  1. What about Roberts; he is on the bench. So is Gray. It's seven substitutes in Europe.
  2. We've been on top since the goal, really, but we're shooting ourselves in the foot by lobbing the ball to the forward line once we get the ball to the halfway line and losing the ball more often than not. It would be nice to pass the ball around a bit in their half.
  3. That goal was pure charity! No way do they deserve that lead. As Exiled_Rover said, we're three levels above them and have been controlling possession.
  4. I didn't think it was a yellow card. Very harsh indeed!
  5. Gamst missed a sitter! Should have got that. Poor, poor, poor.
  6. If we don't win this match then I will be severely disappointed. To lose a match against this sort would possibly be disastrous. We need to be getting a point at the very least to even hope to qualify. (Mr. Hughes has raised the bar, hasn't he?) A 2-1 win it will probably be. McCarthy will no doubt chip in with one, while Savage will get another free kick in.
  7. Surely something to that effect was implied? Anyway, whatever you think, I'm sure we are all agreed that Newcastle is a step back for Lucas Neill. What a horrible set of circumstances they are in! Huge debt, a squad full of overpaid under-performing/injured players, set for a relegation battle, and managed by a very average manager to boot. Amongst other things.
  8. Bellamy has barely done us any harm. Really, Liverpool have had a few chances but have done nothing with them. They have had two serious attempts which forced Friedel into a diving save and Khizanishvili clearing off the goal line, but everything else has been easy enough to handle. We have been strutting our stuff on the counter, which is why Liverpool have been dominating. Noteable performers are Friedel, Emerton, Bentley, and the one and only McCarthy, and a couple of others could definitely be included. Most play has been channeled through Bentley on the right.
  9. Ah, my favourite show. Brilliant stuff as always. They do some nice parodies of British comedy, too. I liked the - a "French" remake of American Pie.
  10. He's 22 years old as of August (27?). I'm not sure if he's eligible because I don't know when the current tournament started. Anyway, he has only played four under 21 games, so it is not unusual for him to be absent from the team.
  11. I can see this game going Liverpool's way with a 1-0 result. Probably off a controversial decision. Boo. In related news, it's the first time I've predicted defeat this season. I tried hard to fight it off, but the Rovers Pessimism Syndrome is starting to take effect. When will this reputation ever be shaken off? Cheeky work colleague! Ah well, nice preview anyway. Apart from the interview.
  12. I haven't seen the highlights, but I thought that the rule actually states a red card for a situation where someone is fouled in a clear goal scoring opportunity, regardless whether it is the last defender who fouled or not. Anyway, top win Rovers! Can't wait to see the highlights. Benley sounds like he's scored another great goal.
  13. Rovers 67% of possession at the moment. Roberts! ... Saved by Kirkland. Peter Jackson Man of the Match is awarded to Lucas Neill.
  14. McCarthy!!! "Benni McCarthy (clap, clap, clap)" chant the fans!
  15. That man Robbie Savage knows how to take a free kick.
  16. It will probably be 1-0 to the Rovers and Nonda to come up with the goods. This is a game where we require three points if we are going to push on for a top six finish, and it is certainly a game I think we can win. 18888 fans will view a respectable performance. The referee will surprisingly do a good job. Just for a change.
