  1. He said the same thing when he was at Rovers. Also wasn't there similar problems when he managed Liverpool?
  2. Exactly, it's the same reason why Australia have been playing friendly matches in England with games at Craven Cottage, Loftus Road and the Majecki Stadium. It would be pointless to send a team thousands of kilometres to Australia to play a training match.
  3. That's the million dollar question. Australia's future batting stocks look pretty good at the moment (Clarke, Hussey, Haddin), but the bowling stocks look very, very sparse. The lack of decent bowlers has been around for years it's just at the moment McGrath injury and Kasper's/Gillespie's form slump has shown it up. As someone said, it's harder to get out of the Australian team, than in. [Clenched teeth mode] There is a chance that a team slump like after Marsh/Lillee/Chappell era of the early 80's is coming.
  4. It worked well last week, just wish that Keith would come back.
  5. Chelsea Liverpool Arsenal Man Utd Tottenham Middlesborough Charlton Aston Villa Everton Rovers Bolton Newcastle - position of this will be higher or lower depending on how long Souness stays in the job. Birmingham Portsmouth Man City Fulham West Ham West Brom Sunderland Wigan
  6. So explain to me why a Papua New Guinean is now in your team? http://content.cricinfo.com/england/conten...ayer/15501.html
  7. Exactly, the Sydney Football Stadium changed it's name to Aussie Stadium after the Sydney Cricket & Sports Ground Trust signed away ground naming rights to Aussie Home Loans, but no one calls the ground by it's new name.
  8. Maybe if ECB hadn't decided to get some "practise" in against Bangladesh they would have played the games in June. Anyway the ECB just knows that the only time people want to see cricket in England is when they play Australia, so the ECB might as well get as much money out of cricket fans by playing worthless one day and 20/20 matches. Hopefully this time Harmison has worked out how to bowl the ball onto the pitch.
  9. Snap it up dude. throw in a new GCARD and your laughing 319872[/snapback] Be very careful with upgrading Dell PCs, Dell pop rivets their cases so it's obvious that you've opened the case. Also means that if there's a problem with your PC, the warranty is void as Dell knows that you've opened the machine.
  10. I hope it's Preston as I'm going over to the UK next season and I don't want to travel too far from Blackburn to see Rovers play
  11. Biddy, the Rugby League team I support (South Sydney), has a similar scheme, it's called the 6 game super pass. You have entry to 6 home games in the general admission area which means you can have any seat but in a designated area. The cost works out like this; A full season pass = $180 (12 games) - $15 per game 6 Game Super Pass = $95 (6 games) - $15.83 per game The usual price at the door is $20 per game. It might be an idea that Rovers could use?
  12. Maybe the Mancs should of let Rupert "Evil" Murdoch buy the club a few years ago?
  13. Who cares about Fergy anyway, it's not like he'll win anymore titles with Man Utd.
  14. I agree Chris, it must of been the dodgy beer they were drinking, I had the fish and chips and I survived. It was a great night, shame about the result, it's always great to meet fellow Rovers' fans and actually put faces to names. Although it was weird when the game finished and I looked around and I was surrounded by Welsh and Irish Rugby fans. Highlights/Lowlights/Strangeness *Watching the Worthington Cup Final again, even three years later I couldn't get the smile off my face when the second goal went in. Also lamenting how great Rovers attack was back then. *Finding out where Chris Roe was after he went missing at the Sydney Promotion party back in 2001. We all thought he went away with someone *Watching the smile on the face of a Blackburn lass when she entered the pub and saw a bunch of lads in Rovers' jerseys. *Trying to convince a bunch of Union fans that I wasn't English and didn’t care who would win the Wales V Ireland game, I was just happy that England weren't going to win the Six Nations. *Calling my airline at 5am after getting a SMS saying that my flight had been cancelled. I wonder what the woman on the other end of the phone was thinking when I started talking. *Talking to the pubs landlord about the raising of the coffin ceremony at Bamber (sp?) Bridge. *When the Blackburn lasses very attractive friends left - and no it wasn't anything I said *The 8am wake up call after 3 hours of sleep *Watching South Sydney play the next day with fellow Roverite Squaylor and seeing a Rabbitohs win. Let's hope we do this again (maybe the Storm V Rabbitohs game in June?), sooner rather that later.
  15. My prediction; Rovers 1 - Arsenal 1 At the Charles Dickens Tavern tonight, Rovers' fans will out number Arsenal fans 5 to 1, and the hangover count the next morning will be about the same.
  16. That's a great idea, maybe the person to go to the semi will be the person who had to travel the furthest distance. I wonder who that is?
  17. I knew there was a reason why I'm staying at a hotel near the pub Just have to make sure I'm at the hotel for the cab I booked on Sunday morning. Anyway, aren't we all going to pg's house for drinks after the game?
  18. Thanks Alan75 for this quote http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/?showtopic=11362 Come on, we'll be fine by kick off, although I'm not too sure how we will be when the game is finished
  19. Also for fans in Australia, SBS will be showing both semi finals live!
  20. pg, that's a very dangerous question to ask, just hope your wife doesn't mind a room full of Rovers fans after a Rovers win. Yes please, the more the merrier I say.
  21. Well hotels booked and now work is paying my airfares as I have to be in Melbourne for a meeting Now, what time are we meeting up at the Charles Dickens?
  22. Blueboy, I've sent you an email about accommodation, and no I wont be bringing a case of Tooheys New for you, there's enough pubs in Melbourne owned by Tooheys that will sell you one
  23. Just bringing this to the top. BTW mods, could someone pin this topic???
  24. (Asking again in case this question gets unnoticed.) Sorry James, Boro site is pay to listen just like the Radio Rovers.
  25. Not too sure about pubs in the Cross, but I'm sure that One World Sports at Darling Harbour will have it on (if the game is on TV here). Maybe a get together of the Sydney based fans could be organised?
