  1. We’ve got the Leeds away match before the Burnley game. I agree about Travis. He was the one player we really needed.
  2. Gally was 6’4” but who would you rather play against, the likes of Gally or the likes of David Speedie or Paul Dickov ? It’s not how big you are it’s how big you play. From what I’ve seen of Leonard he’s not a physical player, doesn’t really lead the line etc, not a particularly energetic presser etc. He’s a penalty box operator, ok for bringing on like we did the other day when we needed somebody to find a space in a crowded goal mouth.
  3. Score first and the roof will come off.
  4. We tried that with Gueye and Ohashi at Millwall, it didn’t work. And Ohashi has a lot more about him than Leonard has. Plus it meant we had to shove Cantwell out wide left where he looked like a fish riding a bike.
  5. It’s beyond fixing. There’s nobody out there that can sort the Red Rats out
  6. I remember him getting the only goal in a 1-0 home win against Everton. He made it look really easy.
  7. I’m not a Hedges fan but I agree with that. ACD should be on the bench and replace Dolan at some point in the game. I might even rest Cantwell and give Buckley a go there. We’ve got to rest players. The game are coming at a ridiculous rate.
  8. That attempted shot yesterday was really pathetic. I’d be shocked to see a school boy try a shot like that.
  9. Cantwell is a luxury player. He’s not out there to do a “ Travis “. He’s there to do the unexpected and create chances. As I’ve said before players come in two groups. The group that get you on top in the game and the group that will murder the opposition once the first group have got you on top. Cantwell belongs in the second group. Like somebody once about Bobby Charlton. “ A team of Bobby Charlton’s would never win anything because they’d never have the ball. “. They need other players to get them the ball. I didn’t see yesterday’s game but I saw the Millwall game and playing out wide he was hardly involved at all. I don’t think he’s set the world on fire so far, I was expecting a bit more demanding of the ball like Eyal Berkovic used to do. Maybe he never will never set the world on fire but I think we need to persist with him.
  10. The Yardbirds - Got To Hurry
  11. Yeah, if you want a non scoring , injury prone, centre forward then Gally is your man. I wouldn’t have him back on a free, even if he offered to play for nothing.
  12. Not every cross has to be a high one. A low hard cross into the “ area of uncertainty “ can be just as dangerous. Brittain is good at those. How many times do you see a defender stick out a foot and score an own goal ? Hyam, I’m thinking of you.
  13. It’s like the old saying - “ Do you want to be part of the problem, or do you want to be part of the solution ? “
  14. You see that all the time. Pears to Gnonto for instance.
  15. I think all modern full backs play too close to the centre halves but they’re obviously told to play that way. I noticed the Millwall full back marking ACD played wider, got right into his ribs, and never allowed him to turn with the ball. If the winger gets a run at you you’ve got a problem. If he’s smart - he’s going to be running at you and he's got you stopped. Only one winner there.
  16. Yep, a real ale house ball if I ever saw one. He should have passed it back to Hyam to who could have passed it back to Pears. Safety first after all. I’d have him in for extra training.
  17. What I’m really saying is we need to mix it up a bit. Constantly coming inside doesn’t ask enough questions of the opposition in my opinion. Our last goal came from a real old fashioned ale house cross but Sunderland coudn’t deal with it. Same as us at Millwall last week.
  18. 3 of the 4 goals today came from players getting up the side of teams and crossing the ball. Just saying.
  19. He managed to play the ball in right footed for their second goal. That was after he’d got around the outside of our defence.
  20. The Shirelles - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow
  21. Bloody hell, you’d get long odds on those scores.
  22. Maybe whoever was playing outside him could have prevented the situation arising in the first place.
  23. After what feels like a lifetime of the chicken chokers chaos it’s a miracle that that many turn up.
  24. Once your central defenders are having to turn and run back towards their own goal you’re in deep shit. As Sunderland proved today.
  25. Somebody should have been helping Beck out when we were out of possession. In my book that somebody should have been whoever was playing on the left wing at the time.
