I have just finished it and it is no understatement to say I don't think I will ever read a book as good. It engaged me on a personal level - a rare thing for a book!

I am getting towards the end of This Thing of Darkness. Absolutely fascinating book. I find FitzRoy quite a tragically unlucky character while Darwin comes across as one of those infuriating people who always seem to come up smelling of roses. This is not my normal sort of book but I would highly recommend anyone to try it!

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time and Short History of Nearly Everything: Read both and loved them. This Thing of Darkness: Reading now and loving it. This is a very good thread and the list (which Colin is making) is a good idea - I can just take the list to the library now!

This OS has been out for long enough for people to decide how good it is. Does anyone else have it installed? If so, do you rate it? I absolutely hate it. To start with I quite liked it, but none of the problems I have with it have been addressed and I feel as if Microsoft don't care. Which they probably don't. My clock is always wrong no matter what I do with the BIOS or the update options, fies take much longer to transfer and inaccurate time remaining calculations are becoming very annoying ("twelve days remaining"!). User Account Control is ironically far too invasive, and still there are too many compatability issues. I also find that I have a big problem watching some videos, with VLC in particular struggling to display video at an acceptable frame rate. Oh, and every DVD video I have burned has been so poor I actually literally burned the DVD afterwards!. This is Vista Home Basic, so the more expensive versions may be better, but on this showing I certainly won't be upgrading. Now, how do I get XP installed instead?

For no good reason I updated the squads and have just finished. If anyone wants me to send it via ps3, let me know but be warned - it isn't 100% accurate. Similarly, if anyone out there does have an up to date squad list or will be able to download it and send it via ps3 when the new one comes out, please let me know!

So thankfully, this saga can be put to bed. Bentley demonised and that's an end to it. Or is it? Dave is currently enjoying a desrved break from the heckling in Dubai and is said to be very much looking forward to stepping up a gear for Rovers next season and proving his doubters wrong. Don't be surprised if the full details of his absence from the Championships come out in a few weeks time - there is more to the situation. It won't be the best news for Psycho, but then again, that is if the press decide to report it properly...

Bentley is staying. He wants to play football week in week out and he knows he will not get that anywhere. In fact, the prospect of him rejoining Arsenal makes him laugh. Why should he go to be a mediocre aspect of a 'big' club when he can stay at Rovers and be a big part of the team. As long as we are pushing for Europe places he will remain.
