  1. Here is the full list of candidates. The bad news is Sparky is joint third favourite. Sam Allardyce 6/4 Paul Jewell 6/1 Alan Shearer 7/1 Mark Hughes 7/1 Steve Bruce 7/1 Sven-Goran Eriksson 7/1 Alan Curbishley 8/1 Martin O'Neill 10/1 Guus Hiddink 14/1 Paul Le Guen 14/1 Stuart Pearce 14/1 Glenn Roeder 16/1 Steve Coppell 16/1 David Moyes 20/1 Kevin Keegan 20/1 Louis Van Gaal 20/1 David O'Leary 25/1 Kenny Dalglish 33/1 Peter Reid 100/1 Paul Gascoigne 500/1
  2. I wonder what odds for Bruce as next manager of Newcastle and Souness to replace him at Brum?
  3. Kenny Dalglish is 33-1 to take over, and Gazza is 500-1! Well worth a flutter with our new shirt sponsers!
  4. But would he leave to play second fiddle to Curbs, when he is already with is mate Sparky?
  5. Roeder and shearer now in charge.
  6. A reporter has just said that the fortunes of Blackburn Rovers did him no favours!
  7. SOUNESS IS SACKED!!! Happened within last 30 mins With immediate effect - further details to beannounced...
  8. I agree. So I have modified them to remove the green: And again!
  9. And here is a quickie as to how the kits would look next year based on everyones choices and the logo for bet24... Kits Preview
  10. Wow! Designs for next years shirts are ot that we can choose, our sponsers for the next few years have been revealed, we have done the double on Ushited, Bentley got a hat trick AND our boss is touting Europe, not avoiding relegation as our goal. Am I dreaming?
  11. Uited were the better side tonight but seeing as thier strike force cost more than our entire squad so they should be. It was a decent effort from rovers but not enough. We need a new striker but whoo? I admit I have been a feirce defender of Kuqi, but after tonight I must hold my hands up. On the flip side, we shouldnt be too pesimistic. When Sparky took over, we were on our way out of the prem. Now we have been in the semi finals of a cup two years running and are still in the fa. I look forward to the visit of Man U to Ewood as we have shown we can put up a fight without fielding or best team. God, I was so sure tonight would be great, but it wasnt to be. Our achievements so far are fantastic - beating Man U earlier in the season, beating Newcastle, beating Brum and avoiding relegation. That will do for me. It was probably my fault for drinking red wine, but there is no such thing as blue wine. Hopefully I wil soon be too drunk to remeber how often we ghave tthe ball away @#/?s
  12. Looks like we were the final nail in the coffin - we all expected it when we played at ewood, but it loks like us beating them now has earnt souness his newest p45... Any number of championship teams will fall over themselves to sign him though.
  13. Kuqi reminds me of Mark Atkins I would love to sing 'super atko' again...
  14. I often wish Ewood hadn't been redeveloped to such a capacity, as currently the atmosphere at Rovers is nowhere near the level it should be. Superb win though and a fantastic run. Now we are earning the praise for playing football at last! Well done lads
  15. Been thinking and here is the solution. Erect a 100 foot beacon over the walkersteel with a loudspeaker so loud you can hear it all over the world. If anything worth moaning about happens at ewood it will be transmitted immediatly to everyone. Then we can all gather in an unruly mob and blame someone, whom we can then hang from the beacon while we sing and dance and drink below. Would that make us happy? No, cos we are Rovers fans - proud to be cynical!
  16. This isnt worth bickering between us over. I didn't travel 200 miles fair enough - i only travelled about ten. But that means I fully agreewith the fact the pitch was playable in the afternoon but not by 6. We walked from Manxman area to Ewood and it is no embelishment to say it was f**king FREEZING. I don't need a thermometer to tell me that... The path I walked was rock solid so I think it is totally believable that the pitch was playable til then. Communication from Rovers could only come afterthe game has been postponed so you cant criticise them for not telling peoplesooner. They may have been slow with the reasons, but do you really expect any of the media to go into any detail about why rovers match is postponed? Its easy to criticise.
  17. I was in the ground when the game was called off, and while it is annoying, perhaps it would be best if we stayed calm and objective. No one wants a match to be postponed. Not the fans, not the players, but especially not rovers. After the last 20 minutes of our performance at Middlesborough, I expected Rovers to destroy Sunderland last night and I am sure the players and management staff did too. Although a break does players good for fitness, it saps the confidence advantage away. The club will lose a lot of money from this, not just catering (tough they could give the pies to Wigan who will give them us for free...), but the programs too. I am sure someone can correct me, but I believe the FA can issue a penalty for such a late postponement if the club are found to be at fault? The point has also been made, quite rightly, that a lot of floating fans have been lost, and I expect many to push for refunds. I believe an attendance in the region of 24k was expected (at least), with a few thousand Sunderland fans. Surely a reschedule will bring that figure down to closer 18k. I understand the general feeling of dismay as I felt it too, but finger pointing and knee jerk reactions will do no good. I am sure the club will do its best for the disapointed fans. It is not as if this is a regular occurance - me and my mate were talking about when it happened against Wimbledon over a decade ago. In the meantime get behind the club.
  18. fact 1: no mention made prior to draw as to which team was allocated which number. fact 2: this drawon paper gives the best chance of the big clubs winning the cup. fact 3: my mum says it was a fix too.
  19. i thought that the numbers corresponded to teams in that they were numerical and alphabetical, which would have meant: 1 - arsenal, 2 - blackburn, 3 - man u, 4 - wigan. when they drew 2 first, i said 'that's us', and it wasn't... they never told us first what number each team was prior to the draw. very suspicious.
  20. bloody arsenal players dancing around because they beat doncaster. well, i hope we get them cos we have a score to settle from last season. bully boys? we will bloody bully them into the ground. bring the @#/?s on!
  21. Segregation of asian rovers fans? Like apartheid? My god... The only way to combat racism is to ignore colour full stop - anti racism campaigns, however well intentioned tend to be racist themselves. The advert that was played at Ewood recently ("When you are sick, you are green, etc") can easily be construed as racist itself. Can't stand all this do gooding nonsense. I don't see how anyone can expect racism to disapear easily, but if we educate people that skin colour is irelevant, rather than forcing people to 'make an effort' with those of another colour culture will change eventually.
  22. Birmingham did not even fill the one half of the lower tier of the Darwen End, though thier ego's could have done with more room. For some reason, the other half directly next to the drunken swearing Brummies was taken up predominantly by children..? And giving them all those anti racism posters was a mistake... Never seen so many bloody paper airplanes!
