What made you think that people who had never actually seen a game of Premier League football before they bought Rovers would have enough grey matter to appoint a better manager than Sam Allardyce ? His timing was all wrong, Ohashi did everything right. He put it on a plate. I could have hit the target from that pass, bad knee or not. The only other point is Kaminski did really well to get down to spread himself for the shot that he thought was coming. Maybe that put Guyere off.

There was a time when a club like Wolves would take a gamble on a relatively un proved at top level manager like Eustace. Newcastle did it with Gordon Lee, Sheff Utd did it with Ken Furphy and Everton did it with Howard Kendall. However times have changed and I suspect Wolves will be looking abroad as per usual.

Looking on from the outside it seems that Eustace has been successful in creating a really strong team ethic. A player may not be starting today but they are just as important as the 11 that will be starting and at some point they will be called upon to play a significant role in the future. No “ Us and Them “ mentality that can emerge when players aren’t being kept in the+loop.

When you look at what he’s got to work with it’s a terrific achievement. Unfortunately it won’t be going un noticed by clubs further up the food chain. Shades of Ken Furphy, Jim Iley, Gordon Lee, Howard Kendall etc. Back in the day when we had a succession of up and coming top managers.
