  1. There is a company called 'Costco', which is a warehouse . there is one in Chadderton near Oldham. You need to be a preofessional (Lawyer, doctor, or in emergency services etc) to become a member with them. They have some decent laptops available - they have the Toshiba M50-161 for £599.99 (ex VAT), and if you can find a copy of thier 'member passport to savings', you get an extra £60 off. The cpec on this is just a fraction short of the one you mentioned (Pentium M, 512Mb RAM, 60GB HD, 14" Widescreen). I have always had Toshiba Satellite laptops and have never found them to be lacking - and I hammer it as far as use goes. My last one is still limping along despite me dropping it several times and overworking it for the last four years...
  2. Campo doesn't really look like a footballer does he? He looks like a sort of mad uncle who smells a bit funny. Impressed by Bently - he livened the game up a bit, though wish he'd come on for Emerton rather than MGP...
  3. It would appear he has, subject to medical... Owen a geordie...
  4. Good to see attacking football, and a lively crowd. There were a lot of good points and lessons learned tonight... 1. Savage can wind up the away supporters, and can get the CIS stand to sing - priceless. 2. Rovers should revert to 'Final Countdown', rather than tonights effort - surely they should have known that? 3. Ref's appear to be actively taking a biased attitude against rovers. 4. Edgar Davids really isn't all that... 5. Blackburn Police couldn't direct Dingle to a banana, never mind traffic around ewood.
  5. I wanted to be there, and so did my brother in law. Unfortunately i was getting married, and though we toyed with the idea of makng a run for it at 2.45pm, we thought better of it. I will miss the match against fulham too as i will be on honeymoon but i promise i will watch us beat spurs if thats ok? I hope this thread is still viewable by then as this is my last post before i set off on honeymoon... ps. yes it was worth it!
  6. No one likes us, we don't care! The media are pitiful, and its about time the Press Complaints Commission had a bloody great shake up of the whole shebang. It won't happen tho, will it? Not while the media are controlled by the people who run the country... And by that i dont just mean the governmrent. Sod 'em all - that's what I say. Keep up the passionate approach to the game and lets reflect that from the terraces. Make Ewood Park a hell hole for visiting teams...
  7. I hope you don't lose Souness this season. If you do, you are in danger of perhaps getting a manager capable of getting a team to play football worth watching. Not to mention instill some team harmony...
  8. In my line of work, you get to see the warning signs... I agree 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, but it doesn't take much to set them off in Oldham and Burnley. I know you aren't joking about the weather, but some weather reports are suggesting better weather next month...
  9. I know when the death penalty was removed in the UK, it did remain for treason and arson in the queens naval yard, which dates back to when our fleet was made of wood. I would imagine you are right though that these two charges would now not be dealt with by execution. Incidently, I fear racial riots are a very real threat now. I was walking down a road in Accrington last night with my brother in law, and a car full of local asian youths drove by, one bulky baseball capped fella leant out of the window, and tried to smack me round the head as they drove by. Totally unprovoked, and if he carried on doing the same all night, it will do nothing to ease the racial tension already evident in the town. Incidently, he missed and looked a little silly! But how long until he is doing the same with a baseball bat, or worse? Shame I didn't get the registration number really...
  10. I really hope Souness doesn't get sacked. What if they were to get a good manager in and become a decent team? Besides, a am really looking forward to the Rovers v Newcastle clashes now with Bellamy out to proove a point! So many possibilities for chants!
  11. I am sure they do. But they will probably stay tight lipped until any deals are clinched...
  12. He was my number one choice, which I voted... Each person has a different idea of what makes a good player and a good team - I like Sparky's confrontational team (if that's the right term) - actually playing the contact sport of football, and playing with a bit of passion. I am in full support of our manager and am confident he can get the most out of players like Bellamy without allowing that passion to boil over. I have enjoyed the team mentality since Mark Hughes arrived, and I look forward to it continuing. However, I would also like to see Benni sign too, and one or two more reliable defensive and midfield options. I am sure Mr Hughes has a few more tricks up his sleeve yet but most of us won't find out until the player is at Ewood having a medical at the earliest. Again!
  13. Can't think of a single newspaper out that doesn't dress stories up to be more than they are. The Sun are by far the worst and having been part of a group who has been attacked and lied about in thier pages, I will never buy the rag again. Unfortunately it stretches to local rags too now... The Accrington Observer and the LET have both gone downhill. The press are just obsessed with sensationalism and it really p*sses me off.

