  1. I can’t think who he was playing for now but I remember him coming to Ewood and giving us a bit of a chasing. That was before he went to Bournemouth.
  2. It was a good little move. The ball out to Brittain said - “ here, cross this “, and the ball in said - “ here, somebody head this in “.
  3. He’s a risk anyway. I’m tired of reading about cover and competition. We need some starters in. The guys we’ve got now can be the cover and competition.
  4. As an aside, could anybody see Gally scoring with that header ? He’d be back on his heels around the penalty spot.
  5. Nobody’s that daft. He’ll have to go on a free.
  6. Wharton should be playing today.
  7. Well at least he gave Stoke a good 20 minutes.
  8. I see Phil Jones has officially called it a day. He wants to be a manager now.
  9. It makes sense, him being the captain and a long serving player. He’ll be on a decent wedge by now.
  10. Any other club that had taken in the amount of transfer money we have recently would be looking to make a couple of decent signings. The sort that are the first names on the team sheet. However we aren’t “ any other club “ . We can’t afford to sell Travis without bringing in a replacement, ideally somebody who can boss the midfield without getting carded every game.
  11. Just how I saw it. I like both JRC and Dolan but they’d have to be on the bench next time out. JRC doesn’t look anything like fit, the game passed him by yesterday. I despair with Dolan. He over complicates everything he does, he just needs to keep it simple. That was Sammi’s strength, he kept things simple.
  12. Here’s how I score it - 4 Shocking 5 Poor 6 Good 7 Very Good 8 Excellent 9 Brilliant 10 The second coming of Bryan Douglas
  13. I don’t know what they put in the half time tea ? It must be a soporific.
  14. I gave Gueye 7. First half was decent/good. Second half was pretty poor. We only started playing after we’d gone 2-1 down.
  15. Yeah we went to pieces in that second half. We consistently took the wrong option. Instead of keeping the ball more and trying to weather the storm we kept trying “ Hollywood balls “ . I was pulling my hair out at some of our passing.
  16. I always enjoy it when we get something out of a game. First half wasn’t too bad but the second half was watching from behind the sofa territory. They’d weighed up we have very little pace up front at half time and pushed us back up the pitch about 15 yards. They then starved us of the ball, we were losing too many second balls, and we ended up playing with 7 at the back. When we did get the ball our decision making was terrible, we took the wrong option too many times. Just one incident in the middle of the second half. Pickering has the ball with open grass in front of him, he could have galloped to the half way line un challenged. What does he do - try to thread the ball to Dolan in centre field who is surrounded by three Norwich players, they immediately rob him of the ball and start an attack. He was far from alone in muddled thinking. The one coherent move of the second half led to a goal. Thank God for our Kamikaze centre forward who scored with a real strikers header. Scores Pears 5. Just not good enough. He’s worth a goal start for our opponents. Brittain 6. Blows hot and cold. Not good enough as a full back in a back four. Ok as a wing back. Great cross for the 2nd goal. Carter 6 Stuck to his task. Hyam 6 Same as Carter. I thought one of them should have done better with the cross for their no 2. Pickering 6 I’m not a fan. He’s neither fish nor fowl as full back. He looks better as a left sided centre back in a back three. JRC 5 Awful today. He doesn’t look fit to me. Travis 6 Put himself about pretty well. Pointless booking - again. Tronstad 6 Busy as always got Pears out of jail with a great block. Dolan 5 He does my head in. He never takes the easy option. He should watch film of Sammi over and over again. Guyere 7 A real handful all over the pitch and a nice touch for the Hedges goal. Could you serve Gally doing that. Hedges 6 Looked good whilst he was on, took his goal really well Subs. Ohashi 6 What a great diving header. One chance = one goal. Weimann 5 Hardly in the game Siggy 6 Looked bright on the ball and put some effort in. Buckley 6 shored up the middle to a certain extent. Looked a better bet than JRC on todays showing. Baath - hardly touched the ball.
  17. Oh, looks like I’ve hit a nerve there.
  18. Khadra’s even more fallible than Dolan when it comes to decision making. It’s a NO from me.
  19. Yeah, I’ll always remember the two goals at Leicester.
  20. He’s up there with David Speedie for me.
  21. The games gone mad. Is he really worth nearly two Adam Whartons ?
  22. I wish him all the best, he’s been great for us, especially last season. As Arbi says he played like a fan, never less than 100% effort no matter what was going on around him. Having said that I think he’s dropped a bollock signing for Ipswich but his bank manager would tell me otherwise I suppose. If he’s a success, they’ve got a bargain. If he isn’t, that’s my suspicion, they can sell him and probably get most of their money back.
  23. That is the problem. He’s got the ability but as you say he takes the wrong options too often. That was Sammi’s strength - he rarely chose the wrong option in front of goal.
