  2. The first of thiers was contestable for offside - had it been us I am sure it would have been. Their second is clearly offside, backed up by one of my colleagues at work who loves giving me stick. For him to agree and say we are getting a bum deal from officials recently is quite something. Again MOTD didn't show most of the incidents against us (Lucas Neill getting punched, the disallowed goals, penalty claims). The blame lies with the players, but even so, when the ref is so against you (and anyone who has been to Ewood for any of the last four games with working eyes will tell you they have been), you can't help but wonder what might have been on an even keel. Nothing anyone defending the refs has said is in any way convincing, and I doubt will convince me that they haven't been (more) biased (than usual) recently. The second half performance is cause for hope, but right now I can see a return to 4-5-1 coming at least until we have any joy in the transfer window. For me, yesterdays defending was diabolical. For thier third, I understand why Brad went upfield, but why were the only two players to get a tackle in Tugay (again) and Savage?
  3. Hope you get to go there Abs - Phoenix is one of those places on my list to visit. Are going to watch the Suns play? Seriously, dude - good luck with it!
  4. I think I read somewhere Accy Stanley have Nike... Anyhoo, if bet24 end up with thier deal terminated, and then the club get rid of lonsdale the management could get those nice retro kits from toffs... We could get them to make our nice red and black away kit too. Or we could pay nike.
  5. It can't be Theno - FLB hasn't accused him of being Vinjay...
  6. I only used the online ticket ordering system once and never again. It is aweful and not even run by the club...
  7. I agree that 4-5-1 is looking inevitable... For me, Henchoz is playing above expectations, and Ooijer is playing better now. Having said that, whatever he has done, Todd is a player most footballers do not want to play against, so maybe the time has come to bring back the beef. I'd play Axe in front but tell him he is 'only there to tackle - so don't get any fancy footballing ideas (!)'. Grey at left back and Neill at right back (until Brett is back, then he can disappear for all I care, now), with Peter and Bentley on the wings and have them work together all day in training. Get Savage in the middle harrassing with Toogs in front to do all the actual football. Then tell Benni he is up front on his own, impress us. Pederson - get home, and have a rest - you are knackered and unfit. Leave this band you are in and get a bloody haircut. Brad. You are our only hope. No pressure. Sparky - pull something out of the bag when the transfer window opens, please...
  8. Just added Bully to my wish list. Still playing Civ 4 after all this time... Looking forward to Final Fantasy, and completing my Singstar collection - also a lot of fun when drunk!
  9. How does it feel being one of the four teams to have won the Prem? It is a good feeling, but it feels more pointless every year the media belittle the chievements of any team outside the top four. Especially bitter pill to swallow is that Chelsea bought the title quite blatently and have been doing so agressively ever since, but most footballers feel as though we bought it despite the fact hardly any teams have won anything without buying players... ho hum! Life is more exciting now though, because the league is much more open after Chelsea and Man U. What do you think of Mark Hughes? My first choice when we were manager hunting - a genuinely decent bloke and a manager who has give us some very good times. You always feel he can pull something out of the bag to get a result! UEFA Cup – Heaven or Hell? Heaven! We are winning in Europe for once! Why has your season started so indifferently? I think a mixture of high expectations and a tiring Euro run. Still, as we are out of the League Cup and probably likely to go out of the FA cup early on, we should get the season back on track. A good run in Europe would be great! Who has performed above expectations for your team? And who not? Emerton - practically every fan you spoke to couldn't wait for him to leave and him signing a contract extension instead of going to Boro was seen as a bad thing. Then Hughes made him play at right back and he's one of our best players this season. On the flip side, Morten Gamst Pederson is really struggling to find his form this year and looks like he needs a bloody good rest to be honest. Why do you not sell out the ground? General apathy in Blackburn coupled with so many other things (crap club shop, expensive food and drink, annoying drummers, a high number of teams in the local area, confusing ticket prices - though this is getting better). I can't see us ever filling Ewood again to be honest, but you never know. If we were to win the Prem again, the glory hunters would be back... What do you think of Reading? Personally, I am glad you are having a good season - it is always nice to have a new team in the Prem so we can see something different. Obviously I hope we beat you but it's nothing personal! Score Prediction? I think an exciting game wil finish 2-2, but it could go either way. Any finally - tell me some Interesting fact about your club? We are one of only three teams to finish in every position in the top flight and no other team will ever join us. I will leave you to find out the other two, and the reason why - good pub question!
