I don't agree with equating Mowbray and Coyle as managers at all but at the moment talking purely in team performance terms what is the difference? All the failings that haunted Coyles time here have returned with a vengeance.

It's like working away in a team. You wouldn't socialise much back home but when you're away from home it's one for all and all for one. You go more than the extra mile for each other. All this high fives last season when we were dicking average to poor teams doesn't mean a thing. It's the players that grab the ball out of the back of the nets and runs to restart the game when you've just conceded a bad goal and then says " Come on we can beat this lot " or " Right , this is the last time we kick off in this game " or words to that effect. Our lot just stand there looking at each other.

I never bought the " team spirit " story. Team spirit reveals itself out on the pitch when you're busting a gut for each other not when you're pissing it up on holiday. Anybody can do that.

What I want from a team in the blue and white halves is we all win our individual battles, we win more than 50% of tackles, we win more than 50% of the second balls, we win more than 50% of the contested headers and we run further than the opposition. If we can do that the results will take care of themselves. Lack of skill I can forgive, lack of effort, desire, or will to win I can't. Yeah, My admiration of Dougie is second to none but I saw them both play and Finney was ever so slightly a better player. He could play in every position across the forward line and look a natural. He was as good as George Best in my opinion.