    Bellamy Song

Craig Bellamy is magic, He wears a magic hat, He fell out with Souness, And punched the Scottish Tw*t. (THE SCOTTISH TW*T, the scottish tw*t,)
  15. Agreed. I tried making it red (which I presume will happen), but it looked naff.
  16. The fact that this season we can argue about who would get the coveted first eleven numbers is surely a good sign that our squad is more flexible and prepared than this time last season. But Sparky seems to have a few more signings planned and the rumours say he may need to shift people out to bring people in... With that in mind, neither Dickov or Kuqi are guaranteed No. 10 - wouldn't it be great to see McCarthy as No 10? With regards to the new home kit - I thought the club had said they would announce the new kit details by the end of July, but I am not best known for paying attention... But if the club sticks to the same design as the new away which is quite likely, and going off clues left by Lee, I made a quick mock up which you can see here! I have posted a link cos I dont know if I am allowed to display it here...
  17. 1. Chelsea 2. Man Utd 3. Arsenal 4. Liverpool 5. Rovers 6. Charlton 7. Middlesborough 8. Aston Villa 9. Man City 10. Everton 11. Newcastle 12. Bolton 13. Fulham 14. Tottenham 15. Portsmouth 16. West Brom 17. Wigan ---------------- 18. West Ham 19. Birmingham 20. Sunderland
  18. I went on the day for Man City game, and got what I was told was the last two! Maybe I am just naive..! Must sort my admin out for this season cos I want to take the missus to away games!
  19. Yeah - I tried to get tickets there for Man City, Newcastle and Fulham last season. All I could get was ones for Man City, just behind the goal so that the crossbar completely blocked the view of the pitch! Still, the missus enjoyed it and I will be taking her much more next season - especially as she was singing! As for the other games, had to sit in the extremeties of the Jack Walker and Riverside.
  20. If we were to upgrade the riverside stand, I would quite like a few things incorporated which sould inmprove attendance and revenue... Of course, there are possibly even more constraints on the confined space the stand would have to be constructed in, not to mention the money we would need... It would be nice to have something that could be included in the stadium tour - perhaps some sort of museum type thing? I also think it could be a good idea to either donate a portion to families and reopen the whole of the blackburn end (getting a ticket in the blackburn end is difficult if you arent a season ticket holder), or alternatively, create a budget stand, and offer lower priced tickets. I agree that the stand would need to be built so that it doesn't take the capacity up to unreachable levels - if we built 9,000 seats that would take us to those kind of limits, which several websites seem to mention as our eventual aim (40,000). It is important to sell as many season tickets as we can, but if not, I firmly believe offering lower price tickets for games not considered 'biggies' (certainly for youngsters) would bring in more support.
  21. I remember vaguley going to watch rovers v charlton at wemberlee a long long time ago, but my first real year was watching don mckays team sat on one of the metal posts in the nuttall st stand. Was it 1989/90 ish? I have a terrible memory. my dad used to make me wear a huge wax coat and make me bend my knees so would get in for free... not long after, Mr Walker changed our fortunes for ever! I think the cup final was about 1987...
  22. Improving attendances is definately a priority... http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._513559,00.html Whats everyones opinion on the position of the family stand? Obviously, if we could fill the stadium and have had the riverside redeveloped, that would have been the perfect place for a family stand, but there is just something about using the top tier of the Blackburn End for it..? I asked for tickets to the Man City game and despite booking well in advance, only had three options for the Blackburn End.
  23. Currently playing rovers with generic '442 Attacking', but move one midfielder into the DMC position: Friedel Neil - Mokoena - Nelsen - McEv Savage Emerton - Douglas - MGP Jansen Jansen and Douglas are by far the worst players, so I Iusually get in a new player as soon as possible. Sometimes, it is possible to buy Dagoberto in a player swap deal, or installments and he is a good Forward. As for midfielders, I try for a good player but usually have no money left. Instead I try for a good season and then pick up some free transfers at the end. I agree that the amount of free transfers and the quality of players availble on them is very unrealistic though, and the only bad bit of the game. I downloaded the EPL Superpack from FM Base, but wouldnt you know it, the rovers home kit is from the season before last... Ah well, they are all out of date now aren't they?
