth a bid. I've forgotten his first name.
  2. Just compare those two kits. If you ever doubted that the people running the club have absolutely no idea those two photos sum it all up. And that's without this season's " 'City " shirt.
  3. Yeah It could be more like £7 million today.
  4. Just as an aside - Paul Caddis released at Bradford and Jordan Slew released at Boston ( Lincs ).
  5. I'm not decrying this lad at all but some times goalies at bottom teams look good because of the sheer amount of work they have to do. The top keepers can go 20 minutes hardly touching the ball but will pull out a fantastic save the first time the ball comes their way.
  6. Judge had a really badly broken leg when he was at Brentford. Just prior to the bigger clubs moving in on him. As I recall he was out for over a year. That's a bad injury which ever way you look at it. He never got back into contention at Brentford afterwards and they moved him on to Ipswich. I'd suggest if he isn't seen as being good enough at Brentford he isn't good enough for a Rovers team looking to get into the play offs. It's a shame really because I liked him when he was with us, reminded me a lot of Johnny Price out on that right wing.
  7. I can't blame any player for not playing if they're not insured. I only played as an amateur but I wouldn't turn out without insurance.
  8. I agree, he'll make a decent defensive player. He needs to improve his heading and crossing. Both can be worked on.
  9. Nyambe can burst forward ok but there's been very little end product so far. I speak as a fan of the lad.
  10. I'm sure I have memories of them being a decent side in the old First Division under Jimmy Sirrel.
  11. No Joe for me. There must be better keepers out there. I'd prefer to stay with Raya to be honest if that was the choices.
  12. Machiavelli had nothing on you JH.
  13. I wouldn't want to see that. I feel for their fans, " If you prick them do they not bleed ? " as Shakespeare said or words to that effect.
  14. We got Mike Ferguson for £2000 out of the wreckage of Stanley. And people think Dack was a bargain.
  15. One for the old timers - Eddie Thomas played for both clubs in the early to mid 1960's.
  16. Well it looks like Tony's marquee signing of Whittingham made such an impression on everybody that he's been consigned to the dust bin of history. Bererton or Antonnson ? That's a tough one. At least Antonnson looked like a goal scorer occasionally. If you rolled them both together you wouldn't have a Danny Graham.
  17. I agree to a certain extent but I'd need more than signing players. We'd need to be playing in a more coherent, consistent manner.
  18. He certainly gave a good impression of a Billy Bigbollocks at Norwich on Saturday. Could you see him playing for Norwich or Sheff Utd and poncing around like that ?
  19. When I played you put the ball out for your own player and only if your own player appeared to be seriously injured. Players didn't feign injury so the ball got put out in those circumstances maybe 5 or 6 times in a full season. You didn't get the ball back and you didn't expect to get it back.
  20. I saw a few serious injuries playing amateur football, two involving myself. Rolling around on the floor isn't on the agenda. You lie very, very still and hope the pain goes away. My rule of thumb - the more rolls = the less injured the player is.
  21. He could be whatever he wants to be When he's on song he's Rodney Marsh MK 2. A matchwinner. If he's not careful he'll waste his career. The lower divisions are full of players with ability but the wrong attitude.
  22. Yeah I saw that incident. Dack was in bit a bit of a tussle for the ball out on the wing and lost out. He just let the Norwich player run away with the ball downfield. Can you see Speedie doing that, or Shearer ? I keep banging about it but we lack heart and we have done for years. I'd bet a pound to a penny he'd be thinking more about having a night out in London that beating Norwich.
  23. I couldn't agree more, it's getting ridiculous. Norwich were at it last night towards the end. Players dropping to the ground for no good reason.
