  1. sounds good to me. i will be at ewood though, and as iong as my son behaves! (wrote this on my ps3. took ages!)
  2. SD4E The level is misleading - he says 'down here' but he has actually gane back the way you came, towards the bridge. When you get back to the bridge, turn left down a reasonably steep hill. He will be at the end waiting for you and he will say "after you, sargeant"...
  3. I think we all suffer from Shearer syndrome. Yes, Benni can be lazy, or inconsistent, but if at the beginning of the season someone had offered us a striker for less than £3m and told us he would be in the top 3 prem scorers by the end of the season, you would have been thicker than a dingle to turn it down. That is what we got, people. I have been guilty of being overcritical of the man, but the bottom line is that without his goals, we would probably have been in a relegation dog fight. Unfortunately(?!), we were spoilt with Shearer and we have never since, nor probably never will see a player in the blue and white halves as good. In fact, neither will the premiership. We can't keep expecting players to live up to our past!
  4. I am just approaching that level, so as soon as I know, I will let you know. EDIT: And cheers for the advice regarding Motorstorm - I will be keeping it. I heard a rumour that the Resistance update would be chargeable though - I hope you are right and it is free...
  5. Retraining to a new postition has a lot to do with versatility. The more versatile he is the quicker he will learn the new position and the more likely he will retain the ability to play there. I retrained some players on my first game and one or two became very good over a period of time while the other took ages and as soon as I stopped his retraining he forgot how to play there. Age is also a factor with younger players not just quicker to learn but happier to do so.

    500 Miles

I like... An alternative: & i would walk 500 miles & i would walk 500 more to be a man who`d walk a thousand miles to moan about the distinct lack of rovers paraphanalia in the rovers store! Bad products! |Bad Products! Bad Products! |Bad Products! Bad stock sold off by Lonsdale numpties..... I know it doesn't scan, but never mind!
  7. Sounds interesting - maybe the next time me and the missus are off I will take her and pretend it is a chick flick! For the record, I really like the Bourne Identity, but was let down by the sequal. As American said - the books plotlines are better...
  8. Flopsy - can you give me a vague idea what it's about? Ienjoyed Sin City and I'm told it's by the same guy. Bourne Ultimatum is out this year. I was very disappointed by the last one (Bourne Supremacy). None are following the plotlines of the books which is a damn shame.
  9. Getting back to the ghostbusters game, it would appear that Sony have pulled the videos from youtube. Two trains of thought - the game is in production with Sony's backing for PS3 but they don't want too much slipping out. More likely, unfortunately, is that zootfly were working on the game without permission and it has been blocked by Sony (the copyright holders) from working on it. The videos sparked debate and excitement across the net and it is hoped whatever happened, this widely positive reception to a game that probably doesn't exist could well see Sony move to approve the game, what with them liking money and everything. Who knows, if it was released and revived the career, perhaps Ramis would find it easier to finally get production of Ghostbusters III back on track...
  10. I have to admit my first reaction was born of amusement. That said, I don't wish any ill feeling toward Lucas per say, but I do find it quite ironic. He wont care about being injured on that kind of pay though...
  11. He has been a very good player for us, and excellent value for money. But, it would appear to me that his refusal to sign our contract offer, and his refusal to join Liverpool with thier offer suggests he is following his wallet rather than his heart. I can't see any other reson why you would choose West Ham over Liverpool or stay put. Good luck Lucas.
  12. Definately the same game. If the same premise can be recreated on a next generation platform, then I see no reason why it couldn't revive interest in the series. I would like to see a version loosely based on the first film, starting with all of them getting kicked out of NYU, and having to purchase premises, equipment and vehicles. It would either be brilliant or aweful, but the free roaming video's look great, and I would love to use a PKE meter to find ghosts. The thing that suggests they may be fake to me is that no 'trap' is used - the ghosts seem to just disappear... Remember - if someone asks you if you are a god, you say YES! ahem.
  13. Oct 2009 for me. I think he is a best loaned out to start with. I bought him in 2006, and loaned him to Morcambe who became my second feeder club in 2007. He quickly rose in stature and is on a par with Bale, my current choice left back having given them alternate games in the first team. He has just been called up to England and all the caoches think he will become a legend...
  14. Here's my top tip - Lewis McCardle, Boro. DL. Very cheap and fast becoming the best Left Back in my game world.
  15. As I recall, once you sneaked through the legs of Mr Stay Puft, that was it - you had completed the game. No celebratory screen or anything, just the satisfaction of a job well done.
  16. Did you ever complete it though? Me and my brother in law completed it - a defining moment in my childhood!
  17. Burnout Revenge is a game me and the missus play - lots of fun!
  18. It's nowhere near as polished this year, though it works much better. The old one struggled to run on my machine, but it runs fine now. Far quicker and stabler. Surely SI will bring out a second patch... If I were you, I would email them about the problems you have had, so they can address it.
  19. No problem dude. Most of hem once downloaded need to be unzipped into the graphics folder of the game directory. Generally they have a readme file you can consult. Best backing up your settings and that first. If they dont show up, use the options screen to chnge the skin and force a reload of the cache. This is good for background pics: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php?page=...ile&fileid=2312 Good for prem kits: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php?page=...ile&fileid=2238 Good for logos: http://www.sortitoutsi.net/index.php?page=...ile&fileid=2255 Let me know how you get on!
  20. Managed to scab winning the league, and the board promptly upgraded ewood by 10k seats. Just had a near capacity 41k crowd against wigan... Does anyone have any problems with ball physics? In mine, the ball sometimes seems to 'bobble' in an odd fashion, usually near the goals. I am sick to death of seeing one of my players run 40 yards to pick up a ball and give it to an opposition player only one yard away!!! I am very much enjoying it though. I look forward to SI fixing that damned work permit rule, though!
  21. All links here are good for resources: http://www.fanbase-links.co.uk/football_manager_links.html
  22. As you can see, a total disrespect for defence on the players part helps... Edit: Please don't think Corluka is apoor player off his 5 rating. Up till now he has been earning regular 8's and won several player of the month awards...
  23. I experienced one crash - just after 30 mins of purging my shortlist... Also, beating the top clubs is tricky. If you play as Rovers or equivelent they are just so much better. If you play as one of the top teams they raise thier game. As cocker says, i like to take out thier best player and stick to the same tactic. Asking them to do it for the fans appears to give the best hope, but i suppose that depends on your team mentality...
  24. Got some bargains in the sales - all for PS2: Fifa 07 £14.99 (Play.com) Canis Canem Edit £15 (Blockbuster) Singstar Anthems £15 (Blockbuster) SSX On Tour £7.99 (Woolworths) Sensible Soccer 2006 £10 (ASDA) Gran Turismo 4 £11.99 (Amazon) Not all the latest games but I like em, and they were bargains!
