  1. Thought Schwarzer was a bit weak about it to be honest. He really needs to be turned on 100% of the time because he's prone to letting easy goals in. I'm pleased that "my man" Aloisi scored the sealer.
  2. I missed the whole Sensible Soccer craze. As I probably haven't mentioned before, I'm still a big Super Nintendo fan and I've gone and paid $10 for Sensible Soccer for the SNES. Will try it out and see how it goes. I can't believe that anyone isn't raving about how good International Superstar Soccer Deluxe was on the SNES (not sure if it was on other consoles). It might have been because there was a fierce rivalry between my brother, uncle, and his brother-in-law, though. I still play it on occasion. Never get bored of it, but I'm firmly a PES fan now.
  3. I was telling someone today that they shouldn't say Poland will roll over Eduador. They qualified from an extremely tough group and so you would think it would put them in good stead to at the very least be a competitive force. Poland are hardly a force to be reckoned with.
  4. Pederson = Pedersen Nelson = Nelsen Niell = Neill Friedal = Friedel Kugi = Kuqi Gallacher = Gallagher Grey = Gray Khizanishvilli = Khizanishvili Emmerton = Emerton
  5. Preston Nob End: Preston North End BRFCS member: Person who spells a Blackburn Rovers player's name in any way other than the correct way.
  6. Don't blame you. I've been buying Super Nintendo products as of late. I'll probably wait a long while before getting the PS3.
  7. I'm not happy with Neill at the moment. He's really not helping anyone like him with his comments, especially after his comments in relation to his future just a few days ago. It's very disappointing that he got the captain's armband tonight. Surely someone more committed to the club, like a Tugay or a Reid, could have worn the armband. He did have a top game tonight, though.
  8. Surely we've got to go on a bit of a European tour in context of getting into the UEFA Cup? Norway and Germany would be two good places. France and Spain would be other good places to consider. Would still like them to come to Australia, though. Melbourne please!
  9. <--- Robbie Savage celebrates with the fans. Gotta love this bloke. He decided to to give up his obligatory moaning/game-saving tackle yellow card today by donating it to the fans. Selfless. Come on, Waggy, he's brilliant. Feel the love.
  10. Bloody brilliant. Fantastic feeling. Had a Chelsea supporting brother watch the game with me and it was pissing and moaning all the way. "Dirty Blackburn", "OMG the air touched him - that should be a penalty!", and "we don't have our full team in". Tell you what, what a bunch of divers that Chelsea team have, especially Wright-Phillips. The air touches him and he falls over blike a bowling ball has hit him. That was fully deserved. We dominated the game and we could have easily had a bigger margin. It was like that. A bigger margin would have done us justice. You can't say that against Chelsea everyday. Big deal if it was a weakened team. You can only beat what is put in front of you. I was well chuffed for Savage when he got "his" goal, but it looks like Reid got his head to it. Ah well. I just want to point out the performance of one Khizanishvili tonight. He was absolute immense and led the defence line well. He gets a 10 out of 10 in my book. Hughes has made a brilliant signing and Rangers have done the rarest of things by losing out in a deal to us. Zura was the bright light in a team who all played well. Even the substitutes did their job, and Mokoena did not put a foot wrong. I think he has been hard done by this season by not getting enough matches after a disastrous opener to the season, and hopefully he is given the chance next season to be in the mix a lot more. Peter was just as good, really pushing Chelsea to the limit on the left. What a prospect that man is. He'll be making headlines in a couple of seasons. What else is their to say? Europe here we come! It is well deserved and I have very positive feelings for the summer. I'm sure we will come out on top in the transfer dealings. The players surely recognise they are onto a good thing. I'm more than confident of Bellamy staying. he has no compelling reason to leave, really. Unless Chelsea come in for him, and then surely a Chelsea purchase would see Hughes with a bonanza that would surely be put to good use.
  11. My heart bleeds for them.... not! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:P:P:P:P:P:P:P:P
  12. Good stuff. We were really controlling the game as the first half progressed. Hopefully we can push on and get the win.
  13. You would think so. Mark Hughes doesn't agree, though. It has to be the first time in memory where I don't agree with what he says. "If he is the appointment that is going to be made, you have to say he ticks most of the boxes, but for my money it's another blow to British coaching," said Hughes. "A lot of the talk initially was that it would be an English or British coach, and I hoped that would be the case." http://football365.com/news/story_183801.shtml
  14. I stayed up waiting for the match. Had a helluva tough time trying not to nod off. I got the tickets yesterday... not for any World Cup match, but for Australia vs Greece at the MCG in May. It will be jam packed and is bound to have a terrific atmosphere.
  15. It's nice to see our four best defenders in the same line-up, even if two of them are out of position. I'm not a big fan of Gray so I'm glad he has been dropped, even if it may or may not be due to performance.
  16. It's live all the way down here. I'm happy. Up the Rovers! I'm feeling really positive about this game, even though most aren't.
  17. Does anyone know where that Bellamy interview is? I could swear he said there is no minimum fee release clause or anything like that. Yet the Daily Mail say Boro are interested after learning of a 6 million escape clause.
  18. We're going to give them a 6-1 shellacking. Birmingham City get the first goal. Sutton scores after Heskey is offside. Savage scores his first goal to equalise. Bellamy and Pongolle and MGP get the other five goals. Personally, though, I wouldn't start MGP. I would rather play a "tough as nails" kind of side to match a desperate team and then finish off with flair. Friedel Neill Todd Nelsen Gray Reid Savage Mokoena Emerton Bellamy Sinama-Pongolle Lee, Pedersen, Khizanishvilli, Dickov, Bentley
  19. Rubbish. I clearly remember having shots on target, and indeed, according to the following stats, we had more shots on target than Liverpool. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/match?id=195681&cc=3436 We were awful first half, granted, but made up for it easily in the second.
  20. Another thing that ###### me off today... Cisse making the most out of every touch on him. Both Hughes and Savage had a right crack at him today. "GET UP! GET UP! GET UP!"
  21. How ###### up was the refereeing? How ###### up was the commentary, for those of us who unfortunately watched it on TV? The whole thing was ######. Screwed over yet again. The referees always pay offside if the offside striker doesn't touch the ball, but merely runs with it, so what is the difference this time? Nothing. He was clearly active and it should have been an offside. Way to ruin the game.
  22. Nelsen deserves the award someday. I thought it was a bit harsh for him to lose it last season, being what I saw as the main player who turned it all around, but then again you can't exactly give someone the award for half a season. It's Bellamy all the way for me this season, though, even though he has missed quite a few games due to injury. He has been the difference from us being mid-table and being safe European contenders. He's also a joy to watch. There aren't that many other strikers who are as enjoyable to watch.
