  1. Were do you think we'd have been playing if we'd have given Paul Ince 3 seasons ?
  2. With this bunch of charlatans in charge anything can happen and it will probably be bad. Having said that sticking with Mowbray until it's too late could be worse.
  3. Any outfield player should be able to cross a decent ball Stuart. One of the best crossers of a ball I've seen at Ewood was Alan Shearer. especially off the right wing.
  4. I got shouted down when I suggested that for a very tall striker Gallagher is not a good header of the ball. If you rolled Gallager and Brereton into one you wouldn't have a good header of the ball. You wouldn't even have a player of Matt Jansen's heading ability and what was he 5' 9" -5' 10".
  5. He's a finisher pure and simple Den, he's not an all around football player. Put him up front alongside somebody like Newall 20 odd years ago and he'd score goals. Trouble is it's 2019 now and we don't play that way anymore. It's a bit like playing Gary Lineker or Michael Owen out wide on the right or left although I daresay they'd make a better job of it.
  6. Just one comment Parson. If you've come through various academies , youth teams, and first teams and you still can't cross a ball what have you been doing all that time ? I could cross a ball stood still or on the run with either foot, driven balls, floaters, chips etc by the time I was 17.
  7. Anybody who thinks Gallagher will score more goals at this level than Austin needs to give their head a wobble. If we're looking at long term investments instead of assets that can have an immediate impact we're in the wrong game,
  8. If we had anybody running the show with an ounce of footballing knowledge we'd be knocking on Chris Hughton's door this morning.
  9. I was going to point that out Jim. The first Rovers team I saw get relegated had that failing.
  10. But apart from that do you think we did well ?
  11. I used to work with a bloke who was similarly successful at backing winners. He just backed most of the horses in the race.
  12. He's certainly been thrown in at the deep end there.
  13. I can't remember a worse back four. Only one person to blame there.
  14. There are times when he still plays like a midfielder though. He's drawn to the ball too easily for my liking.
  15. He was until he went to Chelsea. Wether he can get back to where he was remains to be seen. He had a lot of good players around him at Leicester, do the dingles have a Mahrez or a Kante ? I believe he's opened a restaurant in Manchester. Good life style choice for a player,
  16. It hurts me more that you will ever know to say that but you have to believe what your eyes are telling you. Dyche knows how to get the absolute maximum out of average players.
  17. I'm still available Phil - Manchester Industrial League Div 1 back in the day.
  18. Even when the players are yours the more successful players can get taken away by the bigger fish. What you need is what the Dingles had, a really successful, coherent, logical way of playing that doesn't rely on too many star players but on a hardworking bunch with a good team ethic and workrate so when you are ultimately successful you can hold on to most of them. At this moment we are a million miles away from that point.
  19. Much as we all rated Reedy was he really what we needed ? Maybe he can play centre half ?
  20. Yes, very good. It's always best to stick to what goes on out on the pitch.
  21. How long will it take for to us come up with a coherent, consistent way of playing ? Why are we still speculating as what is our best formation ?
  22. Nothing is for forever in life, that's especially true in football. When you hit the wall fitness wise you hit the wall and Charlie hit that wall last season.
  23. Sounds like nobody told our lot the deadline had been moved forward. Now that wouldn't surprise me at all.
  24. I think what little bit of faith most people had in Mowbray has just left the stadium. Even the diehards who've backed him so far are busy looking the other way.