  10. Preston Blue, that is where my post was leading. I am going to do a little research over the next few weeks - sourcing, and things. Sick of the club shop being crap, and I intend to do something about it... PS - cheers for the legal advice drift, pb and mcmc!
  11. Which of these would constitute a copyright violation if i were to set up a shop: The use of the club crest The use of 'arte et labore' The use of blue and white halved The use of player names The use of chants The use of the word 'rover' A picture drawn of any part of the ground or players A photograph of any part of the ground or players A model of the ground Anything I may have forgotten....
  12. OK, fair point on the profit/loss thing for the shopitself, but thinking outside of the box - what if the fact the club shop is so poor as regards actual rovers merchandise (as is being reported here), that some fans who would have normally included a visit to the shop within a normal matchday experience, now don't. That is another aspect to the football experience as a fan lost, and coupled with other arguable shortcomings (the expense and disorder of the pie and beer kiosks, the visible lack of programs for sale in several stands, the drums, the lack of pre match entertainment to name but a few). Is it not possible that this could be a factor - merely a factor - in the declining attendance? If so, the club are just losing money in another way. I don't really care much about who is related to who in the management structure, but as the rovers store is part of marketing and the majority of opinions i have seen think the shop is below the standard we expect, something should be done.
  13. But we aren't selling the same merchandise, are we? If we were selling the merchandise the fans actually want, we wouldn't have so much space in this site devoted to it, consitently over the last couple of years. The bottom line is that the products with a Blackburn Rovers brand on sale in the shop is dismal, and nowhere near what it has been in the past. The fact that fans would rather purchase from Chorley market than the club shop is a disgrace. No disrespect to the market at all, but it shouldn't offer a wider range of stock than our club shop.

    Nice one, cheers Sleepykjack!
  16. Sorry, LUFC red, looks like you missed the serious people. Some who replied usually are serious, but there are members out there who would be a lot worse! It is certainly a new rumour, but not fully convinced. Having said that, how long can we hold on to sparky? The lure of a bigger budget has attracted people in the past. As I said earlier though, I don't think you are doing to bad under Rafa, but like us this season, perhaps expectations were just a tad high? Sorry, LUFC red, looks like you missed the serious people. It was mentioned that those who went to feyenoord were going to sing a new song against fulham, but i didn't hear it. Could anyone post it, perhaps with a link to it or something if you have a recording of it?
  18. I think Sparky is primed more for the eventual Man U job. Besides, nothing wrong with Rafa apart from his rotation policy. I would expect another foreign manager to be the next Liverpool manager.
  19. Get rid, and start selling stuff we want. Rovers kit, home away and goalie, other rovers clothing, trainers and shoes, aftershave, socks, ties, cufflinks, chocolate (especially turkish delight), crisps, pop, board games, computer games, posters, pictures, autograph books, autographs, stadium models old and new, ground photos old and new, footballs, nets, sunglasses, nappies, clackers, whistles, great big foam hands, retro kits, wigs, hats, prosthetic limbs, flat caps, coats, undies, knickers, toilet roll, sticks, computers, tvs, cars, notepads, silverware, crockery, fake tattoos, real tattoos, programs, pies, radios, mp3 players, cameras, flags, drums, guitars, trumpets, watchs, pens pencils rubbers and other stationary, toys, books, song sheets, 4000 holes, tie pins, crystal, condoms, brooches, fancy figurines, crap figurines, roversworld subscriptions, ewood park experience days, rovers flavour wine (and make it stay blue and white halved even after its been poured), bubble bath, bubble gum, bubbles, hankies, pogs, a subscription so you can bring last seasons kit in and get a 50% discount on the new one, twinkies (available on mail order for our USA fans and have them endorsed by brad), beer, whiskey, leeks, cds, frames, bedding, plants, beds, stickers... Oh, and clocks. Telling the time is important.
  20. Rovers 2-1 Charlton. I hope they stay up though.
  21. That is a very bold and noble offer. I will try to think of ways to help you. While not in a position to buy a full ticket, how about if a central website was set up with a paypal account where members could donate whatever they could? I would be willing to donate the url and webspace, possibly even the site itself...
  22. I tried and couldn't find it. Possibly because my phone found over 100 people who did have bluetooth (and some laptops from the media types!). Having said that, I don't know what I would have done even if I did find your phone! Never mind, could you put the song on the net anywhere to download or email it? As for the game, happy my 2-0 prediction was right - thats three points lifting us to joint 14th by my reckoning. Don't forget that Fulham only brought less than 100 fans!!! It is as much thier lack of support that reflects badly on our figures.
