  1. There were guys on here who were on his case after about three games. Ridiculous.
  2. There’s very interesting article in today’s paper regarding Sam Smiths brewery and pubs. He’s the autocrat who closes pubs on a whim. The two pubs closest to me, two minutes walk away in each case, are Sam Smiths pubs ( The Rifleman’s and The Alpine ) and they are both shuttered up and have been so for years. What’s the situation in Blackburn ?
  3. I watched him against Rovers and I watched him against Preston last week. Not for me, he’s going through the motions now. If Leeds, who are really desperate for a goalscorer, are prepared to let him go, that tells me all I need to know.
  4. Mm, I only saw the second half as well but Joseph’s body language looked poor to me. He looked like he’d had to walk to York to get a game. I thought the new throw in rules were a vast improvement. Take it from wherever you like as long as it’s in the correct half of the pitch !
  5. Sounds like he could be another Harry Chapman. I’d maintain a watching brief at the moment.
  6. Yeah, MOM for me in that game.
  7. And now they’re just throwing our money away.
  8. He never had any real pace that I could see. A real strange signing for me. Not fast, not tricky, not a battler, not a goalscorer. Just a shirt filler.
  9. He’s one of us. In his case - once a Rover, always a Rover.
  10. He’s doing a great job. He had to deal with the JDT fan boys at first but I think he’s won most of them over.
  11. Cornet’s had his share of injury problems in the past. Another one of those players who like to fly off the mark. Harry Chapman was one. Most of them pay the price.
  12. As you say it’ll be a really tough game. We’ll have to be at our best to get a result there. Having said that I think Eustace knows all that and he’ll have us ready mentally.
  13. The plan is for Rochdale to become a commuter town for Manchester businesses . Then workers who have to attend meetings etc in London can get a direct train there.
  14. My No1 question to Eustace in his interview last season would have been - “ Do you think you can avoid relegation ? “ The style of football wouldn’t have been an issue.
  15. And when it all goes tits up it’s the manager that gets sacked not the director of football. What a good idea.
  16. A bit unlucky really. Their winner was the only save our keeper had to make in the second half. He wasn’t stopping that one though.
  17. They’re tricky injuries to get right.
  18. I was just reading earlier that we in Rochdale are getting a direct rail link to London. It will take 3 hours apparently. 6 return journeys a day.
  19. Brilliant goalkeeper. Some of the saves he made were jaw droppingly good. He seemed to have it in for Arsenal especially. A couple of times he played them on his own !
  20. Great goalkeeper. The best I’ve seen for Rovers in my time. He was worth a goal start. Having said that there were some awful penalties in the clip.
  21. No games in this league are easy until you’ve made them easy. Start off at a high tempo, get your foot on your opponents throat and keep it there.
  22. The only good thing about the Chicken Chokers is they don’t interfere in how we play. They do give the manager a free hand in style of play. That’s after they’ve chopped his other hand off financially.
  23. The Valentine Brothers - Money’s Too Tight To Mention
  24. He mustn’t have realised the centre halves were available for a pass.
